Who: Charlie Bradbury and anyone!
Where: Hopping from place to place so...anywhere floaty.
When: Feb 28th-March 3rd
Rating: pgish? It's just adventure time!
Summary: Charlie finds herself stranded in the library and decides she's going to risk a few jumps.
The Story:
Charlie's not exactly sure how it happens, or when, but it's easy enough to see something's up when she opens the door to leave the library and finds the hallway not where it should be.
Nothing is where it should be. Happy she didn't have her nose stuck in a book, which would have ended with her falling to her ultimate doom, she leans out the door to peer down at the ground.
The ground that's so far down her head starts to spin a little.
Pulling back, she closes her eyes and concentrates on her breathing. "Okay, relax. No biggie, no biggie. I'm just in a free floating library, cut off from everything. Totally normal."
Naturally, she doesn't manage to entirely convince herself of this. Staying put is tempting, it really is, but there's something that pushes her back to the door, standing on the ledge and looking out at the other rooms that seem to suspend in mid air around her.
Managing to keep her calm, a piece of hallway starts to travel by slowly, close enough that she can just step onto it and travel around.
That seems like a lot more fun than just staying put.
And with a deep breath, she takes a leap, landing ungracefully in the hallway with an 'oomf'. Turning around, there's a slightly astonished laugh from her as the library moves in a different direction.
"Okay. I can totally do this." It's short when compared to most pep talks, but she's feeling the excitement of ADVENTURE coming on, and with that starts to travel through whatever pieces are nearby, careful not to get too cocky with her leaps.

"That was really good timing."
He had to raise his voice to be heard, but he seemed more interested than afraid.
"I haven't tried jumping anywhere, yet. I wasn't sure if it would make the pieces flip over."
It's nice to see she didn't fall, at least.
"Do you think we could make pieces move, doing that?"
no subject
"Hey, thanks. I usually have good timing going for me." Sometimes good timing can also lead to terrible things.. "I was wondering about that, too, but everything seems to be the same. Just...floaty!"
She comes a little closer in his direction, still careful to keep a good measure of distance from the edge at any point. "We might. Maybe they kinda work like speedboats, too. Get a big enough fan and face it backwards, maybe we can just sail through space."
It's an interesting mental image and one she's totally willing to try, even if it doesn't work.

He looks around the bit of ballroom but there's nothing particularly useful here. Not for making that sort of thing even if he knew how. And no closet to try and get the pieces from.
"I'm looking for my mom. Do you know Emma?"
It's worth a try, at least. A lot of people here do know her.
no subject
She has to think on his question for a second, running through the list of names of the people she's met. "Haven't met any Emmas around here yet. Bet it's only a matter of time."
Charlie's pretty determined to meet everyone she can, in case she runs into more characters from books or movies or video games. It's been a trip.
She starts trying to mentally measure the distance between her location and his, feeling hopeful that she can make it. "What's your name?" She asks as a way to keep herself talking while she gives herself a little nudge to jump.
no subject
Don't mind him. Emma is just his personal hero. Then again, she is also his mom, so that might be a factor.
He smiles though, keeping well out of the way. He won't be much help if she misses but he will certainly try. It's a bad habit of his. And this whole thing is making his desire to be a Hero flare up. That and it's a lot like a video game itself.
"Henry Swan."
There's another surname in his head. Mills. But it feels a bit distant, like a dream.

That's not the case when she wakes.
She's experienced some pretty weird things, things most people couldn't even dream about, but being stranded on a floating piece of mansion? That's a new one, even for her. She takes a little bit of time to explore around her chunk, which mostly just seems to be the kitchen and a piece of the hallway. Two crumbling stairs sit at the end of it, leading up to nowhere and pretty certainly to death, so she stays away from them. Mostly, she sits and watches for other people on the pieces of rock, trying to decide whether or not to jump when a piece comes near enough.
It's a good thing she doesn't have a fear of heights.
She spots a redheaded girl taking a flying leap off of one piece to another. Katniss stares as she makes an arc and lands on the other section of mansion. That landing looked like it had to hurt, and this girl's not familiar, but she's the only person Katniss has seen so far.
"Hey!" She shouts it, hoping her voice will carry. "Are you all right?"

