[Event Open] On the first day of Ewaymas...
Who: Loki Laufeyson and Open
Where: Mansion, dining hall, garden, generally just out and about
When: 12/12
Rating: PG?
Summary: Loki done drank the Kool Aid. In other words, yes, your worst fears have been imagined: Loki's chipper and loveable.
The Story:
T'was the first morning of an event and all were asleep. Not a creature was stirring... except that ungodly racket outside his chamber door. Loki jolted awake and stepped out, prepared for some kind of assault or ensuing chaos only to see the halls redecorating themselves for some obscene Midgard holiday. Faintly, he recognised some of the gaudy clutter as a largely commercialised holiday among the mortals of his brother's favourite realm. Wonderful.
His casual visit to the dining hall proved far more annoying this his initial awakening. Despite what he insisted upon, the infuriating magic persisted on producing variants of unsightly sweets and colourful yet inedible cakes. He wouldn't need to consume anything to worsen his mood, because no such magic existed to make it any worse. He settled on just taking up the glass of liquid it gave him and moved to the kitchen to snatch a few simple slices of bread. His first taste of the drink was reminiscent of the fruitier alcoholic beverages some mortals drank, but his next few sips seemed to broaden his opinion. By the bottom of the cup, he actually enjoyed the sweet cocktail. Enough so that he had a second, and even indulged in one of the strangely shaped, icing-covered sweets the dining room had previously tried to serve him. Nothing would come of the cookie as the magic of the punch had already taken hold.
He acted on whim and took a chipper stroll around the garden, greeting anyone he met with a smile and even a walk along the beach. He could be found just about anywhere, trying to spread the good cheer to others...

[For bb Billy]
He was on his way back to the mansion to check on Billy's room only to bump into a small child on the way there. The boy looked miffed, and he felt like he know him, but honestly he didn't remember making any other child acquaintances apart from Adam when he'd been here and Billy being the second youngest.
Loki offered a smile and knelt down to be a bit more eye-level with him. "These halls can be quite dangerous. Should you truly be out on your own?"
\O/
Something caught his eye and he looked up at the walls. "How does the shiny stuff stick like that. I tried and tried to pull it down but it wouldn't come down."
<3
"Ah, that sounds much like my dear friend, the Hulk. He can be ever so angry, can't he? Roars a lot? He probably just needs a hug." Good Gods, did he just say that? "But I don't recommend that. Not with your size, little one."
But when the next question was posed of him, his grin brightened. He held out a hand, glittering magic manifesting from the tips of his fingers. "The decorations? Magic." Said with much the same zeal a magician would to a child at a party when they still believe in such things. Fortunately, this time, it was a truth. And with that, the sparkling magic morphed and coiled around Billy's small wrist forming into a bracelet made of the very same sparkling tinsel found on the walls. It was an illusion, of course, but one that felt and looked real enough.
/dead
He is immediately distracted by the magic show Loki puts on for his, his face lighting up in absolute delight. "You can do magic!" He stares down at his wrist with a smile, brushing his fingers over the tinsel. "What else can you do?!"
/Phoenix Down. You aren't allowed to die yet.
To say that Loki was at a momentary loss was the most severe understatement. A blonde, green man, with a bad attitude who would try to spoil a child's delusions of mystical gift providers? Though, the boy was of another faith, so it mattered not, but still. Still...
And realisation dawned on him, green eyes blinking a fraction wider. He only knew one that fit part of that description. "Theodore Altman? The young man with a heart of gold and unbreakable bond with Billy Kaplan? He showed you distasteful hostility?"
But he shook himself out of that momentary worry again to return the smile. "Many things. What would you like to see?" He touched a cool finger against Billy's forehead and the shimmer of magic that followed transformed the boy's entire outfit to something befitting of
Disney on Icea prince of Asgard with added shimmer and glamour.too late!
"That's my name!" He said with a grin. "I'm Billy Kaplan!" He turned his attention back to the clothes he was now wearing examining them closely. "I look like a Prince!"
This is terrible!
"Is it?" He offered a gentler smile. "Then, Billy Kaplan, know that I am a friend." Loki, you are not suitable to adopt children. Not only would you make a horrible parent, Billy has parents. They just aren't here. And since when did you want offspring?
"Ah, but every young man is a prince, is he not? Behold, Billy Kaplan, Prince of Midgard." He gave a showy flick of his wrist and a light crown materialised upon Billy's head.
*wonderful
He laughed as the crown appeared reaching up to touch it. "Will I be a king one day? I don't have to marry a princess do I? Girls are nice but boys are more fun, they don't mind playing in the dirt. Can I marry a prince?"
no subject
However, as Billy babbled on, Loki chuckled--yes a genuine laugh of jovialness and nothing malicious about it. "You have the potential to become more than a king. Something greater. And if a prince you so desire, a prince you will have." Even if said prince was being a bit of a big green dick right now. He would have words with this prickly prince of the cacti people.

