Summary: Event log! Angel investigates things on the other side of the glass, while Lily tries to defend against some of the nastier Mirrors on the Real Side. Other characters may have closed, pre-arranged threads on this log, as well.
The Story:
Angel
[When it's clear that the Mirrors have started using the rifts to come over to the Real Side intentionally, Angel doesn't waste time. Late on the morning of July 18th, he'll be in the Angel Investigations office on the fourth floor, arming himself for battle-- not that he can carry much if he's planning to travel, but there are Mirrors of all kinds on the other side of the glass. Vampires, some who appear to be demons-- his own is a piece of work, and enough to give him pause about crossing over to begin with, but he intends to keep the trip short. If his own Mirror does try to start trouble, he trusts Cordelia to do the right thing.
He might have also set a few traps, just in case. It's not like it's a secret who his Mirror would be gunning for, after all.
From the afternoon of the 18th through the 21st, Angel will be spending a great deal of time on the Mirror Side, with routine trips back to the Real Side to try and assess the current Mirror situation. Even though he knows he won't be encountering his own anytime soon, he finds it strange that he can't find any trace of him anywhere in the mansion, no signs of his handiwork. He'll also be making a trip to check on the Core on the 18th, as well as a second one on the 20th to see if there's been any change. Things clearly aren't working the way they should be, after all. Others who are interested in the Core or snooping around Mirror Side are free to run into him anywhere in the Mirror Mansion, and he'll also be available to cross paths with anyone trying to deal with stolen belongings or other Mirror-concerns during his trips back to the Real Side.]
Lily
[Lily has chosen to stay on the Real Side during this event, concerned about the Core but knowing that enough people have crossed over to investigate that someone should stay behind and perhaps try to help mitigate the thieving Mirror situation. From the 18th onward, she can be find moving throughout the mansion offering protective charms to anyone who might want them, taking care to ward the room she shares with James as well as Sirius' down the hallway without hesitation. In addition, she'll be on-call for the clinic should anyone have an injury that needs tending and there aren't enough hands to go around. As for items of sentimental value, she doesn't have much to take, being a practical sort-- but she'll be defending her engagement and wedding ring fiercely if anyone tries to take them.]
7/18 | Closed to Simon Lauchlan
[Jo decides it's appropriate to simply announce this as she walks into the little apartment she shares with Simon, letting the door close and latch behind her with what might be a little more force than is strictly necessary. Considering how things went the last time heading over to the Mirror Side was an option, she knows there's a very strong possibility of an argument, but maybe acting like it's not open for discussion will head that off at the pass.
Right.
Regardless of whether or not he objects, she crouches down to open the locked cupboard she keeps most of her hunting gear in, preparing to arm herself.]
You can come with me, if you want. I won't try to stop you this time, but I'm going. There's no Jabberwocky, as far as we know, but too much of what's going on is dependent on the Core that I can't just stay here and hope it fixes itself.
no subject
Are you sure that's smart? Do we have any idea how to fix the Core?
no subject
No, we don't, but opportunities to see what's actually happening with it are pretty damn few and far between. We can't let this one pass by, not when things have been going sideways for months now.
[They'll wing it, or something.]
Can't figure out how to fix it unless we know what's going on.
no subject
Alright. [ He answers that hesitantly for a moment as he tucks his hands in his pockets and gives a nod, going along with whatever she's determined to do. ] How do we get there? I know some of the Mirror's are crossing over, but that's usually up to them to instigate, not us.

