And I would walk 500 miles... [OPEN]

Who: Jack Sparrow and YOU.
Where: Anywhere in Wonderland. Literally, anywhere.
When: After all the murders and stuff.
Rating: PG-ish??? idk guys, I play a pirate.
Summary: When there's no events going on, Jack wanders, with a lack of anything else to do.
The Story: Jack walks at least five miles every day.

He's long since calculated exactly how many steps it takes to reach that quota. Wonderland makes him feel trapped -- he's never spent this much time on land before; he's never spent this much time in one location before -- and it fills him with a restless sort of energy he's not entirely sure what to do with. And so, he wanders.

But anxious energy isn't the only reason why he walks everyday. The events in Wonderland have a good amount to do with it. While some events don't seem to affect him at all, others were dangerous. And Jack wasn't about to let this place get the best of him. Not when he can just as easily fight back. And so, he wanders. Five miles a day.

But that's not to say he doesn't stop to chat, to eat, to drink. Because Jack knows that building up connections is just as valuable as being physically ready, if not even more so. And so he makes sure to stop and chat with Ellen as he passes the bar, as well as anyone else he might come across as he wanders up the stairs, down the stairs, through the mansion halls and outside on the grounds.

While no one person has ever dared steal the TARDIS away from him, he has lost her on a few occasions, usually due to gravity doing its work or because of unsound structures and bad landings, but even then, the few times he's realized he might never see his ship again have hardly made him happy.

And he's not used to being useless either, which he's starting to realize could become a possibility.

"Well, I suppose they look a bit normal, really, though I'm fairly sure they wear fabulous hats as well." And Jack's is especially fabulous, and even though the conditions of his clothes leave something to be desired, the Doctor has enough of an imagination to picture them as they could be, if they were repaired and kept well. As for the beads and dangles, they just contribute to the whole look, and so the Doctor appreciates them as well.

"I suppose it could be, but old-fashioned or not, I still like it."

I guess it's an occupational hazard of playing someone like Jack. Happens to me too with the Doctor.

Perhaps he should have taken a leaf from Jack's book and picked out a fabulous hat to go along with his ensemble back on that Christmas Day not too long ago. But he hadn't had the foresight to realize just how attractive a well-placed pirate's hat can be. And he hadn't met the pirate captain either, so that clearly explains everything.

But he can't keep from lighting up in response to Jack's compliments about his coat. "I know, isn't it? I'm a bit fond of it, you know. It's very comfortable, keeps out all kinds of weather, and if I might say it, gives a man a particular look." He does stop to ponder if it could be called a captain's coat or not, but in the end he decides it can, even if he's not officially designated a captain. "And I suppose you could call it that, yeah."

And while the Doctor can somewhat understand the importance of rum and wenches (that one's a bit harder to grasp), it's his understanding that money is no object in Wonderland, which works for him, since he usually never has any. The closets see to all their needs, including but not limited to clothing, so Jack could easily satisfy himself there, if he were of a mind to.

But really, he can also understand not needing more than one set of clothes. He has a few himself, but he rotates those around as the mood and situation calls for it. He doesn't need more than those several outfits, as they've served him very well thus far.

"So, I wonder: where have you been? Seeing as how you're a pirate and everything which implies you do a lot of sailing, what places have you seen?"