"I am that Loki, you are correct. In a manner of speaking. God of Mischief." He winked as if it were their little secret. Who knew children could be this endearing?
no subject
"If you're a god is that why you can make me a prince? And do magic? I want to do magic. You know The Scarlet Witch can do magic? She's my favorite Avenger. I have all her comics."
no subject
"Of course." Well, partly, but it was just easier to agree than to try to explain the convoluted process behind why he can do magic. "Can she? Who is this Scarlet Witch?" Because he didn't remember her name on the Avenger's attendance sheet. "Perhaps, one day, you will learn to do magic as well." He rests a hand on Billy's shoulder, smiling warmly at him. Because you will, Billy. You will and Loki couldn't be more proud of you right now. Y'know. It's the punch talking, but...

"No. Thor and I share different parents. I'm his brother by right, not blood. Adopted as it were. Give your brothers time. They will mature into siblings you will hardly be able to keep up with in no time. You will see." Oh, he will have so many questions for you when you're all grown up again, Billy.

"I must say, wishes would be a waste on me, young Kaplan." He had to be nice. Nowhere in the rules did it say he had to be honest. As a matter of fact, being nice, for Loki, was a pretty effective lie in and of itself. "What other two wishes would you ask for?"

Until he runs into who he knows is Loki, sees him smiling and happy outside of the mansion, and knows that isn't right. Not that Henry doesn't believe Loki could be a better person if he wanted too, just...he knows it wouldn't happen like this. But maybe now's his chance to meet him without worrying it could end really badly.
Smiling at him in the garden, Henry gives a little wave. "You've been here a while, haven't you? I've seen you around. I'm Henry."
This is all either really cool, or it's all going to end badly.
no subject
Henry's friendly greeting is met with an equally warm one from the Frost Giant in Asgardian skin. "That I have. Just over eight months in accordance to the calendar of Midgard. Well met, Henry. I am Loki." He says with a slight bow of his head. "I believe I have seen you around, so I am to presume you are not a victim of this... event, if that's what it truly is. Are you enjoying the festivities of the Mansion? The snow?"
no subject
He isn't really sure, it's easy to lose track of time here. "And no, when everyone started turning into little kids, I decided not to eat anything, but it is nice. I like Christmas stuff, and the snow. I guess...I guess it could always be worse."
Adults turning into kids isn't the worst thing they could turn into.

Lilith darts forward, drawing Loki into a tight hug, grinning wildly as she holds him. "How are you? you look wonderful today! I have missed you!" She gushes.
no subject
"Lady Lilith! It is most definitely a pleasure! You are radiant as ever!" His smile was just way to bright. "I am wonderful! And yourself?"
no subject
"All the better for seeing you. And how handsome you are! You are, as always, a dark god that I cannot resist."
no subject
Stepping outside certainly didn't help matters any as she stood by the edge of the gardens, peering around her with wide-eyed curiosity, trying to take in everything at once.
Everything was so strange here.
I get bb Tasha! <3
He approached her with a warm smile and held a hand out to her, one of the flowers materialising from a shimmer of green in his palm, freshly clipped. It was an offering to the little lost spy. "Are you lost little one?"
no subject
"How did you do that?"
no subject
"I think you might have a guess." He smiles and waves his free hand towards the the ground and at her feet more flowers sprung from the ground, unfurling their leaves followed by a rapidly maturing buds that quickly open into beautiful, deep red flowers. An illusion, of course, but as real to all of the senses as any other flower. "Magic."
no subject
Of course, being suddenly surrounded by vibrant red blossoms that hadn't been there a moment is a hard trick to explain away and she goes carefully still, still gripping his hand in a tight grip as she glances around her in confused surprise.
no subject
"You deny what you see with your eyes and what you feel with your fingers, but you cannot ignore that something is happening, can you, little one?" The petals and flowers explode harmlessly into a shower of green, glittering magic, falling and slowly fading away.

