stillplaying: ([confusion] you're joking)

[Her brow furrows in slight confusion when he starts to talk about clothing appearing in the closet. She's been here long enough that, while she doesn't understand how the closet works, she knows that it works. And that's good enough for her - even if she refuses to become too dependent on it.

Katniss glances down for a second, taking in her choice of clothes for the day, and the confusion lessons just a little. Oh. Right. She remembers the fashions in District 4. People don't wear much when water's involved. It's part of the reason she's so uncomfortable right now.

But he doesn't press the topic, moving on to gesture to her bow. Something she's slightly more willing to talk about.

Or, at least, nod in return.]

I do, too.

[He makes a face as he tilts his head. That's not... exactly right.] Or, at least I like using my bow and arrows. I haven't really actually hunt for food, I just use targets. [And enemies, but Percy already scolded them for sharing too much right away.]

We could practice one day, if we want. I don't know many people who use bow and arrows. Where do you use them, the woods?

[Her brow furrows when he makes a face, curious by what seems to be a sudden disagreement with his own words. In her opinion, hunting is a clear cut activity. There's nothing to be indecisive about. You hunt or you don't. Because Gale was right. In the end, there's little difference between hunting animals and hunting humans.

At least, not until after, anyway.

But when he clarifies, she scowls. Using a bow isn't the same as hunting. A still target has nothing on a moving target.]

That's not hunting.

Yeah, it isn't. [He has to admit that much, and he shrugs good-naturedly.]

At least I never hunted game, not for food. [He never really had to. Food had actually never been much of an issue in their missions- they made do with whatever they cold find, and then Piper got her magical horn.]

And I'm pretty sure going after monsters doesn't qualify as hunting.

[She shrugs. Though she doesn't know what monsters he's referring to, she's sure that in Gale's opinion, it counts as hunting. The methods are the same. But she wonders, briefly, if hunting monsters keeps you up at night as much as hunting humans can. Or if she had become particularly cold to those sorts of things. Her nightmares are never about killing the mutts that hunted her in the arena or in the Capitol.]

It does. Sort of.
