[The one thing they agree on: Emma's intelligence.

But she stands her ground, and she'll admit that Emma cuts an impressive figure when she's not the one standing opposite her.]

I've been a man and a fish, so no. I'm not enjoying them.

[Let's just pretend that Regina is lying because I forgot the date of this thread so neither of those had happened to her yet.]

Did you actually want something, or were you just leaving?

[Peter will keep this prediction in mind when future events unfold and Regina enjoys the fruits of manhood and reliving the high points of aquatic animal life...

As it is, these unsubtle hints to shoo him off the front porch like a stray cat do nothing to move him. They fly right over his head, leaving his perfectly coiffed hair intact in their wake.]

Are you in such a hurry? Where might you need to rush off to?

[He stands up right there in the middle of the stair, leaving her no option but to come closer and brush past if she wants to leave. Funny about teleporting, there are only so many people capable of it in this world. The Savior isn't one of them unless she's suddenly gotten much more well-versed in magic.]

I figured we could talk, Emma.

Anywhere else? Even in Wonderland there's about a dozen places I'd rather be than standing here talking to you.

[She does consider teleporting out of there. After all, the only problem with Emma's magic is that she has no training. But she has no doubts about the fact that Pan would use the knowledge to his advantage, and that's not something she wants.]

Fine. Let's talk.

[Unless, of course. He already knows.]

Really. Even after what we spoke about last?

[At her most most rude and uncivilized (and completely fair) retort, he lifts his eyebrows in an expression that looks by all accounts to be genuine surprise. The real question here isn't what Peter knows, though he happens to keep a very close eye on the members of his extended family and has just a keen a sense for deception as Regina--if not keener for all the years he's been using magic to fool the senses just like this.

No, the real question is what Emma knows. He, Regina, and Emma had played this game once before, and even Peter has to admit that it'd been harder than he'd thought to ham it up as his innocent and stomach-churningly sincere great-grandson. Now it's time to test their acting abilities.

Easiest thing in the world for Emma to answer a question she should know about. Isn't it?]

[They might be co-moms, but they don't share everything. The mere thought of being that open with the Savior is enough to make her stomach churn.

So the Queen does what the Queen does best.

Bullshits.]

You can't actually think that anything we talked about is enough to make me forget everything you did.

[Nailed it?]

You said you wanted to talk, so talk.

[He'd be impressed if they did. Emma would really have to be a desperate orphan to open herself up to the woman who'd destroyed her parents' lives and her own childhood...

But that's a general statement pretty much anyone who's ever met Pan could say to him. It deserves its own Hallmark card. We're going to have to go a little deeper on this one...

He wags the handle of the dagger at her, holding it by its tip.]

About that... what did we talk about last? Refresh my memory.

[Emma Swan: Desperate Orphan Deputy. That's it, that's the show.

She narrows her eyes at that little display, is this what passes as impressive on Neverland? Lame, Pan.

Luckily, she already has a prepared response to his next question.]

Losing your memory in your old age, Pan? I'm not here to remind you of the things you forgot. If that's all you wanted, I'm leaving.

[Whatever happens to amuse Peter is what passes as impressive on the island, so you know what, Your Majesty, you're just going to have to strap in and enjoy the ride, because it's game time.]

Not even a guess? Come on now, don't you like guessing games?

[Peter does and he's happy to remind you another fifty times if need be.]

[That explains why Emma was able to convince the Lost Boys to give you up, then. But keep this up and you're getting a time out, Pan.]

I like them about as much as I like you. Either get to the point, or get out of my way.

[Hello broken record. But seriously, get out of the way Pan.]

[You won't know until you try. And Peter's loose, easy body language says he'd really wouldn't mind if you tried.]

Or?

[He lifts an eyebrow, challenging. Some of these things is not like the other one...]

And if I don't? What are you going to do? What can you do?

[She might not learn from all of her mistakes, but she definitely remembers what happened last time she lashed out against him.

But she didn't have access to the power of the Savior. While she can't use the true depths of Emma's power, she can feel it under her skin, a power far greater than her own.]

I can do a lot more than you think.

[It takes a bit of effort to actually call on Emma's power, simply because of the fact that it's light magic being used by someone decidedly not.

But she manages it, thrusting her hands out with as much of the Savior's power behind it as she can in an attempt to throw Pan down the stairs.

I said that she remembered, not that she learned.]

[Oho! Can you really teach an old skeptic new tricks?]

There it is. Couldn't resist, could you?

[... Says the pain in the ass who's suddenly standing in a completely different part of the hallway, far from any staircases or attempts to blast him with power. Raw force is only fun when you're the one throwing it around; removing himself from a fight before the fight ever gets off the ground is one of his favorite tactics otherwise. Catch him if you can!

As for "Emma," it's clear now that this is an old witch with old tricks. He'd been hoping she'd make a move like this and had been waiting fix her with a smirk just like this one.]

You're even worse at playing these tricks than you are at seeing through them. Putting yourself in someone else's shoes was never your strong suit, was it?
unwantedvow: (pic#7572704)

[personal profile] unwantedvow 2014-05-12 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
We all know what my strong suit is, Pan.

[One day she'll do it to you, and all the realms will rejoice. One day she will utterly and completely destroy Peter Pan, and it will be her single greatest accomplishment after raising Henry.]

But I got what I wanted, don't you have a forest to run around in?

[#REGINAOUT.

As in she starts to walk down the stairs.]
boyhood: (→ my nature grows)

[personal profile] boyhood 2014-06-04 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks around as if she's posed an impossible riddle.]

No, actually I wouldn't.

[Because that would imply the Evil Queen has a strong suit, and isn't a villain moonlighting as a hero not supposed to exalt the fact they have no conscience?

The immortal moonlighting as an innocent boy doesn't close the distance, but he drifts to the top of the stairs and pauses there to watch her walk away.]

You had what you wanted, you mean. And now you don't even have your own body.
