Who: Charlie Bradbury and anyone!
Where: Hopping from place to place so...anywhere floaty.
When: Feb 28th-March 3rd
Rating: pgish? It's just adventure time!
Summary: Charlie finds herself stranded in the library and decides she's going to risk a few jumps.
The Story:
Charlie's not exactly sure how it happens, or when, but it's easy enough to see something's up when she opens the door to leave the library and finds the hallway not where it should be.
Nothing is where it should be. Happy she didn't have her nose stuck in a book, which would have ended with her falling to her ultimate doom, she leans out the door to peer down at the ground.
The ground that's so far down her head starts to spin a little.
Pulling back, she closes her eyes and concentrates on her breathing. "Okay, relax. No biggie, no biggie. I'm just in a free floating library, cut off from everything. Totally normal."
Naturally, she doesn't manage to entirely convince herself of this. Staying put is tempting, it really is, but there's something that pushes her back to the door, standing on the ledge and looking out at the other rooms that seem to suspend in mid air around her.
Managing to keep her calm, a piece of hallway starts to travel by slowly, close enough that she can just step onto it and travel around.
That seems like a lot more fun than just staying put.
And with a deep breath, she takes a leap, landing ungracefully in the hallway with an 'oomf'. Turning around, there's a slightly astonished laugh from her as the library moves in a different direction.
"Okay. I can totally do this." It's short when compared to most pep talks, but she's feeling the excitement of ADVENTURE coming on, and with that starts to travel through whatever pieces are nearby, careful not to get too cocky with her leaps.

He has been focusing mainly on getting supplies, food and water, and a safe place where he can rest, knowing that if he turns in his sleep he won't simply roll off the piece of land. But most of all he is looking for someone, Tauriel. Wherever she may be right now, he must make sure if she is alright.
But he is yet to even find anyone at all, which is why when he spots someone hopping onto the piece of garden where he is, stumbling a little as she lands, he quickly jumps to his feet and walks over, fooled for just a second by her bright red hair. "Are you alright?"
no subject
A look down. Huh.
"You out on a jumping adventure, too?" She smiles easily, wondering if this is someone who has been around a while or one of the new kids like herself.
...though, really, she shouldn't be thinking of herself as 'new' anymore. She's been here three months, or almost that long.
(OOC: I was so tickled to see Kili! How do you feel about fourth wall breaking with him? I'm more than happy to not if that's what you prefer. ♥ Charlie is a huge lotr fan. )

He glances around them briefly, seeing that no one else is in that piece of land, then peeks around her to the piece where she came from. "You did not happen to run into someone named Tauriel, have you? Tall woman-- well, an elf, actually. Long hair, about the same color as yours. I have been looking for her."
((ooc: Oh man, I hadn't even thought about that when I tagged in! But YES DEFINITELY! I would absolutely love to!!! <3))
:DDD
Excuse that excited note in her voice, but seriously. Elves. It's not surprising, not when she's run into wizards and space marines and whoever else. Still thrilling.
"I haven't seen any elves around, but I will totally give you a heads up if I run into her." And possibly squeal in delight if she does meet Tauriel. Oh wait, maybe she should give him her name, shouldn't she? "I'm Charlie."
no subject
"I have seen no other elves around, truthfully. So she might even be the only one in this place." He has not seen the sort of elves he is used to, at the very least. Who knows what kinds of worlds this land could reach, and what other different elves could exist in them?
"Oh, of course. Apologies, Lady Charlie. I am Kíli," he stands a little more upright, before bending over in a bow. "At your service!"
no subject
"Hey, I kinda like that. 'Lady Charlie'." She chuckles before she realizes she actually recognizes his name. "Kili? Hang on a sec."
She even holds a finger up, not that he seems like he's about to run off or anything like that. It's more for her benefit, while she tries to wrap her brain around his name.
