What about her? The matter's since been settled.
[She did have to be strong armed into returning Lydia's voice, but it happened.]
I was well within my rights.

[Emma raises an eyebrow right back. She's not buying it.]
Well within your rights for what? I've got her friends coming to me asking why the hell you took her voice and what needs to be done to get it back. You want to give me some details, here, or should I go ahead and assume the worst?
[Because she's trying incredibly hard not to do just that.]

She wouldn't stop screaming, so I approached her and she willingly let me take her voice. It's hardly my fault if she doesn't want to read the fine print.
[Oh right they have to eat at some point?]
But please, Ms. Swan. Feel free to assume that I wander the halls, stealing the voice of innocent teenagers at random.

You had her sign it away?
[Wonderland, thankfully, provides things unbidden when it feels like it, and two cups of coffee appear on the table between them, accompanied by a couple of turnovers -- cherry, thankfully, not apple.]
Don't say that like I was assuming the worst right off the bat. I actually stood up for you, you know.
[Maybe not much, but it counts.]
Told the kid there had to be more to the story than you just flat-out stealing it. Talk to me about this screaming thing. She's a banshee, right?
[What the hell does that even mean other than a lot of broken glass?]

[At least she's honest? But she's surprised to hear that Emma stood up for her, even though it'd been happening more and more often back in Storybrooke.
She tears a chunk of the turnover off, but makes no move to eat it yet.]
But thank you, Ms. Swan. I can't claim to know why Ms. Martin chose to sign her voice over, and as to why I kept it... Well, a banshee's voice has the potential to create very powerful magic.
[PSYCHE. The piece of turnover goes back on the plate, as she dismisses the contract.]
Do you know the legend of the Wailing Woman, Emma? Whenever they scream it means someone is about to die. But it appears that our resident banshee only screams after people die. I'm sure you can imagine why it got on my nerves, since it was during the Valentine's murders.

[That said, 'getting on her nerves' doesn't seem like a good enough reason to keep a girl's voice from her, banshee or otherwise. Lydia wasn't hurting anyone. She might need to learn some control, sure, but keeping her voice wasn't going to help that.]
You can't just keep it indefinitely. Whatever magic you think you can do with her voice, it's not worth robbing her of her ability to speak for however long -- I'm pretty damn sure she didn't think she'd be signing it over for good.

[And got a few rather bad wounds in the process. Werewolves are dicks, news at 11.]
Please, you think that's bad? You should be glad it wasn't one of Mr. Gold's contracts. The girl would've signed over far more than her voice. The matter's been settled, I hope that wasn't the only reason you called me here.
[There's the faintest hint of amusement in her voice, since she knows far too well the price of some of his contracts.
It's also now that she chooses to actually eat some of the cherry turnover. 5/10 Wonderland, would only eat again under duress. Try apple next time.]

[That's not what she heard.]
When?
[If Stiles gave her bad info, so help her--
She sighs, absently pulling a piece off of her turnover and eating it, unintentionally mirroring Regina.]
No, that's not all. We need to talk about Henry's memory.
[Pastry seems a little dry.]
