Summary: to cheer everyone up after the event and to celebrate finally getting her act back together, queen elsa is using her powers to create a winter wonderland mini celebration, to bring a little, fun reminder of winter fun despite the hot weather. feel free to tag each other, too!


The Story:



( tea rooms! frozen desserts! )

[ the idea comes to her when it becomes clear that all is well again. or, as well as it can be. it is also clear that many people were as afraid as her. she walks among them and wishes she could do something to help. she has done all she can do to keep those who wanted to hurt others in bay, has kept the ice wall in her floor up as much as she would but now -

elsa is a queen and as such, she thinks she should know what to for morale but that always seemed to be anna's territory rather than her own.

and then the idea comes to use her powers for something - something - well, fun.

those who will wander to the tea rooms will find trays of ice creams scoops, frozen milkshake and other such frozen desserts and one snow queen, graciously waiting. ]

help yourself to whatever it is you want, I thought all could use a treat.


( ice skating )


[ the next day, she will go a bit further. the weather would remain hot but out in the grounds, a make do ice skating rink will appear! at the side, there would be pairs of skates just waiting to be picked up. she asked for several pairs from her own wardrobe but feel free to ask for a brand new pair of your own from yours. either way, get a pair and join the celebration! ]

( snow day! )

[ the last day, she will come out to the garden and grounds and with a swirl of hands, they will be filled with soft, cold snow that won't melt for hours and hours. it will be warm enough but there will be enough snow for snowball fights, snowmen and even to slide around at! elsa herself would be seen going between everyone and every now and then, adding a little more snow it it does melt ]

You know, there are some people who might consider that to be cheating.

[Fortunately, Hazel wasn't one of them. If you had a power, you use it. Which was precisely why she planned on taking any major battles underground. Her field of preference.]

[glazes]

Only if I enchant them to chase them.

[ she is rarely so playful with anyone but her sister. but wonderland has taken from her some of her queenly duties and that allows elsa to simply be for once. she finds that she quite enjoys this, sitting like this, getting to know people. ]

letting you have them surely is not.

[She leaned over, tentatively poking at the newly formed pile.]

How do I know this isn't a trick? For all I know, you could have made it so that they explode in my face the moment I try to throw one.

[glazes]

I don't think I could do that, even if I wanted to. my magic is extensive but not so much as to create a snow bomb.

[ though it's a very curious thought and a funny prank to pull on anna or kristoff when she'll go back home to arendelle ]

What else can it do?

..I mean, if you want to tell me. I'll understand if you don't.

[It wasn't as if she was particularly open about her own abilities. Most of Wonderland didn't even know of her heritage, let along the fact that she had any supernatural powers.]

[glazes]

I can make snow.

[ she doesn't wish to speak of the blizzards and the frost and the eternal winter, she flexes her fingers, makes soft snow fall around them, enough to create a dusting on the ground. ]

and -

[ another swish and a little castle is built between them, like a sand castle of snow. ]

but certainly not to explode on the first touch.

So you can make snow, and then manipulate it into all sorts of different shapes?

[She thought of Leo. Only, instead of snow, his element was fire.]

[glazes]

-- Yes, ice and snow.

[ see, she'll make a penguin of ice. it even has every little detail. one cannot say that elsa's powers cannot create beauty. her own fears always involved the darker results of those powers. but now is not the time for worries, now is the time to ease them. ]

once, I've managed to create Olaf but that never happened since.

[ a moment passes and she adds ]

he's a snowman who likes warm hugs.

[Oh, that penguin was so cute! Hazel couldn't help a small bout of laughter as she watched the tiny creature form, tilting her head from one side to the next to get all the possible angles. Creating with snow...it was different than any of her sketches. It was three-dimensional. No, more than that; there was that special glint of light that captures on the surface when her eyes look at it just the right away.]

[It was almost like magic.]

A snowman...

[She took a second to run Elsa's words over again in her mind. It still didn't make sense.]

He does know what warm means, doesn't he?

[glazes]

-- well, I don't think he always knew.

[ thank god elsa wasn't there when olaf sang his fantasies about partying in summer. she smiles a bit and shrugs a little. it doesn't make a lot of sense, as most childish dreams do not but olaf is real, though she thinks it'll be hard to believe ]

I made a little cloud of flurry follow him about so he wouldn't melt.

[keeperfromtheflame]

Is he here with you?

[She glanced up, darting her head around in search of any warm-loving snowmen that might be hobbling around.]

[glazes]

No. Olaf's at Arendelle with my sister Anna and her -

[ friend? boy friend? ice man? ]

friend, Kristoff. I trust he is keeping her company and they cheer each other up. he's her favorite, Olaf, she made him up when she was very young.

[keeperfromtheflame]

[It was hard not to smile a little at the noticeable pause. Fortunately for Elsa, Hazel wasn't quite as prone to latching on to such subtle hints as, say, Aphrodite. She could wonder, sure, but it wasn't her place to speculate. Much.]

I see.

So your sister made up this character, and you brought him to life. You two must be close.

[glazes]

Anna's all the family I have. It's been just the two of us for a while now.

[ since their parents have passed. she thinks of all the family she never heard of, aunt ingrid and the third aunt whose name she has yet to learn. those of mist haven seem to have heard of them but not elsa. apparently, even her parents kept secrets and elsa's powers weren't the only thing kept hidden ]

we have kristoff now and his reindeer Sven and Olaf, of course. Anna loved to play pretend, we always used Olaf and when he came to life - they immediately became best friends.

[keeperfromtheflame]

[Close, indeed. Part of Hazel could relate, as she thought of her dear brother. Part of her wished she could relate more; she and Nico had only known one another for a year's time, after all, even though they had been born not too long from one another, even if to different mothers in different parts of the world.]

Nico...my brother, that is...he's the only family I have left too.

My mother died a long time ago. His mother and sister did, too.

[And their father...well, that was complicated. Nico would sometimes have him pop in for a chat. Hazel never would.]

[glazes]

we've lost our parents too, myself and Anna, some time ago.

[ both of them. at the time elsa felt too young to reign and too scared to leave her room and too sad to do much of anything and too shut out to face her people or anna. those were some of her darkest days, days spent huddled in her room, watching the walls cover themselves with frost. ]

I'm glad you have someone, we all need that, I think.

[It was an awful thing to have in common. Though Hazel could only hope the circumstances under which Elsa had lost hers didn't come close to the way she'd lost her own mother....]

I agree. And Nico, especially...I owe my life to him.

[Literally, as he'd snuck her out of the underworld once he'd found her. She was alive again because he brought her back.]
