☾ nightfury at the gates (open)
Who: Toothless and you.
Where: Outside the mansion, pretty much anywhere.
When: 6/23
Rating: This is a kid's movie! (G. I'll update if it changes!)
Summary: Toothless arrives back at the mansion without any memory of it. ...'Arrives' is probably oversimplifying it. 'Crashes' is more accurate.
The Story:
It's funny, but Toothless doesn't remember hedges in Berk. He doesn't even know what a hedge is, in fact, but the shape in front of him strikes him as Viking-made. Plants don't actually grow like that, do they? Is he on some weird new island where the plants are different?
All he remembers is flying — and then not flying.
Speaking of which, with a quiet cry of alarm, the Nightfury lurches to his feet. Hiccup! Was he thrown clear? Where is he? The area around him is large, and he can also smell — is that a beach, maybe beyond the treeline? For a moment, he stands unnaturally still, trying to pinpoint the sound of his best friend's voice. But all he hears are unfamiliar voices, and the rustling of wind through trees. It only makes the thrill of horror in his chest greater, and Toothless immediately sets off at a run.
Or he tries to, at least.
His thoughts being as distracted as they are, his mad dash is foiled by the fish pond being in the way. The Nightfury plunges, unintentionally, underneath the surface, and comes up with wide green eyes, scrambling for the shore amidst the frantic movements of fish beneath him. Such is the gravity of the situation that the fish don't even factor into his mind, just yet. He comes back up on land and this time sets off at a much more successful run, soaking wet and wings tucked tight to his body for greater speed.
Every once in a while, he lets out a loud, long, distressed sounding call — sort of the dragon version of Hey! Where are you? With the speed of his movements, hopefully no one will find themselves in his way.
[ooc: Both prose and action spam are fine by me.]

Woah, you're a dragon.

Toothless makes a surprised noise akin to a squawk (thankfully Hiccup isn't around to hear it, or he'd never hear the end) and lurches to the side a few steps, following it up with a growl just to save face as he eyes the viking in question. Where in the gods had he come from...]
no subject
Hey, hey, calm down, you win, I'm not going to hurt you or anything, promise.
no subject
It's okay. He won't hurt you either, strange viking who came out of nowhere.]
no subject
We're good? You're not going to eat me or set me on fire?
[ Does he really expect an answer? No. He's just stunned by actual Dragon. ]
no subject
So he shakes his head, canting it to the side.]
no subject
[ He's still a little wary though, but not wary enough not to zip forward to touch Toothless' wings. ]
I've never seen an actual dragon before, this is pretty cool. I'm Tommy by the way. I'd ask if you've got a name but you probably couldn't tell me it anyway.
no subject
It's admirable, really. He sniffs at Tommy, wondering if, perhaps, his whole viking tribe is fast, like him...]
no subject
You've got some awesome wingspan--you fast?
no subject
How far? He has no idea.
But he gives an assured rumble in the back of his throat. He's very fast, viking.]
no subject
One day I'm going to meet something as fast as me that isn't trying to kidnap my brother. Too bad that'll never happen, right buddy?
no subject
Are they trying to do it here, he wonders, glancing at the mansion. There's all sorts of danger. He knows that from the other vikings he's talked to. This is a very strange island indeed.]

The Nightfury's confusion melts off of his body as he opens his mouth, making an excited sort of panting at the question. Boy, is he hungry. He's been working up an appetite, running around here and looking for Hiccup. He still needs to look, of course, but isn't it better to do on an empty stomach?
Trilling in the back of his throat, Toothless' eyes widen. Do you have food, new friend?]
no subject
[ He runs off then, and in half a second he's back with a large fish in one arm and a rump roast in the other. He asked the kitchen what a dragon eats and, well, that's what he got.
Could be worse, could be a charred child or a whole lamb. ]
How's this?
no subject
With any luck, the kind vikings on this island have been feeding Hiccup, too.]
