[Event!]
Who: Everyone!
Where: Dream bubbles
When: 9/15-9/16
Rating: PG
Summary: Everyone is stuck with their memories. And some other people.
The Story:
This log's pretty straightforward. There is one thread per group for the first day or two of the event, before people are able to leave their initial dream bubble groupings. ♥ If you have any questions, grab a mod on AIM.
EDIT: The mods have decided to let everyone continue with phase two of the event in this one log, since there's overlap between being stuck in the bubbles and moving between them.
So if you're posting to a group thread that isn't your initial group, just your thread with what day of the event it takes place on so people will know it's not from the first day or so.

day three (if it's okay? o/)
Of course, he wasn't expecting to find himself in a courtblock as soon as he entered this bubble, but when he sees Redglare's hanging body, he can figure out how he got here.
"...You might as well just come the fuck down from there, don't you think?"
His voice comes out calm, which he appreciates. This is all a memory, but it's Redglare's memory, and that's reason enough to be wary.
YES IT IS
The memory is fading to dark around Karkat, coming to a close until he opens his mouth and it sort of hits her. What is keeping her from coming down. This has already happened.
'Idiot.' She thinks to herself, pulling off her gloves to reveal sharpened claws, 'You're dead, remember?'
Now that the crowds aren't restraining her, she's free to slice the ropes multiple times with her claws. It takes a while, but she comes down eventually.
"What are you doing here?"
The eyes looking but not seeing Karkat are white, slowly bleeding back to red.

He glances around at the dark setting, then looks back at Redglare, intending to keep his distance if he can.

"Fair enough," she says, inhaling and reaching out. It's easier to manipulate this, to remember the smell of her cane and the feel of it in her hand. It drops into her waiting palm and she closes her hand around it and resists the urge to hold it to her chest. Resists the urge to remind herself that Pyralspite is alone now. He's a big dragon. He can take care of himself.
"We are leaving. Now."
Redglare walks towards him with clipped steps, tense and uneasy. She reaches up and pulls the noose off her neck and tosses it into the abyss before reaching out to Karkat with a lightly teal-stained and ungloved hand.
no subject
"Come this way."
He can easily lead her into another memory--his lawnring is just outside this area.

She loosens her grip on his hand and she follows him like she did his ancestor's teachings.

He glances around and sees his own hive a ways away, but he isn't really ready to head over that way.
no subject
"Somethings never change," she says, sniffing ahead again. "And some things do."
no subject
He finally starts across the grass.

Redglare shrugs and moves ever onward. "Sometimes it is the way events turn out. Your world is the future and mine is the past. There was a time that I thought the castes would go on until I died. And they did only because I never expected myself to die in such a way."
She turns back to look at him, and tilts her head the the side. "But it didn't go on for you and your friends, did it?"

no subject
She's not sure if that's tragic or an improvement.

He heads into his hive. Come on, Redglare, no reason to stay outside. He pretty much ignores Crabdad, though.
"But before our race went extinct, the caste system was still around and going strong."
no subject
"I see the arrangements were made satisfactorily."
It's proof enough. He remembers a hive and a lusus. The cult did something right without her to guide them.
"And I doubt it would have ever ended, if not for you and your friends. Revolutions in our race are quickly and brutally culled."

You'll have to forgive her ignorance, Karkat. The Summoner's revolution was long after her time, and the mansion's library isn't exactly tops on Alternian history. Or Alternian anything, really.

"There was some kind of uprising or whatever by the lower castes and the Empress decided adults couldn't live on the planet anymore."
no subject
It makes so much sense, though. She wishes the cult hadn't been so moral and strict. Indoctrinating a generation would have gotten them so far if they hadn't been so moral.

She sniffs around for a moment at the remnants of his life. Posters of things she doesn't recognize, and a few other knick-knacks. She even takes a few tongue swipes at his lusus before asking the obvious.
"This is your lusus, correct?"

She immediately starts surveying his lusus and surroundings more intently. Recooperacoon, futuristic media, computer, posters showing various interests. She's mildly fascinated. She honestly didn't think that the whole plan would work this well.
"You were provided for as you aged. I suppose the lack of adults made that easier." Her tone doesn't sound much like someone who's surprised. Mostly vaguely intrigued.

Granted, they are not truly breaking any laws.
And yes, she is still keeping up this facade. Thanks for asking.

"Are you done assaulting my fake lusus yet?"
