Summary: Christmas chicken and cake has to be a little late this year, but Souji and Tohru aren't balked by that.
The Story:
This year is the second annual KFC Christmas in Wonderland. At least, it was planned to be. The Jabberwocky, Mirror switching, and Souji's amnesia caused a slight delay, but when everything went back to normal last night, he remembered his and Tohru's plans.

They convened in the diner this morning to get things ready before setting a signboard and the Colonel (plus twinkling fairy lights) outside the door to advertise the post-Christmas special.

Fried chicken (with Souji's best approximation of the 11 herbs and spices), a few appropriate sides, and plenty of Christmas cake complete the menu today. Cocoa, coffee, tea, and various other drinks are available.

"I'd do that for you too." Minato wanted to make that clear.

He started on the rest of the food, then looked up at Souji again.

"If I wanted more, would that be okay too?"

"More food or more of me?"

Either was fine with Souji.

"Both, but you know what I want the most of." And that is, if Souji was offering.

Minato invited Souji to share the food he had. There was a lot, and it was more fun to share.

"Mn, after your shift here, do you have any plans?"

Souji accepted the invitation, finding a fork of his own so that Minato wouldn't have to wait for him.

"Nn." He shook his head. "Do you want to do something?"

Minato smiled, taking a sip of his cola before speaking again.

"I do. I want to spend time with you."

A long time.

"Whose room should we go to?"

They both understood, he thought. You spent a long time with ______.

"Mine, since I invited. Unless you have other ideas."

Minato could fight Souji on this. Maybe. But he did want to see how Souji would react. Minato could be more forward if he had to be.

Souji considered, then nodded. "Yours will work. Senpai."

"I like the sound of that. Kouhai." Minato sipped his soda again.

"Should I wait for you here for your shift to end, or should I wait in my room for you to come there?"

Minato smiled and winked at Souji.

Souji couldn't help a quiet laugh.

"Do you need to get anything ready?"

[jivitadana]

Minato shook his head. "I'm always ready. I can wait here with you."

Plus he didn't want to leave Souji's side.

Souji nodded and rose. "I'll get back to work and make sure I can leave on time."

"Don't work too hard." Minato winked at Souji again, and finished up whatever food was left save for the cake. He had a little excuse then to stick around.

He waited for Souji to finish, not wanting to bother him while he was at work. He put on his headphones, and turned his music on.

It was only an hour or so before Souji came back over to the table, apron-less and not-quite-smiling.

"Ready." He speaks just loud enough to be heard over Minato's music, though his voice is still pretty quiet.

Minato nodded, turning off his music, and getting up from the table. He reached for Souji's hand instead of putting it in his pocket like he normally would.

"Does this mean..." He looked up at Souji and lowered the normal, soft-spoken tone to a whisper. "... now I get you all to myself?"

Souji squeezed Minato's hand.

"All of me."

"I want all of you." Minato thought he could afford to be selfish in that respect. But the thought had an underlying melancholy tone to it; he didn't know how much longer he had with Souji here and in Minato's life, happiness was such a fleeting thing. He only hoped he could hang onto here for as long as he could.

Minato opened the door to his room to let them both in. He didn't have to tell Souji to make himself as home since he'd been here often enough.

"Thank you." Souji didn't have to be here with him, but he said he would and here he was.

Thanking Souji was unnecessary. He was there because he wanted to be, for himself as much as for Minato.

Rather than answering verbally, he leaned down slightly and kissed Minato.

Minato tilted his head up to meet Souji halfway, and kissed him back. He brought a hand up to Souji's chest not to push him away, but to make sure he was still going to be there.

Souji took Minato's hand and pulled away to speak again.

"Let's spend a long time together."

[jivitadana]

"If you can keep up with me." Minato got on his tiptoes and whispered it in Souji's ear.

He smiled, using a free hand to touch Souji's bottom lip. "You have soft lips."

One corner of Souji's mouth quirked up and he took Minato's hand, holding it as he kissed him again.

Minato kissed Souji back like he had the last time. Perhaps he was just giving Souji incentive to do it again, but he didn't mind. He could live with this.

It was his turn though to break the kiss even if he didn't want to. But he thought maybe he had to. His eyes glanced over toward the bed. It was going to be more comfortable over there, is what Minato rationalized. Best rationalization ever.

Souji could agree to that. As much as he'd have rather not stopped kissing Minato, he did, just so that they could get over there and he could pull Minato down onto the bed with him without either of them breaking their necks on the way over.

Once on the bed, Minato couldn't help but smile again, tinged with subtle playfulness, something Souji should be able to see but perhaps go unnoticed to the untrained eye. It felt nice: He could be Minato in front of Souji. He didn't even have to put that part into words. Souji understood.

He gave Souji a brief kiss before removing his headphones and mp3 player off and deftly depositing them over on the nightstand. Then still with that sly smile across his lips, he had his finger entwine itself with an end of his black ribbon tie, hook onto it, and start to undo the knot and pull it off his neck.
