Crash landing is the only way to make an entrance.
Who: Tony Stark, and anyone who comes across him.
Where: Somewhere on the front lawns.
When: July 2
Rating: G most likely
Summary: Tony arrives.
[Tony remembers hitting the ground, he also remembers JARVIS trying to tell him something was interfering with the suit. Everything between these two events are hazy]
...JARVIS?
Sir?
Where are we? And how did something manage to down the suit without touching it?
I am unable to pin point our location, sir. There is no data on what caused the suit to fail. Apart from superficial scratches, it seems that the thrusters are currently offline.
Well fix it, JARVIS.
It seems to be wiring damage, there's nothing I can do, sir.
Good thing we're on the ground then.
[Tony sits up on his elbows and looks around the area, seeing a building not too far away, then he slowly gets up. Opening his mask and looking down at the scratches]
When we get back to the tower, I really need to work on a paint that's harder to scratch off.
Keeping focused on the priorities, like always, sir.
Just focus on finding out where we are, JARVIS.
It may take some time.
I don't care, do it.
At once, sir.

Well, I am now. Just having some technical difficulties.
[He glances around the place before looking back at her]
If this is your place, I can pay for the...
[Looks at the small crater he made]
...New koi pond.
no subject
There's nothing to worry about, this isn't "my place," and I'm certain whatever damage you've done will repair itself in time.
[Wonderland has a funny habit of doing that.]
My name is Evelyn Carnahan. What...might I call you?
[Formalities first, Mister Metal-Man.]
no subject
Well, Evelyn Carnahan. You can call me Tony Stark. Just Tony is fine though.
[He hold out his armoured hand for her to shake]
Yeah, being in this suit isn't normally how these things go.
no subject
[Being on a first-name basis is better, anyway, given the circumstances here.]
Do you...
[Very delicately (and a bit warily), she moves closer to shake his hand. The metal isn't cold, as she previously assumed, but slightly warm, a low mechanical hum under the surface.]
...always wear this suit around?
no subject
[He looks down at the suit]
...Only when I'm saving the world from evil. Normally what I wear makes me look even better.
no subject
I should hope so, right now you look like something out of a Jules Verne novel.
[...all right, so maybe her references date her just a little bit.]
no subject
Verne wishes he had my tech. You have good taste in books, that's for sure.
no subject
[Comes the appreciative reply, as compliments aren't something she receives all that often.]
I, ah- I suppose I should show you around, though, shouldn't I? You being new here and all.

[She pauses.]
Mister Sta- Tony.
[Old habits are hard to break.]
If you don't mind my asking, what is the year where you come from?
no subject
[He looks at Evelyn as she almost calls him Mr. Stark]
Hey, okay this could be weird but could you just...
Rest the back of your hand on your head, tilt back a bit then say 'Ohh, Mr. Stark!'?
[He imitates the pose for her to do]
Before landing her I was half way through Twenty twelve. Why?
1/2
2/2
Re: 2/2
1926? Wow, Well you know, you look great for your age then. Being pulled out of time really agrees with you.
If this is Wonderland, where are the playing cards or croquet flamingos?
no subject
[A very prim and English response to the compliment.
Oh yes, he's certainly very charming, and also apparently used to getting his way. Some of these future people sure do have a lot of nerve.]
This is a rather more strange Wonderland compared to the one you must be familiar with if you, like many others, have read Lewis Carroll. There's still a caterpillar, a Queen of Hearts and all that, but they tend to leave us to our own devices for the most part.
Every couple of weeks, though, an "event" which tends to be rather reality-altering happens, and after a couple of days, everything returns to normal again.
[Evie pauses, because she's given this tour so many times now that she sometimes forgets what is the most important.]
...rooms aren't assigned, so I can show you to an empty one, if you'd like?
no subject
If we can pick our own rooms, I can figure that out later. I'm... Well let's go with picky for now, it's quicker and less character defacing. So just show me what's important. Like the bar.
no subject
You're in luck, actually. Some residents established a bar a couple of months ago.
[Drinking isn't precisely Evelyn's favourite pastime, seeing as she's quite awful at it and has a very low tolerance, but she can appreciate why people enjoy it.
So she leads the way back to the looming mansion.]
I should also note that you can get almost anything from the closets.
no subject
Now there's a place you'll have to show me.
[He raises an eyebrow at her slightly]
Almost anything from the closets? a full service Narnia, huh? Creative, I'll give it that.
no subject
[She might need to catch up on her fiction-reading, just a little bit.]
You can't retrieve items of a personal nature, or rather, items specifically from your own world that you used to own, but just about everything else appears to be available.
[Up some stairs. Down another hallway. And voila! A door marked 5/5.]
Here it is. I'm not certain if either of the men who run it are in right now, but there's plenty of alcohol.

[Just showing him into the bar, lalala~]
no subject
Mechanic, engineer, scientist, industrialist, super hero. You name it I've probably dabbled in it, or made money from it.
[Turns to face her, with a smile]
What about you? I'm getting a school teacher vibe of you, to be honest.
no subject
Librarian, actually.
[A sexy librari- Wait, no, let's not go there.]
And Egyptologist. I specialise in translations; I'm rather good with languages.
no subject
Well, with your hair and skirt like that. I should have figured that out really.
[Too late, his mind was there since teacher]
Egyptology, huh. Why do I keep finding myself in the company of really attractive women who know dead languages?
[He raises a cautious eyebrow at her]
You wouldn't happen to know; taibo, karate or anything like that, would you?
[Wouldn't exactly love the idea of having another Natasha to deal with. One of her is enough.]
no subject
Evie would have been flustered several months ago about being called attractive by a fast-talking American, but now all that she offers Tony is a demure smile.]
I'm afraid I don't, actually. But I've got a mean right hook.
[Leaning over the bar, she reaches for a glass and looks back over her shoulder at him.]
Are you a whiskey sort of fellow, or would you prefer something else?
