VALENTINE'S DAY CATCH ALL 12th-17th
Who: Anyone and everyone who wants to participate
Where: Literally every corner of the known universe
When: Again with the questions...
Rating: BIG BIG HORRIBLE WARNING LOTS OF DEATH AND FIGHTING AND GRAPHIC EVERYTHING I think you might need an adult...
Summary:
THIS IS A CATCH ALL LOG FOR THE DURATION OF THIS SITUATION
Here's what happens. If you want interaction with HARRY OR TOM, if you want to have a short thread with someone discovering a BODY or someone who is WOUNDED or generally just want some blood and guts it happens in here.
THAT BEING SAID if you want to write a log? Do it. I'm just trying to control the madness in one place...as if that might be easier to manage. It also means the community isn't TOO flooded with bodies and boxes of chocolate so those wanting to bypass this event will have less to look at.
IF YOU ARE A VICTIM, YOU MAY POST YOUR DEATH POST IN HERE
I mean, you can if you want but also feel free to make an independent post. Up to you.
Comment in with a header including date and place for whatever situation you're doing so we can just keep track. I'll do the same.
Questions, comments, plurk or aim or pm me. x

Even so, she's been changing the sheets on the bed, organizing supplies, and checking in with the patients who she has, such as Sam, though at the moment he's passed out due to all the pain medication.
So it takes her a moment to realize that there's someone there, though eventually her senses pick up on it, sending a spike of fear up her spine until she turns around and finds Daryl.
You're back.
"... So you heard? I suppose news travels fast." Martha moves toward Daryl, pushing up on tiptoes to peer over his shoulder as she can't quite curb her paranoia right now. "Are you all right? Been staying safe?"
no subject
...He may just turn to peer down the hallway himself, actually. Can't be too careful.
Once he's satisfied it's reasonably safe, though, he turns back to Martha, and when he does, it's hard to miss how worn out she looks. He frowns.
"Fine," he says, though it sounds a little hollow. "How you doin'? You wake up in the back? Wasn't sure where else-- Needed to keep the beds clear."
He's operating on the (incorrect and entirely illogical) assumption that she knows who'd found and moved her, and so he continues without much pause, craning his head to get a look at the people in the beds: "Lookin' like that was a good call, Christ... Got more people than when I left."
no subject
When he starts asking her questions, it takes her a moment, but then it clicks that he's the one who found her and took her back there. Martha glances up, staring at Daryl for a few seconds, even as he keeps talking.
It takes a moment for her to catch up with him, and she nods slowly. "Yeah, seems like that madman's going after everyone." She's relieved that not everyone met the same fate that she did.
"But you're the one who found me? I didn't find out, the Doctor wasn't sure..." Martha can't even imagine how she'd looked, and trying to picture her own dead body is enough to make her heart start beating a bit harder, so she gives up on that quickly.
no subject
But regardless of the efficacy of a gun against someone that may or may not be human, he wouldn't let Martha get killed again, there's just no way.
"No pattern far's I can see..." Not that he's been looking too hard- this ain't CSI.
"And yeah, I was the first one in here. Couple other people showed up after, cleaned the place up-- Al, America... Emma, too. Other doctor, Victor, he took care of things up front while we got shit together..." He chews at his lip, unable to shake the slight guilt he feels at having left her back there like that.
"Somebody with you when you woke up...?"
Because he'd woken up alone, after, and that'd almost been worse than biting it in the first place. Hard to tell what blood's yours when you got no injuries to speak of...
no subject
And that makes it worse for her, really. Maybe if she could at least understand some semblance of a motive, it might give her a small peace of mind.
Martha's shocked to hear that so many people came and helped out, though. That explains how the clinic had looked so spotless when her blood had surely been all over it before. She smiles, for a moment overcome with the realization that she's got loads of people looking out for her.
"The Doctor was," she says in response to his question. "He's the one I traveled with, you know..." She trails off, assuming that Daryl can fill in the blanks. They've shared their backgrounds with each other, due to that truth event.
Without saying much else, Martha draws closer to Daryl to give him a hug. It's her way of thanking him for taking care of her when she wasn't even aware of it, and for caring in the first place. He doesn't strike her as the touchy-feely type, but everyone can make exceptions, can't they?
no subject
And speaking of-- he lets her go, accepting that hug with only mild awkwardness. He even lifts his hands and sets them at her upper arms, squeezing lightly before dropping them to his sides. At this point, yeah, it's still an exception... But the longer he's here the more comfortable with this kind of crap he becomes. Imagine that.