"As in brother to Fili? Nephew of Thorin?" Her brain has short circuited a little, so she doesn't even think about the fact she knows things about him that, to his perspective, she shouldn't. "No. Frakin'. Way."
no subject
"I am, yes! Sister-son of Thorin Oakenshield!" It is only a few seconds until he finally frowns slightly, though his tone remains light. "How do you know of the Durin line? You are not from any land from Middle Earth, of that I am sure."
He looks quite pointedly at her clothes, perhaps even a bit rudely, but he means no offense. Maybe she met someone else here who was from his world. He had been told that people in this place came and went all the time, after all.
no subject
"I kinda...sorta...read about it." Obsessively. Since she was little. He doesn't need to know that, though. "I'm from a totally different place, but we've got all kinds of stories from Middle Earth."
no subject
He already misses home more than enough as it is, and though he does have one person here to talk about it, it is always nice to find there is after all someone else who would at least know of it.
"So what sort of stories do you know of my world? You know of Ered Luin, and Erebor? The Shire? Rivendell or Mirkwood?" He is doing no more than listing a few of the locations he has seen so far, eager, and perhaps even a bit too excited given their current situation, to find someone who knows what he talks about.
no subject
"Oh, man, so many." Including his own impending death, but that's definitely not on the table to talk about. Like, ever. "You're trying to reclaim your home, right? Trying to get the arkenstone. Is Smaug really as scary as the stories say?"
And she knows he is, he even terrified her in the books, but talking to someone who's actually seen the dragon just prompts her to ask about him.
"Did he leave the mountain yet or...?" She trails off, not wanting to give too much away in case he hasn't reached that point yet.
no subject
"I did not get to see him yet. I had an injury," he rests a hand over his own leg. "Pierced by a Morgul arrow. I stayed behind in Lake Town with my brother and others. I can't remember much after that... I think I had passed out before being brought to this place."
Kíli is not exactly the brightest of the dwarves, but still after a moment there is curiosity in his eye, as he catches on to her last words. "Wait... He leaves the mountain?"
no subject
"Yeah, totally. He, uh, attacks Lake Town." So, get ready for that one, Kíli. "And there's a huge battle that's going to go down soon after he gets shot down."
And she doesn't elaborate, since that's the fight he ends up losing his life in.
no subject
"But the dragon, it does get shot down?" A grin brightens his face. "So we win! We reclaim Erebor!!"
Ignorance truly is bliss.
"That is wonderful! Is this a gift of yours? You can see the things to come?"
no subject
"You guys definitely win, trust me on that." At least as far as it pertains to claiming their home back. "And no, no way. That is definitely a gift I do not want. We've just got your world's history where I'm from."
Yes, make it sound like history books and old stories. No way she is letting him in on the fictional part of that - and honestly, the world has never truly been fictional for her.
no subject
How exciting, truly! He could ask for no more than to know that his adventures will be retold for many generations to come. The young dwarf is nearly brimming with joy.
"I should love to hear more about all the stories of Middle Earth that you know, Lady Charlie. Though maybe another day, when this place is not breaking itself into parts," he glances about them. "Were you headed somewhere in particular? I can go with you."
no subject
Then again, breaking everyone's fourth wall around here has just been met with amusement or slight bafflement. Maybe she'll be okay. She can do this.
"I'm always up for storytime!" It's cheerfully said as she gives a firm nod. "My schedule's pretty clear, just shoot me a text or give me a ring or hunt me down somewhere."
For real, she's always got time for a dwarf.
"Didn't have a destination in mind. Was sorta letting the path just take me. I'm being all zen about it."
no subject
"A true unexpected adventure, then." Kíli much likes the sound of that. Certainly better than sitting around and waiting for Tauriel to come to him instead. "All zen? Is that how you call it in your land?"
no subject
And here she pauses, brow furrowing. "Actually, more like where the floating staircases take me."
no subject
"That does seem more fitting to our current situation, yes. Letting the wind take you may turn into a most tragic accident right now, after all."
