Who: Sam and Maxine
Where: The hot springs after dark.
When: Dated back to the hotsprings event
Rating: PG-13 I guess, for language.
Summary: Sam and Maxine take time to relax and enjoy the novelty of being able to soak in hot water
The Story:
The last few weeks have taken their toll on Sam and he's been one of the least affected, at least physically. But it's reawakened instincts, paranoia, that Sam had been working to ignore. It's all flared up again, the wary watchfulness that only comes when you're used to being hunted.
Not having any proper clothes to wear does make make this any easier.
But for now, he's found a pool that's a little secluded but still in sight of the Inn, for him and Maxine to enjoy. He's still worried about her. He's been worried about her a lot recently, unsurprisingly, between mind control and London and demons, he thinks he's allowed to fuss.

There's nightmares in the dark. Always have been, always will be. That doesn't mean she's going to spend her life hiding.
"Psst. Hey you," she stage-whispers from around a larger jut of stone, waiting until Sam's looking her way before smiling and wobbling forth a bottle of sake she'd procured by her own devious methods. "Is this where the party is?"

"Maxine!" He grins at her, bright and happy and laughs when she shows off the bottle that she's brought with her. "Absolutely. You can obviously see all of the... party-like things going on right now."

She gives a preening little wiggle as she takes a seat, hiking up her yukata to her knees and dangling her feet into the water as well. Bravado, of course, but she's hardly the only person from Abel to pair fresh bruises with another little flaunt of ego.

He figures they're working on the same rules as home. Bad things happen but this is a time away from that.

"Their fault for leaving the shack unguarded!" she retorts, and the fact that everyone knew what an after-dark hour-long preprogrammed spot on Radio Abel actually meant, and exactly why the microphones had been temporarily unmanned. "Do you even remember what we went in there looking for?"
no subject
"Absolutely. They deserved everything they got!" Going off to get laid they were totally asking for the radio booth to be invaded.
"Uh... no. Not a clue. I remember throwing up the next morning though."
no subject
"Yeah, let's try to skip that part this time."
no subject
"Yeah, it would be pretty embarrassing and I don't want to wake up Billy and Teddy by throwing up." That would just be... mortifying.