It's a slightly breathless joke, but a joke nonetheless. It was kinda exhilarating taking that jump - like riding on a roller coaster except no belts to strap her in and no loops that go upside down.
Charlie peers over in her location, and takes stock of what is floating between them. Looks like another piece of hallway, and maybe a tearoom. Maybe she could chance it.
"You okay?" She calls out, pacing along the edge to gather up her courage for more jumps - this one doesn't look as easy to her.
no subject
"I'm fine," she yells back, noticing the way the girl seems to be eyeing the chunk of mansion between them. "I wouldn't take that, if I were you."
no subject
"That's the kitchen, right?" As she asks, her stomach rumbles, reminding her that she hasn't had food for a while. "Mind tossing a burrito my way?"
She's totally kidding, because knowing her luck she would miss it and it would fall to the ground below. Far below.
no subject
"I'm not sure what a burrito is," she calls, frowning, "But, um, if you're hungry I could get you, uh, some bread?"
To be fair, it's really good bread. Cheese baked into the top and everything.

March 1st!
The view from his window does, at first, seem like something out of a nightmare and he's compelled to go outside to see just what's holding up his section of the tenth floor. Of course, "outside" is relative: there's the first few rooms in his hallway and part of the stairs, but that's it, the rest is just... gone.
He's suddenly glad he's never had a problem with heights before.
Adam stays put for the most part, experimenting with throwing things off the side of the broken chunk of land once or twice, but he's otherwise content to ride this one out with as much of his confidence in the natural laws of psychics intact as possible.
He's sitting on the end of the stairs, looking over the landscape (it's hard not to look at anything else these days) when a shock of red hair gets his attention. Someone with a death wish is jumping onto his little slice of floating rock, someone who on second glance is familiar. Charlie... right? Adam stands up to greet her, wondering how it'll take for her to notice he's standing there.]
no subject
Victory achieved, she turns around and does a double take that involves a tiny yelp and a hand clamped over her mouth. ]
Sorry! [ She doesn't mean to act like Adam's some kind of scary monster, but she instantly feels awkward. Their last convo didn't end on the highest note. ] Uh, nuts, right? All this? I was waiting for Godzilla to make an appearance, but maybe that'll be next time.
no subject
[She's the one saying sorry, but maybe it's his curse to scare women like Charlie with the sight of himself. He had washed and dressed that morning, so he knows he's not rocking the mental patient hair or anything like that. Neither is he Dean or Tom, which after what Adam had heard... that particular face is probably the elephant in the room right about now.
He shifts his weight, hands in his pockets.]
Yeah, it's something like that. What are you doing?
no subject
[ It's kind of a test for herself, really. She goes on about quests, having an adventure, some kind of purpose but sometimes she finds herself too scare to take the chance. Forcing herself to jump around like Mario on that fourth level in Super Mario Brothers 3 has given her some confidence.
At least these things don't just fall out of the sky as soon as she lands. ]
I was in the library to begin with - I kinda fell asleep in there. [ She still has a book clutched in her hand, actually - something she's not read before, and in all honesty she grabbed the first title she didn't recognize. ] Since I woke up to find the mansion all in floaty pieces, I figured I'd have myself a little adventure! At least there aren't maniacs chasing us around or anything.
[ She hopes she isn't jinxing them. ]
no subject
Someone who'd been killed like that wanting to go on an adventure right after... Either she's tougher than the majority of people, or she's in some serious denial.]
Just a falling from height that make the space station look tame.
[He can't resist. It's true.]

