[COMPLETE] Welcome home~
Who: Beast Boy, Kite, and Linda
Where: RANDOM HALLWAY. Probably somewhere on the first floor.
When: Late night/early morning; a week after his disappearance
Rating: PG
Summary: In only a week, so much had happened to Beast Boy and so many had missed him. But no one was so determined to find him as Kite and Linda were. (ALSO NO ONE SAW THAT MASSIVE FAIL I JUST PULLED)
the Story:
It was a miracle he had made it back in one piece!
It'd been kinda hard to rebuild the machine when he was impaired by his wounds, but at least he and Tino had managed to fix the "Time Machine." A few extra pieces of wire here, a couple more drawn-on buttons there, and it was as good as new! And it actually worked this time.
Tino had run off to do his own thing (no doubt make sure his beloved Pizza was still alright), leaving Beast Boy to quietly... erm, limp his way to Simon's clinic. Hopefully Raven would come down too. He'd really missed her, and her magic could really come in handy repairing his missing skin. Then he was long overdue for some serious napping and game time with River.
The Duchess had done a fairly good job patching him up though. The worst of his wounds--the claw marks on his cheek, the gaping hole in his side, the claw marks down his back--were all covered in gauze until they could be fixed up be a real doctor. But even Simon couldn't give him the Duchess' comfort, her soothing words, her motherly smile... Besides, he probably needed to go fix his clothes. They were still a torn mess despite the Duchess' efforts to sew them, and he was kinda missing his shoes and gloves. At least the floor didn't have splinters.
Well, despite it all, he was in a fairly good mood. He was back! Not any older, but possibly wiser and definitely stronger. His mirror self wouldn't be waking up to spit out more threats any time soon, at least. Secure in that knowledge, he decided to hum and upbeat tune and put a little skip in his limp.

Beast Boy sighed. He didn't want to hide it from them, and no one was really gonna believe his other explanation anyways. (If anyone is wondering: "I tripped over a rock and it exploded.") Then again, he did promise Raven he wouldn't tell anyone... but they didn't have to know about the future, or about any of that. Not yet. He wanted them to be as happy as possible. Besides, it's not technically breaking his promise to let them know what happened on the other side of the mirror. That wasn't in the notes.
"Well. I didn't really go to the future. I kinda ended up in this nice lady's room with Tino. She's called the Duchess, and she's really nice and made us cookies and hugged me when I was sad and--"
Shaking his head, he tried to get himself back on track. As BB did so, his voice dropped a little, becoming quiter and grave. "Remember all my hero stories? You know that not all of 'em are good. When Raven's-- erm, when Trigon took over the world, he... he drew out the bad side in me. We fought then, but he went back to where he belonged and... I thought it was over.
He's living on the other side of the mirrors. I dunno all the details, but..."
Beast Boy paused, shuddering at the thought of his other self. "He. We fought again, but this time it was different. He was so much worse, he. He kept." Dammit, now wasn't the time for his voice to get shaky! He really didn't want to worry Linda and Kite, but they had to know. They deserved to know. Beast Boy leaned back in towards them, almost as if he was trying to hide himself in his friends' embrace.
"He was talking about how he was gonna hurt you guys if he couldn't take my place. Axel... he was gonna drag him down in the ocean and drown 'im and crush him with the pressure. And you guys and River and Harry... that mei, tāmāde húndàn was gonna--!"
Letting out a shaky sigh, he looped his arms around them again in a feirce hug, ignoring the pain that shot up his spine from the movement. He'd only vaguely learned some Chinese from hanging around the Tams so much, but he knew enough to know which ones were swears and which weren't.
"He was jealous that you guys are my friends and he wanted you," he muttered. "I had to stop him. He was hurting me and he kept describing how he'd kill you and show you my corpse and..."
Oh please please please, don't let him be crying! It was over! That was a lie, he knew it, but it was over for now.
