FIRE CANDY EVENT POST [OPEN]

Who: You. That's right, YOU. [OPEN]
Where: EVERYWHERE!
When: March 19th, starting at midnight
Rating: To be determined. First offer is PG-13 for drug use.
Summary: CANDY RAVE PARTY IS GO!
The Story:

"At exactly midnight on the 19th, the mansion becomes a club where the party never stops--even if you want it to. Neon and black lights flicker everywhere and loud music makes the walls shake. Outside, Wonderland has become a grungy city of doorless buildings, lit up in neon that makes it impossible to make out any stars in the sky. The only normal fixture of Wonderland that remains are the merchants, though residents will find them changed. Their masks are the faces of animals, their booths are run down, and they'll swindle, scam, and even steal from you if you don't watch out.

But that's not all. What rave would be complete without candy? It's all over the place, littering every surface, in all shapes and colors. The floors are littered with empty wrappers that tempt you: everyone else is doing it, so it can't hurt to have a piece. Right? ♥

And it doesn't! Not at first, anyway. At first, it's quite pleasant, inducing cheerful, playful, laid back moods in anyone who consumes it. It's quite addictive once you've had a taste, but there seems to be plenty to go around."

Then the post says something about changes when the 20th rolls around. But today is not the 20th, so who cares? IT'S PARTY TIME!

"I do?" Poland had forgotten all about that! Really, hadn't been thinking about it at all. Wasn't that silly?

He pauses in his dance, patting his legs experimentally, then smiles up at Philip. "Ohmigod, you're so right!"

Philip claps his hands together once in approval.

"They look- they look really great, I'm--"

He spins around once, almost dutifully, as if dancing is an important task that can't be abandoned during his conversation.

"I'm so relieved," he touches his chest in a gesture of sincerity. "Those fins would have been--"

Another spin. Can he still be heard? Better crank up the volume.

"Terrible for dancing!"

Would they have been? Poland isn't sure about that.

"No, no!" He smiles, dancing along vaguely. "I can dance with those! For sure! I totally did it, under the water, with Liet! It was fun," he concludes, face bright with joy at the memory.

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-03-19 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's amazing!" he notes in awe.

"You have to teach me someday, because..."

He puts his feet closer together to mimic the circumstances and attempts to continue his dance moves. They are clumsy and he stumbles to the side after a moment.

"Because I have no idea how to dance with fins at all!"

Were he less devoid of sense right now, Poland would (probably) point out that he's not too likely to have fins again, but he doesn't really think about that, and if he did, it'd be kind of a downer, and they don't need kind-of-a-downer thoughts when everything is so nice, right?

"Oh, okay! Like. Let's do that!"

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Good point, though if it had been made Philip probably would have cheerfully stated that you can never be too prepared for any eventuality. And clearly being caught unable to dance with fins would be a catastrophy, should the likely necessity ever arise.

"Do you think," Philip looks around, spinning some more. "Do you think this is permanent? Because I think..."

He attempts to access his memories under a thick layer of colours and noise and finds them awfully gloomy in comparison. And at this very moment the reason for that is quite obvious.

"Because I think this has really been missing so far!"

[identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Poland is so with you, man. So with you!

"No clue. It's like, one of those things, right? You never know." He is suddenly fascinated with Philip's hair, and reaches up to touch it. Hair! "What's been mission, though? Missing. That word."

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"There were never... enough colours! It's- it's the light! And the music! And the hair!"

...And the hair?

No. Wait. That's the other thing!

He moves closer and leans forward to allow for closer hair inspection.

"How's it doing?"

Philip wouldn't know, given that he rarely talks to his own hair, but at this very moment he has every reason to believe that Poland is an expert on the matter.

"Oh, man, you're so right," Poland gushes, because the light, and the music, and the hair. He hums happily, reaching up to run both hands through that hair. And he's totally an expert, so it makes sense that Philip would think that!

"It's like. So cool, man, ohmigod. It's totes like a hedgehog! A nice one. A happy one."

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
For the first time since propelling himself into the land of high kites Philip looks worried.

"I... I'm not sure that's good, I--"

He stands up straight and strokes his own hair very carefully.

"What if it falls down?"

Who? Why, his hair hedgehog of course!

"Do you think... Do you think I should stop dancing?"

That thought is positively distressing to him, but he would hate to hurt an innocent animal.

[identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that certainly is problematic. Poland frowns in thought for a long moment, then puts both hands atop Philip's head and presses down, to make sure the hedgehog sticks.

Philip tentatively surveys hair doctor Poland's work by gently petting it with one, then both hands.

He moves his head slowly, then faster, then very fast, then throws it about wildly.

He stops. Strokes his hair again.

"It..."

He beams.

"It worked! You did it!"

[identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Poland beams, patting Philip gently on the hedgehog. "So like, all fixed, right? It's okay now!"

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"It really is!"

He breathes a sigh of relief and continues dancing, even happier than before.

"I don't know what we would have done without you!"

[identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Tch'yeah, it's totally a good thing I was here to help!"

Indeed, the world is an even shinier, happier place now that he has saved an innocent creature from falling to its doom and allowed Philip to dance in peace!
