Summary: There is a large mourning dove staring at passerby.
The Story:

At some point, it seemed that the mansion had turned into a hotsprings inn. His friends certainly would have enjoyed time here. No doubt Nageki would as well, if only he knew what he was supposed to do. If he had ever seen such a place before, he certainly didn't remember it and he didn't know who he could ask. In the end, he chose to settle in a corner for a little bit and watch others as they went about their business. Just until he thought of what he wanted to do.

"That shouldn't be too hard to do. Or we could even find someone who spoke the language the book was written in originally and compare what they read to what we read in the translated version."

"Do you know which way spoken words are translated?" Otherwise, the comparison might not be useful.

"...No." Hrm. Nageki's idea is looking like the more viable one.

He shifts in the water, thinking he probably shouldn't stay in the water too much longer. He's starting to feel pretty warm.

"We should try it sometime, though." You know, when the library is actually available.

[mourning_ghost]

Nageki nods. He wants to know the answer, too.

"I'm usually in the library." Whenever the mansion isn't changing forms or messing with memories anyway.

Kaneki blinks, curious. "Are you living in there?"

[mourning_ghost]

"No." Although he is spending more time there than he is in his own room. Five years of actually living in a library created habits that are a bit difficult to break.

[itwouldbeatragedy]

Kaneki supposes it wouldn't be a big deal if he did live in the library, but a room would probably be more comfortable. Though door knobs might be difficult....

"I have to admit I've spent the night in their before when I've gotten lost. It's only happened a couple times though."

[mourning_ghost]

"How did you find your way out?"

At least Nageki doesn't have to worry about getting lost in there. He could probably just fly up to the ceiling and exit through the nearest window.

"I wandered until I got to the exit. I think if it were anywhere but the library, it might have been frightening, but if I have to be lost somewhere, it might as well be where there are a lot of books."

[mourning_ghost]

"I suppose." He would mostly wish that he could be lost with his friends, if he did get lost. But having books around would be pretty nice as well. "Too bad you can't often choose where you get lost."

[itwouldbeatragedy]

"True." Kaneki shifts again in the water, then gets up. "I think I'm at my limit, Nageki-kun. Are you going to stay longer?"

[mourning_ghost]

"I think so. Thank you," Nageki says sincerely.

Kaneki offers him a smile as he climbs out of the water.

"I'll see you later, then."