THIS MEETING HAS BEEN DESTINED FOR AGES
What else is new? After a freakin' year here, Stiles is starting to feel like he might be able to roll with the punches. At least it's a physical crazy instead of an inhabitant crazy this time, but for as much as Stiles has always loved him some Super Mario games, he's pretty sure that missing a ledge here won't result in a sad "doo-doo-doo-dododododoo" music and getting right back up again. Falling to his death is a near death experience that Stiles hasn't had yet, and he's very much wanting to keep it that way.
So, he's hanging out int he game room, which is at least sort of stationary. It's floating occasionally, shifting from left to right, but the pieces of the room have stayed completely still, so he's going to lay on the couch with a wireless controller on his stomach, lazily playing Call of Duty while the mansion basically whirls around him.
The door, however, stays open, and he looks up from his game long enough to see a library floating by, and a girl with red hair somewhere in the distance. Sitting up, he leans way over so his head is visible through the door and waves the arm holding the controller, calling out, "Over here!"
WRITTEN IN THE STARS EVEN
"This place is nuts." Is how she says howdy as she inches her way forward, trying to get a better look at him. "Hold up. Are you playing a game? What are you playing?"
Can it be true? Is Heaven actually in Wonderland now? She has her own setup in her room that she spent quite a few hours making sure it was just right, but kindred spirits have been lacking so far in her experience.
LET'S MAKE DESTINY HAPPEN
Wait.
"Uh." Stiles looks back at the TV, then back at her. "Call of Duty...? You wanna play? Take a break from real-life-Mario."
With a grin, he ambles over to the doorframe, holding onto the age and offering a hand out to help.
no subject
"Thanks, dude." Taking a few more steps inside, she surveys the room with an impressed look. "Hopping around like that was fun for a while, but a break is totally needed. My legs were not made for jumping that much."
no subject
"Dude, yeah, I woke up this morning and almost died trying to go to the bathroom. The game room floated by and I saw my chance. This is kind of a...you know, active people's event." He doesn't have to imply that he's not an active person, and Stiles shuts the door to the madness outside and shifts back towards the couch, disappearing over the back to find Scott's old control. He tosses it across the room and beams at her, getting into the stuff he actually wanted to talk about, "So, you're a gamer? That's awesome."

He has been focusing mainly on getting supplies, food and water, and a safe place where he can rest, knowing that if he turns in his sleep he won't simply roll off the piece of land. But most of all he is looking for someone, Tauriel. Wherever she may be right now, he must make sure if she is alright.
But he is yet to even find anyone at all, which is why when he spots someone hopping onto the piece of garden where he is, stumbling a little as she lands, he quickly jumps to his feet and walks over, fooled for just a second by her bright red hair. "Are you alright?"
no subject
A look down. Huh.
"You out on a jumping adventure, too?" She smiles easily, wondering if this is someone who has been around a while or one of the new kids like herself.
...though, really, she shouldn't be thinking of herself as 'new' anymore. She's been here three months, or almost that long.
(OOC: I was so tickled to see Kili! How do you feel about fourth wall breaking with him? I'm more than happy to not if that's what you prefer. ♥ Charlie is a huge lotr fan. )
no subject
He glances around them briefly, seeing that no one else is in that piece of land, then peeks around her to the piece where she came from. "You did not happen to run into someone named Tauriel, have you? Tall woman-- well, an elf, actually. Long hair, about the same color as yours. I have been looking for her."
((ooc: Oh man, I hadn't even thought about that when I tagged in! But YES DEFINITELY! I would absolutely love to!!! <3))
:DDD
Excuse that excited note in her voice, but seriously. Elves. It's not surprising, not when she's run into wizards and space marines and whoever else. Still thrilling.
"I haven't seen any elves around, but I will totally give you a heads up if I run into her." And possibly squeal in delight if she does meet Tauriel. Oh wait, maybe she should give him her name, shouldn't she? "I'm Charlie."
no subject
"I have seen no other elves around, truthfully. So she might even be the only one in this place." He has not seen the sort of elves he is used to, at the very least. Who knows what kinds of worlds this land could reach, and what other different elves could exist in them?
"Oh, of course. Apologies, Lady Charlie. I am Kíli," he stands a little more upright, before bending over in a bow. "At your service!"
