[OPEN] Don't know why I go walking at night;

Who: Angel, Lily Potter & you!
Where: Various!
When: 7/18 - 7/22
Rating: PG
Summary: Event log! Angel investigates things on the other side of the glass, while Lily tries to defend against some of the nastier Mirrors on the Real Side. Other characters may have closed, pre-arranged threads on this log, as well.
The Story:
Angel
[When it's clear that the Mirrors have started using the rifts to come over to the Real Side intentionally, Angel doesn't waste time. Late on the morning of July 18th, he'll be in the Angel Investigations office on the fourth floor, arming himself for battle-- not that he can carry much if he's planning to travel, but there are Mirrors of all kinds on the other side of the glass. Vampires, some who appear to be demons-- his own is a piece of work, and enough to give him pause about crossing over to begin with, but he intends to keep the trip short. If his own Mirror does try to start trouble, he trusts Cordelia to do the right thing.

He might have also set a few traps, just in case. It's not like it's a secret who his Mirror would be gunning for, after all.

From the afternoon of the 18th through the 21st, Angel will be spending a great deal of time on the Mirror Side, with routine trips back to the Real Side to try and assess the current Mirror situation. Even though he knows he won't be encountering his own anytime soon, he finds it strange that he can't find any trace of him anywhere in the mansion, no signs of his handiwork. He'll also be making a trip to check on the Core on the 18th, as well as a second one on the 20th to see if there's been any change. Things clearly aren't working the way they should be, after all. Others who are interested in the Core or snooping around Mirror Side are free to run into him anywhere in the Mirror Mansion, and he'll also be available to cross paths with anyone trying to deal with stolen belongings or other Mirror-concerns during his trips back to the Real Side.]

Lily
[Lily has chosen to stay on the Real Side during this event, concerned about the Core but knowing that enough people have crossed over to investigate that someone should stay behind and perhaps try to help mitigate the thieving Mirror situation. From the 18th onward, she can be find moving throughout the mansion offering protective charms to anyone who might want them, taking care to ward the room she shares with James as well as Sirius' down the hallway without hesitation. In addition, she'll be on-call for the clinic should anyone have an injury that needs tending and there aren't enough hands to go around. As for items of sentimental value, she doesn't have much to take, being a practical sort-- but she'll be defending her engagement and wedding ring fiercely if anyone tries to take them.]

Yes, I thought as much. Remind me to trouble you with more questions later, should the opportunity arise.

[Assuming they both survive whatever happens on this side-- not that he doubts them. Of course not.]

You should see plenty of me; as far as I'm concerned, the library is the best thing about this place. I'll save any further inquiries for another time, but regarding this side of the glass-- I take it the residents aren't particularly fond of visitors?
nascensibility: it's not like we don't have flashlights (know any recipes for disaster?)

I would be more than happy to answer any queries you might have,

[she notes amusedly, for once oddly confident that they'll all get through this in one piece.]

Mirrors are...difficult. Sometimes they can be the exact opposite of the person on which they were based, other times the differences are much more subtle and difficult to determine. A few of them are malevolent and exceptionally good actors, which isn't the best of news, I'm aware. Being careful goes without saying.

Good actors. Of course. It isn't enough for them to simply be malicious, but naturally they must be able to slip past even the most watchful eyes by being accomplished thespians.

[Right, fantastic. Still, very good to know-- it means he'll be on the lookout, less willing to trust things on this side of the glass, though he's never been one to give his trust freely, regardless.]

For all either of us knows, one of us could be a well-spoken Mirror. Stunning, in either case, but still potentially troublesome.
nascensibility: let's face it, I'm pretty adorable (lots of people like me)

[Stunning, well, that...that is certainly not the sort of compliment she was expecting to hear today. Evelyn's eyebrows raise in surprise and amusement, primarily at his genial candour. It's refreshing.]

I will take that as a compliment and wish you the best of luck, Dorian, of House Pavus.

And you as well, Lady Evelyn.

[He smiles brightly before offering a bow, a quick but polite bend at the waist.]

I do hope you'll manage to stay safe during all this.
