( semi-open ) love is a many splendored thing

Who: Everyone who signed up for SHIPPING
Where: All around Wonderland! See below for specific locations.
When: Tuesday, September 9, evening
Rating: PG13 just to be safe, but if anything gets steamy (she hopes it does), I can up the rating.
Summary: Becky sets Wonderlanders up on blind dates. Also, will be image heavy.
The Story:

You receive a letter under your door sometime on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 9. This letter will be addressed to you in fancy script (Becky's best attempt at calligraphy) from a "secret admirer." You might be wondering, but it isn't February! What's with all the romantic nonsense? Well, my good friend, romance can be celebrated on more than just one day out of the year. That day happens to be today. The letter will ask you to meet your secret admirer at 6PM at a designated location. You'd best not be late! A night of romance (and perhaps even intimacy) awaits you! At least, she hopes so...

[The note that arrives is, at first, nearly tossed aside and cannibalized for his own personal notes. The handwriting is...Well. Becky tried, so gold star for her, but it's still not up to snuff to the somewhat-trained 18th Century eye, and the message even more contrite and, really, annoying, enough to get his lip to curl in disgust.

Because if there is one thing Hector Barbossa does not give two shits about, it's anything involving feelings.

However, being unaware of the fact that it's Becky's doing (and God help her when and if he finds out), he knows better than to ignore a Wonderland summons. As much as it boils his blood to know Wonderland's yanking his chain, for the moment there's very little to be done about it.

And so, giving the semblance of going with the flow, to at least see what nonsense this place is planning next (because it's always something stupid) he does make his way down to the docks a little ahead of the appointed time, two more pistols tucked under his jacket, a knife in one of his boots, and extra shot and powder in a pocket, because he's not stupid enough to go anywhere in this place unarmed. And when he gets there, that gnawing suspicion grows, and he stops a few yards from the table, hand resting on his sword hilt, one eyebrow nearly all the way upwards toward his bandana.

Because really, what even is this.]

[Beiste's almost positive it's a prank of some sort. Maybe Sue showed up, finally. At least she'd have another adult from back home to talk to, then. Even if it'd mostly be in defense of her choice in clothing or whatever it was Sue decided to pick on that day.

Or this is an event, and it's picking on something she's self conscious about. Although, maybe not self conscious enough? She sure as hell never picked up on Cooter's crush until it was uncomfortably late. But she's been feeling better about all that, lately, so. So maybe, event or not, this isn't such a bad thing. Might as well see who it is, right?

When she arrives and Barbossa and his fancy hat are already at the end of the dock, she can't help but wonder if she could've possibly missed how he feels about her. Or anyone. Which is to say, she's always sort of assumed the most feeling this guy could drum up about anyone is 'mild disdain' at best. So she just sort of stands there for a few seconds, wondering if this is maybe more of the sea monster sort of event, before giving up and heading over, sea monsters be damned.]

Uh. Hey. You write this? [She hands up the note.]

["Hector". "Feelings". Those words in the same sentence are flat-out laughable, especially concerning any and everyone in the mansion, so the idea that it sums up to 'mild disdain' is, perhaps, an understatement. A great big one.

But there he is, anyway, because - again - Wonderland, only turning the slightest bit to at least side-eye the newcomer and-

Oh. Of course. Because they couldn't make this worse, could they? Of course they can, who is he even remotely fooling.

In answer to the (very awkward, in his opinion) question, he simply reaches in one of his waistcoat (the new, blue one, actually) pockets, withdrawing his own note and holding it over a shoulder between two fingers for her to see.]

Decidedly not. The same amount of not, I wager, that you nary wrote this one. [Fucking Wonderland.]

[She tries to hide her disappointment, which is larger than she'd expected. She shakes her head.]

Not me.

[She glances down the dock, then back at him.]

...What do you think it means? What're we supposed to do?
