( semi-open ) love is a many splendored thing

Who: Everyone who signed up for SHIPPING
Where: All around Wonderland! See below for specific locations.
When: Tuesday, September 9, evening
Rating: PG13 just to be safe, but if anything gets steamy (she hopes it does), I can up the rating.
Summary: Becky sets Wonderlanders up on blind dates. Also, will be image heavy.
The Story:

You receive a letter under your door sometime on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 9. This letter will be addressed to you in fancy script (Becky's best attempt at calligraphy) from a "secret admirer." You might be wondering, but it isn't February! What's with all the romantic nonsense? Well, my good friend, romance can be celebrated on more than just one day out of the year. That day happens to be today. The letter will ask you to meet your secret admirer at 6PM at a designated location. You'd best not be late! A night of romance (and perhaps even intimacy) awaits you! At least, she hopes so...

[ With a chuckle, Phil lifts the plate cover. ]

If it was any of mine, they got an unrelated third party to write the notes, but I've known some of them to do more for a practical joke or a setup.

[ He rests the cover out of the way and glances to the bottle of wine. ]

I can't say that I was really looking for a date, but it would be a shame to leave all of this work to waste. We should at least eat the food, don't you think?

I happen to agree, I can't say I was looking for a date either. [Erwin admitted as he looked over at the plate Phil revealed.]

If you're having a glass of wine, I'll have one. [He said with a pleased look, the wine looked better than anything even available to the upper echelon of society. He didn't often indulge but he could appreciate a nice glass of wine.]

[ Phil can tell a man with a lot on his shoulders--maybe because of how much tends to rest on his own--and he doesn't doubt that they could both use a glass of wine and a few hours to unwind.

He grabs the corkscrew and the bottle and opens it with a soft pop. He's not one for daily drinking, but he likes a glass of wine here and there.

Pouring them each a generous glass, he eyes the food. It's been a while since he had a nice meal laid out for him like this.
]

How long have you been here? I don't think I've seen you around yet.

I've been here a few days, I believe. [Erwin said with a moment of thought.] I happened to arrive during the last event, that's what I believe it was referred to.

It was unexpected turn of events to find myself with covered wagons. [He said as he reached out to take one of the glasses of wine.] I take it you've been here awhile?

A few months. I've been trying to find a way home for me and my people, but so far it's been a whole lot of dead ends.

[ He takes a slow sip from his own glass. ]

Events come and go. Some of them have been strange and harmless, others more dangerous, but it's not always easy to tell which is which.

[personal profile] immutably 2014-09-20 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
What dead ends have you come across? I know two of my cadets have attempted to escape through the forest already. [Erwin said as he sat forward a little, interested to find out what others had tried so he could cross options off his list.]

That is troubling. I've heard mention that such events can come from our memories, has that happened during your stay?

I also tried the forest at one point. [ Natasha had stopped him before he could find the point of no return, but then he'd been not-quite-himself at the time and thankful after the fact. ]

I've thought about the ocean, but I don't want to test the whole death thing. Mostly, I've been focusing on asking people who've been here longer what they've experienced and collecting the data, but it's a whole lot of nothing. Whether or not people leave seems to be random.

[ And, oh boy, is it frustrating. ]

A lot of the events do seem to be related to someone here or something they've experienced.

So we can rule out the forest as a viable option for the time being then. [Erwin decided, taking another sip of wine.]

I would like to see your data you've gathered so far, if you don't mind. I'm interested in the pattern of arrivals and departures, if there are any patterns we can see. There must be a reason, I don't believe it's entirely random or by chance.

No, I don't think it is, either. A bunch of people from my world showed up all at once.

[ He doesn't consider any of his data on this to be a great secret. Anyone could monitor the information, so until he finds a pattern that proved it needs to be a secret, he'd rather get more eyes on it than hide it away. ]

I'm in room 731 if you want to stop by and take a look at what I have.

[personal profile] immutably 2014-09-23 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
And there is a particular pattern to the arrival of those from my world as well. Understanding the pattern may be a part of understanding just why and how we're brought here. [Though perhaps not as obvious as to someone who wasn't in the Corps but Erwin had found it rather fascinating.]

Of course. I will be in contact with you to arrange a time to drop by then.
