( open ) we're only young and naive still

Who: Becky Rosen, Clarisse La Rue + YOU!
Where: Everywhere!
When: The duration of the event, July 12-16
Rating: PG13 for Clarisse's mouth. Some things never change.
Summary: Awkward teenage nerd or foul-mouthed teenage punk, take your pick.
The Story:

[ CLARISSE LA RUE is a fifteen year old punk from class 1-3. She's a member of the Blood Oranges, the infamous school gang, and she spends most of her time on the roof skipping class. Except history, she actually kind of likes history. Because, you know, they get to talk about war in history and war is cool. She's also in the kendo club (because Annabeth forced her to join a club and swords are pretty cool????), but she rarely attends. Her class is in charge of the onigiri booth, which she is "participating" in (she'll show up but then not actually do anything). Feel free to catch her anywhere, be it on the roof, after class, at her booth (SOMEONE SAVE HER), or anywhere else! It'd be awful great if she could beat up some nerd in the hallway.

BECKY ROSEN is a socially awkward second year (class 2-2) who spends most of her time alone because she has no friends. During class she tends to write fanfiction, read light novels, or doodle in her notebook about how much she loves Sam Winchester, that moose stud in third year. She can usually be found in the library (definitely not reading or writing erotic fanfiction) or helping with the preparations for the fortune telling booth. If there's an anime club, she's probably president of it, let's be honest, though it's probably just an excuse for her to sit around and play BL visual novels without her mom walking in on her. ]

For Becky

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[The only place in the school George might say she likes is the library. Which means spending even more time with Becky. Not that she's complaining. Or proud of it. Like all other things, she is neutral.

That said, it's hard not to say something when Becky finishes off a notebook with another page full of BECKY WINCHESTERS and the like.]

Doesn't your wrist get tired?
samlicker81: ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴇᴀʟ (of the rain drumming on the roof)

[ becky nearly jumps when she hears george's voice and slams the notebook shut in a panic, glancing up at the other girl with a nervous smile. ]

Um. Not really? [ she shrinks a little, her cheeks going pink when she thinks about the contents of her journal. ] How much... did you see?
akapeanut: (Lemme think about that)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-26 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing more than usual.

[Which isn't terribly informative as answers go, but she doesn't really care.]

Have you been hiding in here all day? Would've thought you'd be more into the festival stuff than me.
samlicker81: ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴇᴀʟ (when we're sitting)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-07-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ well, hopefully she didn't see the page with an illustrated version of "becky and sam sitting in a tree"... that's only... slightly more embarrassing than the other contents of the notebook.

she shrugs in response. ]

I checked out some of the stuff... But me and festivals don't really get along. They're just... overwhelming. And no fun to go to alone.
akapeanut: (Lemme think about that)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-31 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
[George drums her fingers on the table.]

Hm. So it'd be less overwhelming with a friend? Or is that not what you mean?

[She isn't even sure if Becky considers her a friend. Or if she considers Becky a friend. At best they just know each other as equally "uncool".]
samlicker81: ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴇᴀʟ (you now and then)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-07-31 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ becky tilts her head slightly, mulling over george's question. she's never really had a friend to go with, so she's not sure... ]

I don't know... maybe? I've never had the chance to go with anyone before. It's always been just me... [ she raises her eyebrows expectantly. ] Why?
akapeanut: (Death's like that)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-31 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well. I mean. If all that's keeping you here is having to go alone...

[Y'know. Just. Maybe. If it's cool with her.]
samlicker81: ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴇᴀʟ (from the cold rain)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-07-31 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
[ becky sits there and blinks for a few seconds until it sinks in that george is implying they should go to the festival together. as friends??? ]

Oh. Well. Sure? [ she doesn't mean to sound... unsure but. how do friends???? ]
akapeanut: (Wasn't me)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-31 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I um. I mean, if you'd rather stay here...or if it was weird of me to ask. That's okay. I can-- I'll go read. It's fine.

[HOW DO FRIENDS???]
samlicker81: (cue all the love)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-07-31 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ becky shakes her head, quickly, already beginning to fumble for her things as she stands. ]

Oh! No! Um. We should go. I'm not... doing anything else. And it might be fun, right?
akapeanut: (I can be cute)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-31 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[George nods. And doesn't get happy about this at all because she is so stoic okay that's her thing. She's actually pretty glad she said yes.]

