[Event:Open] Who are you to tell me how
Who: Loki and Mirror!Loki + Open
Where: Both Real and Mirror sides
When: Duration of the event
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Loki testing tears and Mirror!Loki on both sides of the glass.
The Story:
[Loki: Start of the Event]
Loki can be found experimenting with the cracks in Wonderland. Testing where they lead and if he could close them, however the latter was having no success. It wasn't that he really cared, it was more curiosity. And he really didn't want anything dreadful to crawl through one of them... It wasn't his problem, but he would inevitably have to fight and that would be a hassle, he was sure.
[M!Loki: Beginning to Mid Event]
Mirror Loki can be found monitoring the tears on the Mirror side to protect any Reals that accidentally or deliberately cross over. Honestly, children, stay on your side of the glass where it's safer...
Later, he will be forced over to the Real side by his Real, however he will know the reason for this and not fight it. Then he can be found anywhere on the Real side looking after the Reals that remain and trying to protect them from any violent Mirrors that have crossed.
[Thor]
Loki had been experimenting with the tears, curious more than anything. He found a few that dropped him right in the Mirror Realm. After backing back out, he found a message left in his room by his mirror. There were few here who still knew and wrote Asgardian. Twice as many if you counted the mirrors, however he had no reason to believe it wasn't his mirror. It took him some time to decide before he finally sent a message to Thor in the form of a projected illusion as always:
"Brother, some of these tears send others to the Mirror realm. My own Mirror left me a message upon my investigating the Mirror realm. Their queen has suggested items of sentimental value as tribute to the Core in order to repair the cracks. I... perhaps have something of value to contribute if you are willing to accompany me." Loki didn't have hardly any personal effects with him, but he did have an item acquired in Wonderland that had some meaning to him.
[Billy]
A certain mirror with aid of a locator spell was able to find a certain magic user. Though, oddly enough, it sent up three pings on his radar. That was... something he would have to ask about. He gave pause before approaching the boy testing the tears. His demeanour is regal, rigid, but calm. He didn't smile, but his expression was still soft somehow.
"Perhaps you should consider remaining on your side of the glass, young Kaplan. It is far safer there."

for m!loki on the real side
[no, that annoying sound is not the fairy guide given to you from day one of your epic journey to save the princess and the world who constantly reminds you to go finish the water temple despite its length and difficulty when you just want to ride your beautiful horse - it's april. or, well, a version of april. she takes a few running steps to catch up with loki's mirror, waving oh-so-excitedly as she catches her breath from her little jog over.]
I saw you, earlier? Protecting those real people? Aren't you, um, [then, more conspiratorially:] nervous that Queen might find out?
no subject
Of course not. Everything I do is to serve our beautiful Queen first and foremost. I wish simply for casualties to be limited on both sides of the glass. I see no reason for us to fight needlessly when there are much greater stakes at risk. Perhaps if our siblings and the Reals could work together at her Majesty's task, we may find victory that much sooner. Do you disagree?
[Someone should really just paint flowers on his coat at this point...]
no subject
[she looks relieved that he's not trying to undermine the queen, really. and she nods along with what he's saying. because, really, there's always a ton of violence but why?]
Also, I've been trying to find a Real person that might be willing to give us what she wanted. Like, maybe, if we help a few out they'll know we're here to help. No one wants the Core to just fail, right? And if we work together [hint hint hint] just imagine how much we can accomplish!
no subject
[And at that, he looks truly saddened.]
Agreed. I left a compelling argument in my counterpart's room. He has crossed over to help, as shocking as that may be. If he can be convinced, I'm sure the more rational individuals here could be as well. A partnership sounds like a wonderful idea, my lady.
[He offers her a shallow bow and a kind smile.]
Where would you like to start?
no subject
[she tries to remember if she knows anything about his counterpart and thinks she might have seen him a couple of times. but if he was this nice, is real either wasn't or was ...weird.]

For M!Loki
I don't know if it's really safer with everyone crossing over willy nilly. Besides there are some things I want to investigate over here while I have the chance.]

