Rating: PG? It's Ganta and Vivi, come on.
Summary: Ganta joins Vivi for a walk.
The Story:
Ganta got to the fountain before Vivi and perched on its edge, waiting for the black mage. He swung his legs a little, head tilted back to watch some clouds pass by overhead. He didn't mind waiting, since he knew that it could take some time to figure out how to navigate the mansion. Besides, after living underground for some time, he enjoyed any opportunity he got to be outside.

Vivi managed to find his way to the door leading to outside of the mansion and he paused after he opened the door, looking around as if he expected something vile to be waiting for him. But he was pleasantly surprised that it looked nice and... well, normal outside.

He left the doorway of the mansion, watching out for the fountain until he finally saw it, half-jogging up to it and looking up at Ganta.

"H-hi, Mister Ganta. I hope you weren't waiting for too long..."

"No, not long." He smiled at Vivi and slid down from the edge of the fountain. "Don't worry about it. Where do you want to go?"

"Uhm..." He looked around a bit. "I-I haven't really been outside before... I almost couldn't find the door to outside on the first floor."

He pulled on the rim of his hat a bit sheepishly but being outside seemed to improve his mood slightly from that wicked event they attended.

"The mansion's really confusing," Ganta agreed. "I was lucky that I arrived outside instead of inside, so I already knew what was out here."

He looks around as well. "There's the grounds, with the gardens, and the forest, and the beach. I've been to all of them, so you can pick which one you want to see."

"Well... uhm, well the gardens sounds..." Vivi paused for a second. "... safe... but I've never been to a beach before. Not for very long anyway... and without monsters..."

Ganta perked up a little. "Let's go to the beach then. It's pretty safe and it's really nice."

Vivi nods. "O-okay. That sounds good, Mister Ganta."

Ganta started to lead the way, but made sure not to get ahead of Vivi.

"What kind of world are you from, Vivi-san?"

Vivi walked alongside Ganta as he thought.

"Uhm, well... It's really big. My friends and I went to a lot of places... sometimes by accident... and other times while we were looking for--...Th-there's three major kingdoms on the Mist Continent. One of my friends, Dagger, is Queen of Alexandria."

Ganta cocked his head to the side curiously as he listened.

"Wow. You're friends with a queen?" He smiled a little. "That's all pretty different from where I'm from."

Vivi nodded. "She took over as Queen after her mother died... but she's really nice."

He looked up at Ganta.

"What's your world like, Mister Ganta? Does it have castles too?"

"Some castles, yeah. But they're all old. No one really uses them now, except to visit and look at."

He looked up at the sky as he spoke, thinking.

"My world is...it's alright for the most part. The place where I was wasn't really, but most of the world isn't like that."

Vivi blinked.

"It wasn't...? Why not, Mister Ganta?"

"I was in prison before I came here," Ganta explained. His tone was nonchalant. He'd gotten so used to talking about this now that he didn't think much of it anymore.

"Prison...?" He watched Ganta for a few moments, a little perplexed. "Why would they put you in a prison, Mister Ganta? You're too nice of a person to do anything bad."

"Yeah, I didn't do anything." Ganta put his hands in his pockets. "The prison was a front for human experimentation on people with powers like mine, so I was framed."

Vivi's eyes widen. "...Th-that's horrible.. How could they do something like that, Mister Ganta...?!"

Ganta shrugged and forced a smile. "Some people just do things like that."

He tilted his head back to look at the sky again. "That's why I don't mind being here so much. I miss my friends at home some, but for the most part this place is better."

"I guess you're right..." Vivi looked to the ground in thought. "Those cruel people can't get you if you're here..."

Ganta nodded. "It's not like that for most of the people here, though. They'd rather be home than here."

He figured Vivi was probably one of those people, considering their previous conversation.

"Yeah..." He paused for a moment or two in quiet thought. "..."

Ganta was quiet for several moments as well. He didn't speak until they'd reached the beach.

"Here we are." He smiled, looking out at the water. Even if it didn't represent a possible exit from Wonderland, he still liked it.

"...Wow... It really is nice."

Vivi glanced around at the beach, finding it a nice change from being lost inside of the huge mansion. "I didn't even know this was out here..."

Ganta started to make his way closer to the water.

"You can see it from some of the windows on this side of the mansion."

"Really? I haven't looked out the windows much..."

Vivi walks after Ganta.