Since his drowning, he'd avoided the beach, but with his new outlook, he found that he liked the give of the sand beneath his loafers as the waves crashed over the sand like the very heartbeat of Wonderland. He often wondered if this place wasn't alive, but for once that thought didn't scare him as much as usual.
Noticing his companion, he offered a smile and held up the flask.
"Scotch?"
no subject
"I think that just may complete this lovely stroll." When Loki does eventually come to his senses, he will probably want to burn the memories of these past few days from his mind. But for now, he just smiled right back, accepting the offer of a drink, handing it back shortly after.
"Well met, my friend. You seem to be enjoying the beauty of this extraordinary Land of Wonder as well, are you not?"
no subject
He never found himself bored here. Maybe that was because whenever he got to relaxing, something catastrophic happened before he could get bored with it, but it was easy to look on the bright side today, wasn't it?
Taking another drink, he added, "Have you been here long?"
12/16 because i do what i want (and we also talked about it)
Or maybe they'll all get eaten, and it'll be a non-issue. Either way, Pepper has far more appealing ways to spend her holiday, and/or final hours.
So with her so-called real now trapped on the other side, she wanders the halls of the mansion in search of one particular person. It's strange how eager she is to see him; despite his gift of the mirror she never expected to keep in such close contact. Yet those brief conversations with Loki had been enough to hold her interest, and now even before she acts out her plan, she goes looking for him.
Thankfully it doesn't take too long, although Pepper doesn't make herself known just yet. Why miss the opportunity to surprise him, when it's so very rare? She lets her good mood fuel her, aware that her other had been sickeningly cheerful just before the Jabberwock emerged. The real side has been enduring something far less painful, although it could still prove annoying should Loki be under its effects.
"Merry Christmas, Loki!" She smiles brightly, saccharine sweet as she greets him like a friend, or a punch-addled twit. Same difference.
I will admit to nothing. Shhhhh.
So, when she is suddenly in his presence, smiling so sickeningly sweet while expressing the greeting with such exuberance, he might have flinched. Just a bit. He looks her over, a mix of uncertainty and exasperation. He's so tired of these happy people, children, and overly pissy irritants that he half considers just walking on past. But he doesn't.
"Miss Potts, you are aware that you loathe me, correct? Or has that minute detail simply slipped your mind at present? Allow me to remind you, you loathe me." Yes, Loki. This is totally how you make friends. And you have tried to make peace with her before, so why her sudden acceptance of him makes him irritable is a mystery. Perhaps because the magic of Wonderland is at play here, and it's not exactly something he has the patience to deal with. That and, well, he remembers Lilith's very physical greeting and isn't in the mood to be hugged by anyone again so soon.
no subject
Much later. For now, however, she is far too delighted by his insistance that her other despises him.
"How could you say that? It's horrible." And yet she stands on the verge of laughter, delight in her eyes as she looks him over. "You just need to get into the spirit of things. I bet I could find a way to help you do that."
no subject
"As strange as it may seem, I say it because it is the honest truth. And as the God of Lies, it should be noted that when the unadulterated truth is spoken, it should be a testament to how serious this is." That actually probably isn't helping your argument there, Loki. But he stops and he looks her over carefully again, not sure how to take that. If it wasn't so easy for him to be a dick, he might actually feel bad being such to the likeness of the woman of his affections. "I have my doubts, my dear. Before you embarrass us both, I suggest you return to your gaggle of do-gooders. I'm sure Rogers could use some of your... spirit." As it stands, he obviously has no issue with it.
no subject
But if it makes him feel better, she doesn't actually touch him--yet.
"And now you think I'm going to embarrass you. Really Loki, you're going to hurt my feelings if you keep this up." Even she can't keep up the facade of innocence, however, nor does she want to. She favors him a grin, more mischievous now than playful, deciding it's time for the game to change between them.