You are as stubborn as ever. You are aware, if you do anything to jeopardise her Majesty, I will have to stop you. Beyond that, I insist on accompanying you for your protection. There are many dangers here you are still not accustomed to, even without the Jabberwocky's presence.
no subject
I know. I don't plan on doing anything that would hurt your Queen. I just want to see what this core is all about. If there is a way to fix it. Is it really true that the Jabberwocky is inside there now?
no subject
The Core is dangerous and unpredictable. Perhaps it is best if you avoid it?
It is... yes. The Core took the Jabberwocky along with your Queen. It's possible that is the source of its present turmoil. A beast like that... I cannot imagine it would be healthy on anything.

For Real!Loki
Loki is staring at one of the rips when Billy tracks him down on the fifth floor.
"You've been avoiding me." He just gets right to the point.
no subject
"I've been occupied." A blatant lie.

Thor's lips turn up at the corners, despite his last experience with the mirror realm. They were brothers and friends for so much longer than enemies, but he thinks he may never again grow accustomed to having Loki's trust. Which is as it should be: better to appreciate it.
"Always," he says, perhaps a bit softer than intended, but he covers for that by turning away to make a show of belting Mjolnir at his hip.
And then he pauses, because... the last time he charged into the mirror realm, it was all very urgent. He did not prepare for it, and wound up regretting that. A knapsack with standard camping supplies is an easy addition from the mirror, and then he says, "Shall I meet you in your room, or...?" to the illusion.

"My room will suffice. There is a crack nearby."
no subject
Hey, it's not so very different from what he might have brought on an adventure back when they were children... just -- faster to pack that way.
He hurries to the window, and flings himself from it; he'll be with you momentarily, Loki, so be ready to leave.
no subject
"Brother, your showy exits and entrances will have you banned from my domain should you break anything!" He gripes at the window whether Thor was there to hear it or not. Dammit, he doesn't care if the Mansion can repair itself. He waits by the door for Thor to show up.

MirrorTeddy for Loki on Real side
As he gazed at himself in the mirror he noticed someone watching him. To his surprise, it was Loki. He smirked, remembering all of the things he'd watched while on the other side of the mirror. If there was one thing he had to admit, the man-god-creature had a wonderful way of putting his pathetic Real in his place. Of course, Loki would find a different story when he tangled with him.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer," he said, shifting to a muscular Skrull green.
no subject
"Now, either something has gotten under your skin, or you seem to be rather misplaced, Theodore. Should you not scamper back to the bleak hole from which you crawled or do you have a purpose here?" It wasn't an obvious difference, but he did know Teddy well enough despite their mutual dislike for eachother to know the other was not a vain creature.
no subject
"Don't call me by that name," he barked at Loki, unable to break the illusion but not caring as much now that he didn't have to see his reflection. No matter what the other man did, it was only skin deep. Once Loki's concentration was broken it would shatter just as the mirror had. "Filthy Earth name given by a blood traitor. Besides, does it matter why I'm here? From what I've seen I doubt you give two shits if my other half has gone missing."
no subject
"I may not care for the well being of your Real but should something happen to him, others here may be upset. And I would be loathe to hear them wail for his loss." Besides, right now, he sort of prefers the quieter menace than this noisy one. "Now why don't you do us both a favour and quit playing coy."

Mirror Loki
Her eyes lingered on her traitor's mark, well aware of how thin the ice was under her feet. She had to let them make their own decisions and follow the Queen, otherwise she'd be destroyed. Even if this didn't suit her in the slightest.
When she sees him come to this side, she feels her breath hitch. They hadn't spoken since the Jabberwocky attack, but she'd missed him. There were still things unsaid between them. Things she wanted to say, especially with time so short.]
Loki!

His features light up when he confirms it's his Lilith. He makes his way around the tears to her side reaching out for her hand if she didn't pull it away.]
You have been scarce, my dear.
no subject
I have been, mostly to avoid the wrath of the Queen. [She shows him her traitor's mark.] She didn't take kindly to me feeling our realm to help the others.
And you? You weren't hurt?
no subject
[He gives her hand a gentle squeeze and smiles warmly but the traitor mark makes him wince. He gently hovers his free hand over it, not touching, but wishing he could alleviate the pain.]
Oh, my angel. What has she done? Could I bear the mark in your stead, I would do so in a heartbeat.
