☾ nightfury at the gates (open)
Who: Toothless and you.
Where: Outside the mansion, pretty much anywhere.
When: 6/23
Rating: This is a kid's movie! (G. I'll update if it changes!)
Summary: Toothless arrives back at the mansion without any memory of it. ...'Arrives' is probably oversimplifying it. 'Crashes' is more accurate.
The Story:
It's funny, but Toothless doesn't remember hedges in Berk. He doesn't even know what a hedge is, in fact, but the shape in front of him strikes him as Viking-made. Plants don't actually grow like that, do they? Is he on some weird new island where the plants are different?
All he remembers is flying — and then not flying.
Speaking of which, with a quiet cry of alarm, the Nightfury lurches to his feet. Hiccup! Was he thrown clear? Where is he? The area around him is large, and he can also smell — is that a beach, maybe beyond the treeline? For a moment, he stands unnaturally still, trying to pinpoint the sound of his best friend's voice. But all he hears are unfamiliar voices, and the rustling of wind through trees. It only makes the thrill of horror in his chest greater, and Toothless immediately sets off at a run.
Or he tries to, at least.
His thoughts being as distracted as they are, his mad dash is foiled by the fish pond being in the way. The Nightfury plunges, unintentionally, underneath the surface, and comes up with wide green eyes, scrambling for the shore amidst the frantic movements of fish beneath him. Such is the gravity of the situation that the fish don't even factor into his mind, just yet. He comes back up on land and this time sets off at a much more successful run, soaking wet and wings tucked tight to his body for greater speed.
Every once in a while, he lets out a loud, long, distressed sounding call — sort of the dragon version of Hey! Where are you? With the speed of his movements, hopefully no one will find themselves in his way.
[ooc: Both prose and action spam are fine by me.]

The Nightfury inclines his head just slightly, in confirmation.

Dear Diary I met a dragon - it was so rad.
As it is, she wants to give her new buddy a present! That nature urge to feed a friendly animal is strong, and she pushes herself up, brushing her pants off. "Wanna play a game of 'Teach Charlie what kind of food you like'?"

Well, she already sort of does, in the dragon, but food will completely cinch the deal.

Dragons can't be too finicky, right? She scans the area, humming to herself as she thinks.
"You go for the leafy green goodness?" Probably not, but that would at least knock out all the vegetation in the area. That's a lot of plants and trees, dude.

For any dragon that Toothless has encountered, at least.
Since she needs the hint, the Nightfury puffs out his chest and trots in the direction of the pond. There are fish in it, still, and though he can't quite catch these on his own, they'll do for showing Charlie what he likes to eat. He stops, once, to make sure the pretty viking is following him, looking back over his shoulder and harness.

The pond is obviously his destination, and so she passes him to reach the edge of it, crouching down to peer into the water. The fish swam in a weirdly frantic manner, as if they know their time has come. They are about to become Dinner.
Or lunch. Whatever - just food.
"Seafood it is, then." Charlie shoots a grin over at Toothless before looking back at the fish. "Now to figure out a way to get them out..."
A problem solved quickly when she spies a long pole with a net at the end, leaning against a nearby tree as if someone had forgotten it. Wow, the help these days just isn't doing their job, are they?
No matter. She's grabbing the pole and back at the edge of the pond in no time, dipping the net inside to catch her new buddy a few fish.

He comes to a stop next to Charlie, sitting down and peering at her work. The movements of the fish under the surface of the water make his eyes wide, and they even chase a grumble out of his stomach.
It's been a little while since he's eaten.
