Summary: The Garden is making friends!
The Story:
There is a thread for each of the Garden NPCs, even those whose interactions can be hand-waved (just in case!). Their effects are also there, as a reminder.

Anyone can respond to any of the NPCs, even if you didn't sign up on the event announcement post. In the subject of the tag, indicate when during the event the interaction takes place, and where if possible. This will serve as a point of reference. Both prose and action-style tags are welcome!

So somehow or another, Dirk ended up in the Garden. It seemed legit. People mentioned the Garden, he hadn't ever really seen actual flora in any meaningful quantity unless you counted seaweed and kelp? It seemed like a good idea at the time. (Which also coincidentally made for an amazing set of last words. The sort of thing you'd shout five minutes before the explosion: it seemed like a good idea at th-! Boom.) So fuck yes, going to see the sights and sounds of Wonderland.

...plus, by the sounds of it, if there was going to be anything bad it wasn't like he'd be able to avoid it anyway. Might as well face it.

And he was about to go check out the...roses, let's say, when Dirk got tragically and regrettably distracted by what appeared to be a...rocking-horsefly?

John figures Jade is probably not lying and this is just an event and not a thing she did with a faulty chemistry set or whatever. So he might as well hang out in the Garden just in case something goes crazy and dangerous and his sister gets trapped in a bunch of vines like something out of a hentai. Eww.

So he ventures in, not sure whether he's ready to carry on a conversation with a talking plant or bug just yet.

Might as well go for it all at once...

Dave was just meandering about listlessly in the Garden. It was a decent summer afternoon, for once. So, why the hell not take a bit of a jaunt?

[ June 27, morning; the gardens ]

After hearing that there are talking flowers in the gardens, Bartz went to investigate. It's a fairly boring day, after all, and he don't really have anything to do aside from doing more exploring, wandering around aimlessly, and meeting new people (or talking to them via the network). The mansion is a curious place indeed, and the latest event, although left him feeling weirded out, still strikes his curiosity.

Wondering what the next event would be like, he sauntered over to the gardens. It's a nice day out (though it's actually redundant to say so, since every day is a nice day out for Bartz), and if there's anything weird with the place, he haven't noticed it...yet.

Sometimes, nature is one of those things that can relax Tara out of a transition. She's managed to hold off transitioning for a few days, at least, so for once she's able to enjoy the garden for herself.

She just hopes the talking plants aren't too talkative. She's not sure if she can handle that.

June 29th, in the garden

Shinjiro has grown in the habit of taking short naps outside in the garden. He likes the warm temperatures and the fresh air.

Normally, he doesn't get bothered while doing this. But today, he just can't tune out the chatter he hears. Upon waking up, the garden plants appear a lot bigger and even more bountiful. However, he can't find the source of the speakers.

"Damn it...Can you keep it down?"

Maybe they'll hear him and buzz off.

((Not sure if it'll be important to the thread or not, but I'm only planning to shrink Shinjiro a little bit; a little taller than a house cat and not micro-sized like others are doing.))

Now Patricia didn't care much for super girly things like flowers, but these ones were new.

She looks the tiger-lily over and puts a hand on her hip, the other holding a cigar to her lips in thought. "Hmmm..." It was kinda pretty, she guessed. Time to just flick cigar ashes on it.

Talking with the Roses will make people very energetic. Characters will specifically want to perform physical activities such as running, dancing, gymnastics, etc.

+ The White Rose +

There is a single White Rose in the Garden. If characters speak to it, it will give them a small item from home of the player's choice, as long as the item is small enough to be held in the palm of the character's hand. (Note this is the mun's choice, not the character's.)

This Rose doesn't just pop out gifts--you have to talk to her first! Let me know before the end of the thread what item you'd like the character to receive!

After confirming that Jade hadn't been misinformed about the talking flowers, Kyle decides to see what the flowers have to say for themselves. So he heads to the first one he can confidently name - a solitary rose. He squats down beside it, internally cringing at how ridiculous the situation is.

"Hi, uh, Rose."

((OOC: I'd still Kyle to get a photo of him with his besties Stan and Kenny and that one asshole who's always around, ruining his life.))

6/30 : Dining Room

Minato had been in the Dining Room with Souji as if there hadn't been anything too out of the ordinary. They had to eat, after all, and the Dining Room was one place to do that. The only difference in terms of the space was that there were now plants growing all over the room and insects buzzing around.

There was one other difference though, and that was with Minato himself. It wasn't entirely all that surprising given the way Wonderland worked, but he hadn't expected to start turning into a plant. Not that he had been bothered by it. Where his blue hair used to fall over his eye was now a single, blue-toned leaf in the same general shape and style of his bangs. Smaller leaves grew along behind the shells of his ears, mostly still hiding in his hair.

He set his teacup down and glanced over at what seemed like the only vivid spot of white in the room. He indicated over to it with his head.

"... Have you talked to that one yet?"

July 1st

Shit, after the weird conversation with the Gnat, and all the crazy shit happening with the other insects and flowers, one would think that Dave doesn't want anything to do with plants for a long time. Yet, here he is, wandering around amongst the various flora. He is surprised to see a lone flower, and decides to...talk to it, since that's a thing flowers do, now.

"Anybody try to paint you red?"

This has to be the first time Nepeta has seen a white rose in her life. She saw the other colors after exploring around the plant life suddenly invading the mansion, but....

+ The Daisies +

Anyone in the presence of the Daisies will sing everything he or she wants to say. The Daisies will sing back! And if the character stays long enough, the Daisies will tell him or her a secret.

If you want a secret about Wonderland or the Mansion, please let me know before the end of the thread!

Remember: Interaction with the Daisies can be hand-waved if the character does not stick around to hear the secret or if the secret is about the character or something from the character's canon (if it's about a castmate, please clear it with the other player first!). However, if players want a secret about Wonderland or anything else that is unrelated to the character's canon, it must be cleared with the mods first.

George actually kind of likes nature. It's quiet, and generally uncomplicated. Well, the plants are. Since they don't talk or move. Usually.

So the fact that she's out in the Garden is more or less a thing of morbid curiosity. Since, well, not everything can talk, right? She'll find some nice quiet place to sit and read. These daisies look quiet enough.

She settles onto a nearby bench or whatever happens to be there.

Yeah, nice and quiet.

They won't talk.

Right?

Hmph, better check.

...Okay, that was a little out of character. Clever, maybe, but uh. Different.

The gardens have become so lively lately. Especially when that garden had managed to pop up in his own bedroom, turning half of his bed into a rather complicated mess of vines.

This calls for some investigation!

"I see, this is more of a land of fantasy than one of wonders," Loki mused while crouching down to look at the larkspurs in front of his feet. "It has not brought me any wonders yet."

Being in the presence of the Fawn makes people forget things.

Please refer to the event announcement post for information about where the Fawn will be, it's radius of effect, and how much will be forgotten per length of time in the Fawn's presence.

Battler is somewhat used to Wonderland and its inhabitants by now - after talking pink ponies, not much seems all that strange - but he's still a little surprised to find a fawn in the kitchen as he comes in to get a cup of tea.

"Uh, hello?"

He's hesitant. How are you even supposed to greet an animal? If it turns out not to be sentient, this could be really embarassing. Good thing no one else is around.