7/19 | Closed to Cami O'Connell
Taking something from the Real Jo would be immensely satisfying, and she knows there has to be something in that stupid bar of hers that she'd just hate to lose. Naturally, when she gets there, there's a pretty blonde woman holding the fort-- Jo recognizes her from watching through the glass. Cami? Another bleeding heart, just like her Real. No wonder they get along so swimmingly.
The anti-demon wards on the bar have never been fool-proof, worn down by foot traffic or people sympathetic to the mansion's humanity-challenged residents, which makes getting in easy enough. She strolls up to the bar, folding her arms as she leans against it, giving Cami an easy smile as she does so.]
Good that someone's taking care of business here-- that's what I call dedication. Lots of people wanting to drink away any nasty encounters with Mirrors, I'm guessing.
[As though she isn't one herself. She's always had an easy time passing for her Real, at least for a few minutes at a time-- it usually takes the other party a bit to catch on. Depends on how careful she feels like being.]
i am so so late
What about you? Run into any Mirrors I should be looking out for? [Not knowing anything’s off yet, Cami reaches for a beer. She holds it up, silently asking if Jo wants that or maybe something else. She’s on the customer’s side of the bar, after all, and honestly Cami doesn’t expect to see Jo working while all this mess is going on anyway. The woman is not only far too proactive, she’s got the talent to maybe find out something useful in all of this mess.]
<3
[She gives an appreciative nod towards the beer Cami offers, reaching out to accept it and crack it open a moment later. She's always preferred the sealed stuff-- much less chance of some smart-assed bartender slipping holy water in it if they were wise to demons.]
Looks like there's a lot of thieving going on, but nothing violent-- at least not at the moment. You might want to watch your wallet, so to speak.
[The Mirrors are after much more personal items, after all.]
Seen anything suspicious yourself?
Re: <3
A couple of people have been talking about missing things—although with all the people switching sides, I guess it’s going to be impossible to know for sure just how much is gone until everyone gets back. [There’s no way to do inventory otherwise, and Cami is silently thankful that it seems her mirror isn’t as much of a klepto as others are.]
Is that normal though? For the mirrors to start stealing things? [It seems like something that would warrant mention if it were, and Cami’s got a number of items she worries about them finding.] Because if it’s not, they’ve got to have a reason for it. Maybe if we can figure out why, we can figure out why all of this torn-reality mess is happening, or even how to fix it.
[It’s an unlikely goal, but one still worth hoping for. It’s certainly better than the alternative, even if Cami herself has been lucky thus far.]
Not just yet, although I should probably check my office. [Working bar is good for hearing rumors, but people have told Cami private and personal things during their sessions. She doesn’t want those files to turn up missing like so many other things have; bad enough she already got a scare in that regard at the start of all of this.]

7/20 | Closed to Evelyn O'Connell
Until he gets a little too close to a particularly large and obstructive rift and finds himself on the other side of the glass.
Logically, he knows he could just hop through and go back. There's enough evidence of people passing through the rifts unharmed that he knows doing so would be easy enough; he could finish his sweep of the upper floors and find his way back to Brennan within the hour, but resisting the pull of his own curiosity? That's another matter entirely, especially considering he's so new to Wonderland. The idea of an alternate version of the mansion is too good for him to simply turn his back without exploring.
Just a little. He'll be back before dinner, surely.
Naturally, he gravitates towards where the library would normally be-- it's near enough to where he started, anyway-- slowing to a stop outside the doors as a realization comes over him.]
It's all backwards. I suppose that makes sense, given it's meant to be a reflection, but still.
[Fascinating, just like everything else in Wonderland has been so far-- if frustrating, as well.]
no subject
[Evelyn, who has spent a great deal of time on this side of the Mirror since the event began - unable to satiate her own curiosity regarding the portals and where they may or may not lead - had been of a similar mind to investigate the library.
Given what is available in her work area on the Real Side, she thought it might be prudent to investigate to sort of things that could be present here, whether or not there is backwards research kept in a backwards file on the east wing instead of the west. It was in that sojourn that she realised she wasn't the only one intent to explore.
Wearing the sort of attire she would don for a dig at Thebes Evelyn might paint the picture of friendly were it not for the sidearm in thigh-holster.]
You must be new here.
no subject
[It's not so different that he can't find his way around, having already taken the time to familiarize himself with the mansion proper, but just different enough to many one feel uneasy, out of place. He supposes that must be the idea, at least in part.]
I wonder what else is different on this side. [He breaks from musing to himself, giving her a quick once-over, an appraisal-- he might feel more threatened by the sidearm if he knew what it was, but instead he aims for friendly, ever-cautious underneath. Most people here have been plenty helpful so far, but he knows there's only so long that can last.] I'm afraid so. Arrived only days before the rifts began opening all over the place. Just-- boom! Not the warmest welcome I've ever received.

7/20 | Closed to Brennan Trevelyan
It works well enough, until he finds himself forced over. He tries to make his way back, but after trying four separate rifts, he finds himself no closer to reaching the Mirror Side than he'd been when he started. Frustrated, he refuses to let it discourage him, but instead takes the opportunity to compose himself and begin to explore this version of the mansion, instead-- after all, visits to this side of the glass are meant to be rare.
That particular venture is uneventful-- until he comes across his Real's companion. He falls back almost immediately, just half a step as he reaches for his staff, prepared to take action before his magic can be cut off.]
Templar.
[And not one of Tevinter's, either. More than a soldier, but a bane to all mages.]
no subject
The sudden hissed word and jump to a defensive stance had Brennan starting with surprise, hand automatically falling to the hilt of his sword as he spun to face the other direction, half expecting a hulking red behemoth to come lumbering up behind him, or a shadow appearing out of nowhere with daggers already descending.
The hallway was empty. Brennan hesitated, visibly bewildered. ]
What? Where?
no subject
Yes, very clever.
[As though playing pretend would be enough to cause him to drop his guard.]
You think I don't know you on sight?
[He's very aware that this is the Real as opposed to the version from his side of the glass, but as far as he's concerned, they may as well be one in the same.]

