14th GIVE ME THE MOMMY TIME I WANT IT
Somehow he finds himself at Ellen's bar instead of at Chris' door. The silences the latter provided were comforting in the same way Derek's silences were. However right now Isaac needed to talk to someone. Derek would normally be the person he talked to about this, but that's where Erica was. Allison would be high up on that list too, but he knows exactly where she stands on the matter. And perhaps, just a bit, he doesn't know what to think with Allison. To hear that she had hurt Erica and tortured her and didn't tell anyone? He probably would have been able to forgive the deed if she'd mentioned it, not that there was much reason for her to... But the point still stands. ]
OKAY FINE GAWD
Mommy moved hers. But NEW PERSON has them! Arguros will get them. He is the master of shoe laces and they shall not get away from his blazing attack speed and vicious claws!
Standing behind a chair leg he waits for the foot to get closer, and AHA! That shoe lace moved! It moved in defiance of him! ATTACK!
The silver-grey kitten, who's looking more like a cat these days, darts out from under a chair and pounces on Isaac's shoe laces. He must contain the evil.]
HUFF PUFF
Blue eyes flicker down at the kitten, startled at first but quickly a smile forms on the werewolf's face as he crouches down to the floor to give the cat attention in the form of pets and possibly wiggly playful fingers to distract him from Isaac's shoes. ]
Hey there, try not to tear my shoes up, alright?
[ It's just instinct to talk to cats at this point, Isaac will spend hours on end just conversing with Parker if left to his own devices. Cats are better listeners than people, as long as you pet them. ]
no subject
Like any other animal, Arguros becomes a puddle of goo when scritches are on offer. Besides, Mama is busy.
A clink of glass draws the kitten's attention and he immediately scampers off to wind around ankles he likes the best. He starts whining for attention.]
Stop it, pest. Hey Isaac. You need something?
[She starts putting the bottles away under the bar.]
no subject
Actually, yeah -- advice. But if you're too busy I can come back later...
[ He's waffling about even talking about it all. After all, she'd apologised to Erica and to him for what she'd done to him. It's not so much anger that she had done what she did to Erica - it was a strange feeling of upset that she didn't tell him. ]
no subject
Never too busy for a friend. And I'm a bartender. Advice is what I do. Have a seat and spill.
[She's not going to let him go now.]
no subject
If someone... Someone you love has done something horrible, is it wrong to forgive them...? What if - they weren't okay at the time?
[ Mentally unstable is what he means... He thinks back to his father for a moment. He'd forgiven him, why is he even bothered by what Allison had done.
Welp, obviously there's trouble in paradise. ]
I don't think it'd bother me so much if she'd just told me... But she kept it from me.
no subject
I can't tell you if it's right or wrong. It's something everyone decides for themselves. She might not have told you because she was scared, or ashamed, or any number of things. And, I think it depends on who else she hurt, beyond just you. Family? Friends? Pack?
no subject
Back home, before I really knew Allison, she tried to kill almost all of us - me, Derek, Erica, Boyd...
But she didn't tell me that she - she apparently caught Erica and Boyd and - uh... Well, she tortured them. I know Erica and Boyd - they wouldn't - they didn't deserve that...
no subject
No one deserves it. No one.
She have reasons for it?
[She wants the whole story before she says a few things.]
no subject
Her mom and her aunt, they'd just died because of werewolves. And her grandfather was intent on revenge...
[ He doesn't know all of what happened. But he does know that her grandfather had had every intention of cutting him in two with a sword. ]
She got swept up in it, I think...
no subject
Revenge kills everyone around it, and usually misses the target by a wide margin. I've seen a lot of hunters die because of revenge. I've seen even more become hard, uncaring, and locked off loners because when they got it? It didn't taste sweet the way they'd been promised, and by that time they were too damned old to learn a new trick.
[She's not even sure what she's saying. But she wants him to listen, to filter everything he knows about Allison through what she's saying.]
Firstly, as I understand it, pack is closer than family. That means you've got to decide how you want it to fall. Don't think you have to forgive her and not be angry. You've got as much a right to be angry about being lied to as anyone. But don't think that if you do forgive her, you'll immediately forget and won't use it later. Because you will. Wolf or not, you're human. And sometimes they go for the hurt and not the kill. Understand?
no subject
That's the thing though... I'm not angry about it. [ And that scares him, because he should be. ] I'm disappointed she didn't tell me... but... [ He's trying to gather his thoughts, and it shows. ] She tried to kill me and I forgave her. It makes me wonder if she trusts me or if she's still beating herself up over it.
