All my loving, I will send to you | OPEN
Who: Tohru Honda [
breakthecurse] and OPEN
Where: The diner (in the morning) and then out for deliveries!
When: Saturday, February 14th (backdated)
Rating: PG
Summary: Tohru's made Valentine's chocolate and she probably has some for you!
The Story:
It occurs to Tohru at some point that maybe, perhaps, she went a little overboard.
For most of the morning, there's an entire section of the counter populated by dozens of treat bags in perfect rows. When it became clear that there were no murderers running around (like last year) and that the mansion itself would not be doing anything to them on Valentine's Day weekend, Tohru set to work! She's spent the last few days making heart-shaped chocolates and caramels and now...
...well, now she has a lot of them. But she supposes it's better to have way too many than not enough, right?
Anyone who comes into the diner in the morning or early afternoon will be enthusiastically given a treat bag (each of which has a bag of chocolate and a bag of caramel inside) and wished a very happy Valentine's Day. Around three in the afternoon, Tohru hangs up her apron and leaves the diner to Souji and/or Mr. Ned for a little while. She has some deliveries to make!
When she asks the closet politely for something to help her carry the remainder of the bags, it gives her a little red wagon, which is absolutely perfect (so long as she's careful with the stairs). From there, Tohru sets out to make deliveries to all of her friends, as long as she knows where they live or where they might be. She has more than enough for the entire mansion though, so if she bumps into someone the the hall or anywhere else, she will probably (and happily) give them a treat bag as well, whether she knows them or not.
[ooc: Prose or [action brackets] are fine; I'll match!]

[She makes a determined fist as she says this. She is on a mission today!]
Ah, you have really good timing though! I have something for you too.
[Tohru picks up one of the bags carefully and hands it over with a wide smile.]
Happy Valentine's Day, Lydia!
no subject
( Lydia gives Tohru a curious expression until Tohru pulls out on of the bags and hands it to her. That and the wish are a very cute thing. Oh Tohru )
Thank you, Tohru.
( It's put a smile on Lydia's face anyway )
I wish I had something for you. I've been busy planning.
( Maybe she'll add little gifts to her party for attendees )
no subject
That's okay! You don't need to give me anything. Besides, I know you've been busy getting ready for your party. I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun!
[Honestly, after how horrible Valentine's Day was last year, Tohru can't say she's expecting anything from anyone. She's always enjoyed giving out Valentine's chocolate to her friends though, and she's never worried about what she would get in return. It's just nice to have someone to give things to!]

( And Lydia was glad that someone seemed to be looking forward to it. She hadn't heard from anyone else about it but it was a busy day )
Maybe there'll be something at the party for you.
no subject
W-What? Really?
[She also sounds genuinely surprised, as though she wasn't expecting anything at all. So, of course, she shakes her head. She's always modest to a fault.]
U-Um, I don't know what to say! That's very kind of you, but please don't go out of your way on my account.
[What if she put her on the spot by giving her a gift and now she feels like she has to give something in return to the point where it interrupts her party preparations? That wasn't what Tohru intended at all!]
no subject
( And she'd probably now do one for everyone that attended. It had been a nice gesture when Vanessa had done it at her party and Lydia had felt as touched now that Tohru had thought of it )
It isn't any trouble.
no subject
[She's slowly learning that refusing too much can be just as rude as accepting right away. She really is touched by the gesture though. She really wasn't expecting anything in return, and it's nice of Lydia to think of her in return.]
I'll be absolutely sure to come to the party then! I-I mean, I was going to anyway whether there would be anything there or not, of course! I'll definitely be there!
no subject
( There's a big smile from Lydia at that, and she rearranges her notebook in her hand to put the little present in the same hand )
How many more people do you have to give gifts to?
no subject
[Tohru glances back at the little wagon behind her, which is still mostly full.]
...A lot of people, I think. Either that or I made too many to begin with, which...might be what happened.
[She kind of went overboard making candy.]

If you left the spares in the kitchen with a note I'm sure people would enjoy them.
no subject
[It's entirely possible that she might have made more bags than there are people in Wonderland. It's hard to keep track sometimes.]
I left some in the diner already, in case anyone there would like one.
no subject
( Looking forward to trying them? YOU BET. She might go to the kitchen for a second bag maybe )
Did you make them all?
no subject
[She's being modest. She's spent a month practicing and they're probably very good.]
no subject
( And even if they're not it's definitely a very sweet thought and that is what counts )
I wouldn't have known where to start on something like this.
no subject
[It would be awful if they weren't!]
It wasn't too difficult to learn, if you ever wanted to. I borrowed a book from the library about it. It was a little bit tricky when the closets weren't working correctly, but once they were repaired I just practiced the recipe until it came out right.
no subject
( Watching an expert? You bet. And maybe some taste testing and nice conversation too )
no subject
[It might be fun to show someone else how to make them! It hadn't been too hard to learn, and they would probably have a good time.]
