Summary: The Garden is making friends!
The Story:
There is a thread for each of the Garden NPCs, even those whose interactions can be hand-waved (just in case!). Their effects are also there, as a reminder.

Anyone can respond to any of the NPCs, even if you didn't sign up on the event announcement post. In the subject of the tag, indicate when during the event the interaction takes place, and where if possible. This will serve as a point of reference. Both prose and action-style tags are welcome!

"They don't usually expand like this overnight!" He throws his arms out, gesturing at the changes. "Not to mention the fact that you're talking. The flowers here didn't talk before."

[gardenparty]

"Perhaps there was no one worth talking to."

[learnedsomething]

"But I haven't changed! No one here has! Why would you suddenly deign to talk to us?" He clenches his fists, his eyes scrunched closed, then slumps back with a sigh. "Ugh. Sorry, forget it. Just - do you know what's coming next? Who's coming next?"

[gardenparty]

"I'm certain you weren't here when I was born, my friend." The Rose's petals uncurl a bit more. "Are you expecting anyone to come?"

[learnedsomething]

"So you only sprouted recently?" He shakes his head. "Not really expecting - I mean, you can't really expect anything here. I just miss someone, that's all."

[gardenparty]

"Recent is a relative term, I think."

The Rose quivers in thought.

"Is it a good friend that you're missing?"

[learnedsomething]

"That's true. So, within the last couple of days?"

He nods, no longer meeting what he assumes to be the rose's gaze.

"Yeah. My best friend. We've never been apart this long before."

[gardenparty]

"It would be hard to say. The life of a flower does have different cycles from the life of a human."

A beat.

"That is unfortunate. We flowers don't often find ourselves without more company that we can handle."

[learnedsomething]

If that's a hint that the rose is bored of Kyle's presence, he's not taking it.

"There's lots of company here. It's just not him."

[gardenparty]

The Rose may not be as blunt as some of the other flowers, but she is always polite.

"I am sorry. Perhaps... Well perhaps I can help a bit."

[learnedsomething]

"How?" He looks alarmed. "Can you make flower clones of people?"

[gardenparty]

"No. That wouldn't be the same, would it?"

The Rose shakes a bit, then unfurls its petals completely to reveal a photograph of Kyle and his friends.

"This isn't the same, either, but perhaps it will tide you over, my dear."

Kyle reaches out tentatively, concerned it might be a trap - but he snatches it as soon as he's in touching range, scared it might be taken away again. He holds it close to his face, totally not hiding moist eyes.

"How did you do this? I mean - this was in my drawer at home. How did you get it?"

[gardenparty]

"It was intuition. I hope I didn't upset you with it! I thought you would like to see it."

[learnedsomething]

He lowers it, his eyes bright, but he's smiling.

"No, dude, I - it's great. Really. I needed this."

[gardenparty]

"I'm glad, Kyle." The Rose pulls its petals closed again. "It's good to see you smile."