[ Isaac knows what revenge does, and he doesn't want to let it dictate his life like it does with Peter, with Derek... He chooses to forgive because people do make mistakes, everyone's flawed. ] I want 'em both to be okay.
[ Is that asking for too much? He doesn't think it is... It's weird, he's never... felt like this with someone, but he understands Allison... He thinks anyway. ]
no subject
They're going to put you in the middle.
[It's gentle, but she knows how women are. She knows how she can be.]
I don't know what she's feeling. I can't guess at it. Best thing for you to do is talk to her. Ask her why she didn't. Communication is the only way you're going to know anything.

And when he arrives, he has to admit, he'd never think of building a still, or distilling moonshine, but now that he's hearing Harvelle explain the ins and outs of how she did it, it legitimately sounds like the best idea he's ever heard. In fact, any idea will be the best idea he's ever heard today, so he's further pleased with his next suggestion: ]
Ellen, this is— this is all really neat. Looks complicated. [ Science, pfft. ] We should try some of this, right? Feel like we're obligated to try some now.
[ Or maybe that was her thinking all along, since she invited him. Either way, it's obviously the best suggestion on the table and Blake's thinking Ellen will either take the bait or reel him in. ]
You know, make sure it's the kinda thing you want people drinkin'. People not as tough as us, I mean. Which is pretty much everyone, so it's almost like our duty...
[ Said with a smile as he lifts the mason jar of White Lightning to his lips. Someone's in a mood, apparently. ]
no subject
[Never drink straight from the still or you'll go blind. At least she thinks that's the rule. She's never sure. Normally, she has sacrificial lambs - or here, maybe Cas or one of the demons - try it, but trying some sounds like a great plan today.
She laughs at his duty comment and finishes draining the still. The latest batch gets pushed over and she clinks her jar against his before swilling down a good chug of the stuff.
THAT FUCKING BURNS.
... But in a good way. She'll talk again when her body remembers she still has an esophagus.]
no subject
Looks smooth...
[ But he's clearly not going to back down from this challenge, as Ellen is obviously in need and asking for his help. ]
Okay, here goes. [ Lifting the drink in toast, he takes a deep breath and then takes a long pull on the alcohol. Almost instantly, he regrets not numbing his mouth beforehand.
Time for the coughing. Christ, he'd be wheezing if he'd had this stuff a couple months back, but there's been some recent endurance training that's helped him get this far. ]
Jesus.
no subject
Well, she hasn't dropped over dead just yet. But, that might just be because her body is too shocked to do it.
Ellen bravely takes a second drink.]
Second's not as bad as the first.
[She croaks it out after clearing her throat several times.]
no subject
Yeah, it's— [ Murder. ] —great. Why you— Hoo. Why're you makin' this again? Strippin' paint sometime— sometime soon?
no subject
Weapon.
[She picks up the roll of toilet paper.]
Medical reasons.
[She grins and tosses the roll at him.]
All sorts of things moonshine can be used for.
no subject
So, it's at least more utilitarian than even a roll of toilet paper, is what you're sayin'?
no subject
Close, but I wouldn't wipe my ass with it.
[She gets a speculative look in her eyes. Uh oh. PLOTS FORMING.]
no subject
no subject
[PURE INNOCENCE.]
Trust me, right?
[She takes another drink.]
no subject
'Course I do. You've had my back more'n a few times. What're you thinkin'?
no subject
Ever toilet paper a house?
[She waves around to the greenhouse with the roll of toilet paper.]
no subject
walkingrunning distance of the orphanage.Another sip, another wince. So dramatic. ]
You wanna TP somethin'?
no subject
This place could use some sprucing up don't you think?
no subject
[ It's like an impromptu party according to the man charging well ahead into drunkenness. ]
no subject
[She tosses the roll of toilet paper to him and gets her own. Then, she grins.]
Let's have some fun.
[Decorate eveeeeeeeeeerythiiiiiiiiiiing. YAY!]
no subject
Only if we're takin' this moonshine with us, 'cause I'm pretty sure we've— we've got a duty to finish it.
[ Otherwise, he's ready. Oh so ready for a little fun and a little chaos. ]
no subject
Why don't we just decorate in here. We can drink our moonshine and no one will be offended.
[Or they will and she won't care.]
no subject
C'mon, let's do it. [ He waggles his eyebrows at her. ] You an' me, Ellen. You, an' me, an' the toilet paper, an' the fire water.