He isn't paying attention as he gestures back behind him, walking in like he owns the place--well, he does sort of work here when he feels like it, anyway. Not the point.]
Where's the book worm when you need 'im? Those bloody portals are out to get me! Threw me right out into the middle of the newly reversed hills in broad daylight, they did! Bloody dangerous! You won't catch me going back--
[And about at this point he notices Angel's gearing up for a fight. He rolls his shoulders and pops his neck to one side.]
Right. As I was saying, we should absolutely go poking around on the other side. Teach those thieving, yellow, nancys a thing or two. I don't really need back-up, but I guess you can come along.
[The most serious face.]
<333 apologies! it's been one of those weeks
[Angel comments without looking up, lips pressed together into a tight line as he turns a hand-axe over, examining it from every angle before setting it aside as a possibility. If he runs into trouble on the other side, which he sure as hell expects to, he wants to be prepared. A ranting Spike isn't quite enough to distract him-- he's had a lot of time to get used to it, but he glances over as he pauses in rummaging through the cabinet, eyebrow raised.]
I don't play back-up. You sure you're up for it? Could get dropped any number of places before we land where we're actually trying to go.
[Actually, he'd really like to see that.]
... we should dress for the weather.
[Because sunlight.]
Lily | July 22nd
And he intends to.
So he dons clothes more his real's style than his own. And he happens by the clinic while Lily's on duty. He hops right up on a bed and swings his feet, doing his best impression of a slobby slouch.]
Not too busy, are you? Can't imagine the mirrors are terribly interested in fighting right now, anyway. Unless of course that's just their idea of a good time.
no subject
No, we've not had many accidents this time around-- at least not yet.
[She doesn't want to jinx them, but she knows there are always Mirrors who are looking to strike against their Reals.]
It does seem to be the case, for some of them.
no subject
Still. At least they're only taking things. Not any real danger, there.
[Step one: get her worried about losing something precious.]

7/20 Closed to the poor idiot 'Vint stuck on the wrong side of the Mirror
He knows how the Game is played, and he happens to be excellent at it. Until it's time to pitch all of it out the window and get to business, of course, which he much prefers, but he has the patience to bide his time until then. And the task his new monarch has given him will occupy him in the meantime, although he has no desire to venture over to the other side of the Mirrors - he's seen glimpses through the glass and there's just as many demons and mages running free there as well. Instead, he goes in search of some of the Reals who have been transferred over here instead. Believing himself to have the advantage, it should be easy enough to come across some hapless misplaced Real that he can deprive of something sentimental. He's seen for himself that there is no Order here when there desperately needs to be, so he assumes most of them won't know what they are dealing with when coming across a Templar. And if it's a mage or a demon? Even better.
Perhaps it's luck - or Andraste's sacred favor - that has him coming across a familiar figure first. The Venatori viper who'd tried to weasel his way into Trevelyan's forces at Redcliffe before his kind had swept in from the mountains to destroy Haven at Corypheus' command. Trevelyan had deeply regretted not killing him the first time he laid eyes on him but now... ah well, now he could make up for his lack, couldn't he? ]
You.
SIGH
Yes, me.
[He knows, he knows.]
I haven't been gone that long. Apologies, I didn't mean to end up here, but I thought as long as I'd managed it, I might as well have a look around-- have you found anything interesting?
no subject
He disregards the apology and the excuse, holding no interest in them. Instead his gaze narrows as he lifts his free hand - the left, his off-hand (if barely), the one that bears the Anchor. But it is no Rift he seeks to cast; instead it is a flare of strange light as he calls upon the lyrium humming in his veins, eyes glowing faintly with the casting.
The Silence immediately settles around the Tevinter mage with no warning and my, but the magister is slacking, having made no effort at all to protect himself from its effects. This will be far easier than he imagined. ]

18th | Angel
Until then, he's mostly interested in exploring. And, of course, making trouble for his Real. Which means he's going to go into the Angel Investigations office and see what he can. He runs his finger over the counter, sneering slightly. He hasn't made any effort to pass for his real. Everything from his nice clothes to his neatly combed back hair that reveals the birthmark on his forehead make it clear that this is not the Dipper that works here.]
Has anyone informed you your office looks like a hotel?
no subject
[Angel's still looking through the weapon's cabinet when he answers without looking up, turning only after he's closed and latched the doors.]
Did you need someth--
[He cuts himself off when he finally lays eyes on what he'd thought had been Dipper-- but now that he actually sees him, it's obvious who he's really talking to.]
Should have figured you'd turn up. Knew Dipper wouldn't stick to this side of the glass.
[Not that he blames him.]
