Deck the halls with Phobias~
Who: Cheshire and Gilbert, then later Vincent
Where The hallway
When: Dec. 21
Rating: pg-13 for possible language
Summary: Gil decides to take a walk to go see Oz, until he runs into Cheshire and past a wreath.
the Story:
To say the last few days were a surprise was an understatement. On the one hand Oz was back and he didn't have to worry about his master being safe for the time being. Then there was the negative hand...first was Cheshire (why the hell did he have to come here?) and then Vincent...who seemed to be staying in his room now too. Gil had thought about just going and curling up in a corner, but opted for a walk instead. Maybe he could go see Oz that would make his day better...a lot better.
Briskly walking down the new decorated halls, not sure what was going on with that, he really didn't pay much mind where he was going. His only focus was on the last of his cigarettes between his lips. If anyone wanted to get on his case about it he felt he deserved one after his week so far.

He'd decided to go explore the place as he curiously looked at the decorations that the place had suddenly exploded in.
"What is all the fuss with the colors and bells?" He didn't mind the bells so much as his own bells that were connected to his scarf jingled with each move he made.
no subject
It wasn't until he held the lit smoke in his finger did he notice a familiar jingle. It wasn't like the bells on the wall he had heard this one before. Gold eyes then widened as he stopped in his tracks staring at was in front of him. Cheshire?!
"C-C-C-Cheshire..." Body tensing his ever still clear phobia coming to the surface.

"Raven always stutters around Cheshire." His tail swished as his long claws clicked on the floor.
no subject
"Cat...Y-You're...a cat."
no subject
"Yes Cheshire is a cat, and Raven is afraid of cats." He moved closer, before getting right up in his face and sniffing.
"You are an odd one Raven."
no subject
"...Maybe..." Moving his face back away from the cat.
no subject
"Cheshire thinks you are."
no subject
The wreath above acting slightly strange as it moves a little on it's own.
no subject
"Cheshire is right, is he not."
no subject
"I...I..." The only thing that seemed to snap him a little to normal was the fact that something was touching his back. A confused look on his face looking up only to see that ribbon darting out for both of them.
no subject
He hissed and tried to slash at it only to have more ribbon dart out and grab his other claw.
"What is this?!"
no subject
"What the!" He knew it was too good to be true.
no subject
"Cheshire doesn't like this! Get it off!"
no subject
"W-Watch it!" Hands now being pulled toward the chains body.
no subject
"Get off me you stupid Raven!" He struggled but to no avail, letting loose hisses as his tail twitched annoyingly.

What he saw was quite alarming: seeing a twitching, flailing mass of both his brother and Cheshire, being tied nicely together into a bow.
He made his way to the two and realized his brother had passed out. He sighed and turned his eyes to the other. "Cheshire." It was curt, and his eyes were not particularly understanding. He did not miss the scratch on his brother's face. "What in heaven's name are you doing to my brother?"
no subject
"You!" He didn't care if Raven was attached or not as he jumped back into a crouched position with Raven firmly tied to his back.
"You are the cause of everything!"
no subject
He doubted the cat would respond well to this method of handling, in spite of himself, who was acting irrationally on his rage.
"I don't want anything from you. I merely want to untie the two of you before my brother is hurt further." And that was the truth. He had already deduced that there was nothing else to gain from fighting with Cheshire here in Wonderland. Conflict with him at this point would be pointless. Rather, it could be destructive to do so.
no subject
"Cheshire doesn't trust you!" Without another word he darted away as fast as he could with the extra weight on his back down the hallway. He'd figure out how to get Raven off himself, but he'd never allow Vincent to get that close.

And so we see the game of cat and mouse reversed, as Vincent took off after the can in order to save his brother. By making use of his long legs, his knowledge of the hallways, and the fact that Cheshire was currently slowed down by the weight of an extra person, he managed to catch up, although he was worse for the wear when he did, rather out of breath and disheveled.
"Hasn't this gone on long enough?" He said, not bothering to try and cover up his labored breathing. After all, it was a miracle he had caught up at all.
"If you don't trust me, that's fine. But you should believe this - I wouldn't do anything as careless and needlessly violent in front of my brother."
no subject
no subject
Ah, but wait.
"So... It's fine if I help you as long as I don't come near you, yes?"
no subject
He cocked his head at Vincent's question wondering what the man was up too.
"Cheshire will not let you get near.."
no subject
He pointed one gloved finger at the paw that had lashed out at him earlier and smiled. "And that is: rather than lash out at me, why not just tear it yourself."
"Without attacking my brother this time, if you will." If he needed them, the scissors in his pocket could double as a throwing knife, and it was a known fact that Vincent's aim was nothing short of perfect.

"It seems you and I will have to meet again another time." Vincent said coolly, bending down to inspect Gilbert for any further injuries, happy to see that there were none. Albeit a bit clumsily, he lifted his brother to his feet, carrying him in his arms, lest he be left vulnerable and defenseless on the floor around the edgy cat.
no subject
He backed up and jumped into the air dissappearing with a swoosh of his scarf. He didn't intend on meeting with Vincent again, but if they happened to meet in a situation that aided him better he'd happily scratch out those mis matched eyes of his.
no subject
And Gilbert was fine. His fear of cats might be worse from now on, but at least he was free from him now. Shifting a bit, he mentally cursed himself for being so thin and weak, but did not once complain, taking Gilbert back towards his room.
no subject
It wasn't long before he began to stir. Was he moving? It wasn't Cheshire...was it? All senses returning to him at once as he thrashed out towards his 'captor' golden eyes wide open now. Gloved hands reaching for his guns as he stepped back aiming at who ever it was...then he saw the person. It wasn't the cat, but instead his brother. When had he got there and why did his body ache like he was a rag doll?
no subject
He was rather defenseless, sprawled out on the floor, looking up just in time to see Gil aiming his guns straight at him. Eyes wide, he was struck speechless for a moment. His thoughts were too scrambled in the moment, to make a proper response. His expression was shocked. But despite that, there was not an ounce of fear in his eyes.
no subject
The gun dropped with a loud thud to the floor, his hand grasping the from of his own shirt. An apologetic look all over his face. "I...Sorry...I thought you were...Cheshire." Even if his brother could be...hard to deal with it was still his flesh and blood, not that he could remember all of it.
no subject
His usually harsh facial features had softened completely, and he squeezed Gilbert's hand slightly. "I'm fine, Gil." He said slowly, making sure Gilbert was listening. "See?" He shrugged, like it was nothing. "I saw what happened. Cheshire put you through quite a bit."
no subject
Gathering his attention again he looked to the blond. "Ah...where is he?" The fact the cat had touched him sent light chills through his body.
