Who: Mikan Tsumiki & You!
Where: Around the Township
When: 8/7 - 8/10
Rating: R for possibly future violence/cannibalism?
Summary: Mikan got scratched and she's infected! But she's fine. Everything's fine.THERE IS NO WAR IN BA SING SE
The Story:
Aug 7
It had been such a small scratch she didn't even realize she had it at first. But she knew the seriousness of infections, even in this bizarre turn of events, and so she'd taken great precautions in cleaning, disinfecting, and treating the scratch. There was no virus a Super High School Level Nurse couldn't defeat!
So with that little matter taken care of, she'll be going to everyone she can find, asking how she can help. No matter what you're doing or who you're with, she'll be gently asking. "Excuse me...?"
Aug 8
Why was the scratch getting worse? She'd cleaned it over, and over, and over, and over again. But she felt fine! Really! She was just getting a fever from working so hard! Maybe it's her supplies... yes, she just needs better medicinal supplies.
This day you might find her going through all the supplies - even food and weaponry - just to make sure nothing has been misplaced. She'll be so into her thorough search she won't even notice your there - until you make yourself be noticed.
Aug 9
She can't get up. She can't move. None of this is making any sense. But at least beforehand, she had surrounded herself with heavy crate boxes inside of her assigned tent. Maybe this way no one will find her, or hurt her. She just needs to wait this out, and then everything will be back to normal.
Despite her struggle to hide herself, there's a low groan coming from inside of her tent.
Aug 10
That low groan you heard yesterday? It's a smidgen louder now. There's some shuffling going inside. Care to take a peek?
She's... so... hungry...

August 10
It's why, when she notices those sounds coming from inside a tent, within the Township, she pauses, tilting her head to the side. Without going into the tent, she steps closer, pressing her ear to the fabric.
"You are changed, мила. For this I am sorry." Helena's knife is in hand and it seems she will have to kill one more.
[ooc: Ukrainian for: 'my dear.']

There's a sudden noise - several wooden creates colliding and collapsing onto the floor. There are footsteps without shoes, and the figure inside begins to run for whoever is outside. There is a split-second between the flap opening and Helena being in immediate danger -
This "changed" is just a teenager, a disheveled young girl. But a "changed" all the same.

"Do you know anything?"
She has to ask, wondering if it has any thought at all, even while holding onto her knife.

The only thing remaining of Mikan's past is her wet face - fresh tears from before her death were still on her cheek.

When it's done, she reaches to stroke the girl's cheek, whispering soft words in Ukrainian before kissing her forehead tenderly and covering her with a sheet. And then she goes, blood spatter on her clothes - but it mixes with everything else.
August 8 - Sorry I'm late!
He's genuinely concerned, though, when he comes across Tsumiki rummaging around through the weapons of all things, looking decidedly unwell.
"Ah...are you alright?"
no worries!
She yelps, suddenly startled. She grabs her arm, hand over the scratch, backing up and tripping over the various supplies.

"A-are you okay?! I didn't mean to startle you."

In a sudden defensive gesture, she held out both of her hands to make sure he stayed far enough away - unfortunately, that allowed him to see the obvious infection on her arm.

"That doesn't look fine. What happened?"
He doesn't want to assume the worst case scenario--maybe it's just tetanus or something. That would be better, right?

"I am Mikan Tsumiki, Super High School Level Nurse." She says, her voice slightly shaky. "There is nothing I can't cure. It's going to go away. I treated it properly."
no subject
Yeah, ominous is a good word for the vibe he's getting from her.
"...Even if you treated it properly, it might not be cured."

He raises both hands placatingly, but doesn't try to touch her.
"Look...it's going to be okay. They might be able to treat it, right? We've got some pretty well-trained people."
Granted, she just said she should be able to treat anything, but maybe zombie-virus-treatments just aren't a thing in her world and they are in someone else's.

"B-but what happens if no one knows and...you start to..."

"...If I don't tell anyone, will you promise to come to me if things start to change?"
no subject
"Y-Yeeeees! I promise! I absolutely promise!"

He puts a hand on her shoulder.
"With any luck, the event will be over before things get to that point."

If that means having to kill her or out her...well, he'll figure out what to do when that time comes.