"I'm sure Steve has plenty of spirit all on his own. You're the one who needs my help getting his up." The words aren't quite a warning, but rather innuendo made clear when she closes that last bit of distance between them, moving quickly to press her lips against his in an insistent kiss. Had he been worried about this when he spoke of embarrassment? Pepper hardly knows, but she grins against his mouth all the same at the thought of it.
no subject
"You are one crafty mortal, Lady Potts." Oh look, the title's back. Yep, he knows just who she is, now. "To out-mischief me is quite impressive." And a compliment? Wow, he must really miss her. He proceeds to kiss her again, a bit more wanting than he meant to convey.
no subject
"You really should learn the difference between us." This had been the second time, and after they had acted on the mutual attraction of their first encounter, no less. It's a little sloppy, and Pepper will tell him as much--later, when she isn't so invested in the feeling of his mouth on hers. That his desire is so evident she hardly faults him for; in truth she feels the same, her fingers hooking into the waistband of his breeches and tugging him towards her, although she did have patience enough not to actually try and take them off.
For now.
"Although if we don't get back to your room quickly, I may just find a way to embarrass you after all." She hasn't forgotten that they are in a very public hall, yet part of her doesn't care--and that is all the more reason for the warning. Those first few kisses make it clear to her just how eager she is to lose herself with him, how much she wants to be with him in this brief and fleeting window. Her hands slip around his waist, palms pressed to leather as she draws them up his back. She has missed him to a dangerous degree, one unsafe to indulge when they remain out in the open.
no subject
"My apologies. I will, of course, have to study you in full, unrushed, to be sure I will be able to identify every little difference of your ravishing form from hers." He looks her up and down suggestively, as best he can with their bodies so close. Her next statement makes him all the more eager to agree.
He leans past her lips to her ear, giving it a light nip before speaking, "Then do hold on tight." It's the only warning he gives before his hand on her hip slides around to hold her around the waist, secure and close. His magic spikes and fluctuates, engulfing them in green before their ripped from that point in reality and inserted to the centre of his room, the same as when she last saw it. The teleportation spell simmered away, the green magic falling like glitter from their bodies, dissipating before it reaches the ground.
His lips immediately find her neck thereafter, kissing and biting gently. "To what," He kisses her skin between words, "do I owe this visit?"
no subject
She heeds his warning, laughing as the green swirl of magic flows around them. In less that a heartbeat their surroundings shift, from the hall to the privacy of his room. Quite a convinent spell it is, and she means to tell him as such. Her head arches back at the warm heat of his mouth on her neck, her pulse racing in anticipation of what would come so soon between them. Yet even before she can start, get beyond opening the first annoying buckle of his outfit, he asks the one question she yearns not to hear. She wants almost nothing more than to forget the horror of the Jabberwock, the danger it presents--yet she cannot before offering him warning.
"Oh, my foolish Loki." Who made her just as foolish. She had longed for a time such as this, when they could be together, savor each other without some duty to the Queen forcing her away. And yet that very longing made her pull away, her smile tight as she stepped back from him. She would still have him, but first, she had to do something entirely against her nature: she had to protect him, so much as she could.
"I was hoping you would be too distracted to be curious just yet." Though she puts a necessary distance between them, she doesn't leave him entirely. Her hands slip down his arms, her fingers curling around his so she can pull him towards the bed. All their desires aside, her intentions for the moment are chaste, and she leads him to sit beside her. She still grins, but even for her talent at wearing masks, there is something far from delight in her eyes as she gives her answer.
"The Jabberwocky."
