Who: Zelena and David Nolan!
Where: His room
When: The 14th!
Rating: PG
Summary: Zelena's checking if Mary Margaret's around. Blame Regina for this one.
The Story:
Loath as she is to admit it, Regina actually had a good idea. For once. Zelena doesn't expect it to happen again. But this time, this one time, she did. And that idea was that she should go make certain that Snow White has departed Wonderland.
So she's just going to teleport into David's room. Because why knock? This is far too important for that and even if it wasn't, she's the Wicked Witch of the West, she's not going to be polite and wait for him to answer the door. She'll just appear in a puff of green smoke. And hopefully he's around because she's immediately asking “Where is she?” and she'd just look silly if she were talking to an empty room.
Which really isn't as unlikely as she would like to think given the past few weeks.

He can't fall apart. David knows he has people relying on him. He can't let himself crumble. Emma needs him. Henry needs him. That doesn't stop him from taking some time each day to be upset by himself. Locking himself away in his room with a book for a couple of hours gives him a chance to process on his own. Something that Zelena decides to interrupt with her very unpleasant company.
Immediately he stands from his lounge chair and goes to grab his sword. So tired of your shit, Zelena.

She lifts up her hand ready to...freeze him in place? Magic the sword away? Fling a fireball? The possibilities are nearly endless. But it's the second one she's going for. At any rate, she figures that a raised hand is really all that's needed to back up her warning because, y'know. Magic.
“But I would answer my question if I were in your shoes, so I'll ask again. Where is she?”
Yeah, wow. She doesn't really care how you feel David, so just answer the question so she can move on with her life. Or throw a giant angry tantrum because her life is ruined forever now. Or would it be fiveever since Regina's existence pretty much ruined it forever?

He doesn't answer immediately. Clinging to his last bit of free will right now. He doesn't want to give her an answer. She doesn't deserve one. She still has power over David. He's going to have to ask Regina to do a spell or something. Anything to keep Zelena from popping into his room unwanted again. He couldn't keep dealing with this.
"Gone. She went home. It's just me now."
Which is the worst part for David. He needs to be with his family. Even if half of it is here. Mary Margaret and Neal need him.

Except the problem here is, that's not the answer she wanted. Which might be obvious from the unhappy look on her face and the fact that she put her hand down, so there's no magical threat at the moment. She doesn't want Mary Margaret to be gone because the two of you are supposed to have a baby, and then she's supposed to take the baby, and then she's supposed to use the baby to travel back in time, and then Regina won't exist anymore.
“Are you sure she's not coming back? People tend to come and go all the time.”
She just stepped out for a week fairly recently, so she knows it happens. She just doesn't know if that's what's happening here.

"That's what Emma said, but she's been gone too long. Long enough that it's more of a permanent exit." He was holding out for her returning, but Emma said that wasn't the case. She was gone. David's gaze flickers to the empty baby carrier in the corner. The same one he arrived here with. It was missing Neal and David spent hours outside looking for his son only to have people tell him he didn't make the trip probably. "No spell for you huh?"

“No. Absolutely not.”
She sounds uncertain, but that's really all she can say. She can't just give up. That's too much and a direction that's beyond her at the moment. Though it's a thought that's becoming more and more prevalent today no matter how much she doesn't want to even think about it.
“I've spent far far too much of my life working towards this to give up now. She'll come back. And then I'll get what I want. Or I'll find another way. Either way, I'm going to cast my spell no matter what.”
This is clearly something she's telling herself to make things seem better.
