Dean makes a face at the word allies, like it's so incredibly wrong rolling off the demon's tongue... The thought is a wild one, too, still. Even if Dean knows Crowley hasn't tried anything in couple of months he's now been in Wonderland.

"Yeah, well, I'll see it when I believe it." Grumble, grumble...

"I had nothin' to do with that." He'd rather see Cas unhooked on ground beef, if it was up to him, even if Cas digging burgers was just another thing right in the world. Everyone should love burgers... Just not to the extremes the angel seems to take it. And yet...

"...did he like it?"

"He did." Crowley gives Dean a mischievous grin.

"So much so that he was falling over himself to thank me." He pitches his voice up and clasps his hands together. "Oh, Crowley, however can I repay you for all this meat?"

There's swagger in his step now--something that's been falling away from his movements in the last few months. It's funny, because he hadn't noticed that change in his gait until he'd put effort into bringing it back.

"Don't worry. I didn't sleep with your boyfriend."

"Cas doesn't talk like that..." Mumbled quietly to himself as Dean looks away. He's back to wondering when he'd ever asked Crowley to come hang out with him, and you know what? He hadn't. Yet, chasing off the demon doesn't seem like a thing in his cards either, knowing Crowley isn't going to go anywhere no matter how Dean might feel about this joined outing.

Dean does roll his eyes almost violently though.

"Real funny." The boyfriend joke never gets old.

"I get that there's something up in this place right now, but you keep your distance from him, alright? None of this-- weird friend bullshit. Last time you two were allies..." Well, nothing good had happened, had it?

Crowley's face sobered. "You're not my keeper and you're not his, either."

It's not the first time Dean's warned him off of people, even if this Dean doesn't remember that, but Crowley's not afraid to cross it. Castiel is a big boy and he can handle himself, especially in the face of Crowley very much not trying to hurt him right now.

The truth of the matter is that Dean's always been a part of his relationship with Castiel, but Crowley's always seen him as a wedge. That doesn't mean he's welcome to take an active role in it. Crowley's feelings on the entire situation have simmered, even if they're still there. He's got new things to focus on like staying alive. From what he'd seen of the future, he and Castiel had become, what? Friends? He'd died for the feathery little fool and months later he's still trying to puzzle out the actions of his future self.

"You should trust him to take care of himself. It's Lucifer and the impending Jabberwocky that you should be worrying about, not me."

"Last time I thought Cas could take care of himself, he turned Dark side on me 'cause of you." Remember that, Crowley? The whole joined forces to gain souls or whatever. Dean's over it, as far as Cas is concerned -- sort of, anyway -- but where the demon comes into play, especially with the angel, he's quick to bring up the past. There won't be a repeat performance of playing God if he has anything to do about it.

"It's always the little snake that ends up bitin' if I ignore it for the bigger ones." He doesn't even know where to start with freaking Lucifer of all people, let alone some mythical beast that he's never even seen. So for now, in this moment? He can handle Crowley, can warn him off and give him attitude-- and deal with it.

But the Devil and some monstrous, future-changing monster? Yeah...

He's got his work cut out for him. And speaking of...

"Hell, should toss Lucifer into that Cage you talked about building along with the monster."

Crowley looks at Dean like he's just walked in on him huffing paint.

"I'm worried we won't be able to trap the Jabberwocky and you want us to trap Lucifer now? While we're at it, let's just skip along home, shall we? Since we're that powerful."

Really, what is Dean even thinking? It would probably be easier to kill Lucifer here than trap him.

And he's just going to ignore Dean's prattling about Castiel, as if it's his fault that Cas power tripped off the deep end.

"It's better than lettin' him wander around free." Free to whisper horrible things to Sam that might get under his brother's delicate skin. "I've been punched enough with texts about the whole death ain't permanent gig to know that won't work, anyway. So we trap him. 'Cause you know, that if we defeat the Jabberwocky, he's gonna be up next."

So might as well be cautious? Or maybe it's just Dean knows what kind of damage the Devil can do, whereas the Jabberwocky is a wildcard.

A beat later he just ends up huffing.

"Don't expect a demon to get it though."

"No, I get it. You think I want Lucifer wandering around? He probably wants me dead more than anyone else here."

Really, he's pretty sure he's number one hit on Lucifer's list. It's concerning.

"You want my support to deal with Lucifer, you have it, but I'm not going in with some half-cocked plan that will get us all killed."