Okay. Is there anything you wanted to go to? [An educated guess:] Speed dating maybe?
samlicker81: (to leave my heart)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-07-31 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ becky freezes in the middle of putting her notebook in her bag, slowly turning to face george. ]

Um... What makes you say that?

[ besides the fact that she's painfully single. ]
akapeanut: (Death's like that)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-07-31 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[...God she's so bad at being social.]

Um. You seem. Like the romantic type?

[M-MAYBE?]
samlicker81: ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ sᴛᴇᴀʟ (i miss)

[personal profile] samlicker81 2014-08-03 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[ it's okay, becky is just as bad. ]

Oh. Well, yeah... I guess I am. [ she's hopelessly romantic. ] I just thought you meant... because of the notebook...

[ the chances of sam even being at the speed dating thing are slim to none, anyway. ]
akapeanut: (Fucking gravelings)

[personal profile] akapeanut 2014-08-10 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
[George internally winces at herself, aware that she's going to look even stupider than people who normally act like this. But she's gonna try teasing Becky about her crush. Because that's what other people do in these situations, even if it's sort of mean, in a way.]

Maybe you'll get lucky.
eatsyourscience: (another cog in the murder machine)

Come to me, Clarisse

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-07-18 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji's taking a break from preparing the speed dating ugh room and he decides to spend that break up on the roof. He initially goes over to the chain link fence so he can look down at the yard below, but he notices Clarisse as he reaches it. He pauses, wondering if he should leave her alone, before deciding to approach her. She's not the type who won't tell him if she wants to be left alone, so he doesn't need to worry about bothering her too much.

He waves a little as he approaches and puts his hands in his pockets as he comes within speaking distance.]

Hey.
eatsyourscience: (how HIGH to you have to BE)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-07-27 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Souji rolls his eyes up to look at his bangs. His hair really can't be that bad, right? It's just...his hair.]

I didn't. We ran out of stuff to do in our classroom.
eatsyourscience: (been living for tomorrows all my life)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-08-05 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
All we had to do was decorate the classroom. They ran out of stuff they needed someone tall for, so I'm taking a break.

[Souji shrugs, looking at her curiously.]

Besides, you look more bored than me.

Miss Rude | July 12th?

[The Blood Oranges is a stupid name, and though Adam hasn't had cause to say it out loud, he's thought it more than once before. He's too busy with other things to be afraid of the delinquents in his school, even though there's more than enough of them hanging around. He probably could qualify as their target demographic--a nerd with a mean need to be the top of his classes--but lacking pressure points to take advantage of seems to keep him from swimming in the general pool of victims. He's tall and athletic, so not all that easily intimidated, physically speaking. He's has an attitude of his own if pushed hard enough, too, which scratches emotional intimidation off the list.

From the outside, Adam doesn't know where being a little bit of everything and doing a little bit of everything leaves him--semi-popular or technically super unpopular without a clique to belong to--but either way, it doesn't affect his life too much, and so doesn't bother him. Not even Clarisse's "rock 'em, sock 'em" approach to everything in school bothers him, and maybe that's why he's the one who seems to end up moming her about her GPA the way his mom does to him.]

Everything I edited is in red. All you have to do is change your mistakes and hand it off to the teacher. Think you can handle that by Tuesday?

[When he sees her next, guess who's quick to pull Clarisse's history assignment out of his bag and wave it tauntingly at her. They both know she's probably not going to do a thing to help with the festival's preparation, so she can't cry crocodile tears and say she's got too much to handle.

Bet she'd thought he had too much to handle to give her homework a good look before it was too late. Well, joke's on her, he did.]

[Maybe if Clarisse ever bothered to actually do anything with the cards instead of ignore them, she could find her footing in class. She's not stupid, he doesn't believe that, she's just that determined to avoid dealing with schoolwork.]

It's called working. Everyone can do it, even you. You don't even need to be a genius to do it.

[He sets the paper down on the desk and pushes it toward her. Passing the torch to you, Clarisse. Go for gold.]