...It doesn't mean he's gonna let the contact linger, though- after a second he pulls back with a slight frown.
"How long's he been here? Don't know if I've seen him."
no subject
It's something she can ponder another time.
"Well, it's a bit complicated. He's been here a few times." In the first instance, he'd been a future version of himself, and that had been a complex situation to deal with. He'd disappeared soon after, though, so Martha hadn't been given much time to work through it.
Then he'd come again, in a more familiar form, lasting for a few weeks before disappearing once more. And now there's this. Third time's the charm?
"This time around, though, he arrived on the last day of my event." She and Daryl had spent some time fortifying the mansion just a day or so before the Doctor showed up again. "He's still very new."
no subject
"That ain't long at all." He frowns. "...Picked a hell of a time to show up." He usually feels for the new people, but the ones who'd been dropped here just to be a part of the bullshit that's going on right now? He sure as hell don't envy 'em.
Crossing his arms, he peers over Martha's shoulder to the beds, where he can see a few people resting.
"Sure as hell ain't slowin' down..." And then he looks at her. "You slept at all?"
He hadn't, much, not for a few days when he'd come back. He'd kept it quiet, of course, but he'd been running on empty for at least a week or so afterward.
no subject
Still, he'd been there for her when she'd come back, and that's something Martha won't forget so quickly.
At this point, Martha suspects that the clinic is going to have at least a few patients in it for a while, so it's a good thing that she has some volunteers to rely on, not to mention Victor.
"No," she says in response to Daryl's question. "I only woke up earlier today, so..." The way she sees it, she'd gotten plenty of rest while she'd been dead, and now there are people that need her. She isn't that eager to lay down and close her eyes again.
no subject
"Right. You got things under control here, then? Don't know if there's a whole lot I could do with--" he waves a hand toward the current patients. "-All that..."
By which he means 'those people are more banged up than I know how to fix'. And considering he hadn't come across that asshole while wandering the halls, he's sort of at a loss, here, full of energy with no outlet for it.
Part of him wants to stay here, make sure if the miner comes back there's someone here in the condition to do something about it...
no subject
Not that she'd mind Daryl staying here to keep an eye on things, but she's not going to demand it of him either.
"It seems we've got things handled for now, thank you," she says with a small smile. People are hurt, but at least everyone's stable.
"What do you plan to do?" Martha hopes the answer isn't "hunt down that killer," but she honestly wouldn't be surprised. This is Daryl, after all.
no subject
Still, he isn't one to side idle:
"Thinkin' about stayin' on this floor," he says, nodding at the patients again. "He comes back here we're gonna have a problem."
He won't go looking, no, but he'll do his best to keep anyone- or anything- that don't need help from getting in here.
"Still don't know if shootin' him's gonna do any good but it's better than nothin'."
no subject
"I'm not sure, either. I'd say if you see him? Aim for non-vital areas and then run away." It's not worth it for Daryl to lose another life to this madman.
Martha looks him over, letting out a sigh and then offering a small smile.
"Make sure you check in, yeah? I want to be sure you're all right. And... thank you again." Martha almost reaches out to pat Daryl on the shoulder, but she refrains. The hug was probably enough.

(What is Wind Waker?)
"Kneecaps it is, then." Kneecaps, shins... Guts. Although if he thinks he can make a head shot (and he can always make a head shot) he'll be trying that too. He's real thorough like that.
"I will. Nothin's gettin' in here," he adds, just for some extra reassurance. You're free to do your thing in here, he's got your back. He turns toward the door again, but stops before heading out. ONE MOOOORE THING:
"Lemme know if you need more hands in here."
GOD I HATED THOSE GUYS IN WIND WAKER
Martha truly does feel comforted knowing that Daryl's going to be on the lookout, though. He's competent, he's used to crises like these, and he's dependable. She's definitely made a good friend in him, that's for certain.
At that final comment, she nods. "I'll give you a ring if we get swamped."
She's willing to let him go, but not before saying, "Take care out there, Daryl." The last thing she wants is for him to end up dead because of her.
RIGHT THOSE FUCKERS HAUNT MY NIGHTMARES
"He ain't gonna catch me sleepin'."
And then he's off
to ruin little elf boys's livesto do the only thing he can really do in this situation: stay on top of shit.
