Krampusjail Pajama Party | OPEN

Who: All of the Prisoners of the Krampus.
Where: Some unground dungeon that definitely wasn't here before all this started.
When: All event
Rating: PG - R, depending on exactly how naughty your characters have been.
Summary: Catch-all log for Krampusjail shenanigans throughout the event! So you were a bad person and got yourself tossed into Krampusjail in the middle of the night - now what?
The Story:

If your character is someone who could be considered “naughty” or “a terrible human being” for whatever reason then they may be visited by the Krampus this Ewaymas. For the first day they will hear chains rattling intermittently throughout the day, and only they (and others the Krampus has targeted) will be able to hear these chains. Then, that night, when they're trying to sleep, the Krampus will come for them in the middle of the night. He will then proceed to smack them around with birch branches and shove them into a woven basket and carry them away. The naughty character in question will find themselves thrown into a dark dungeon (in a place that looks suspiciously like the caves and tunnels of Wonderland, but far enough down that no one can hear them). There are multiple cells though, so they may have some company in Krampusjail. The Krampus will occasionally come by like a horrible jailer to hit them with his birch switch and get them to admit their wrongdoings and atone for them, but otherwise they will be left alone to think about what they've done. For food, they will have water brought to them and small baskets of adorably horrifying bread in the Krampus' likeness. If a character starts to show that they really regret their behavior and that they're really sorry, whether the Krampus is there or not, the door will swing open and they will be released early. If they lie about how sorry they are or they refuse to apologize, they will have to serve their full sentence – which will be three to five days, depending on exactly how naughty they've been.

Since the maximum sentence is five days, put the dates your character will be in Krampusjail in the subject of your top level, so others will know whether their characters will be jailed at the same time or not! If you have questions, please direct them to The Event's FAQ thread. Prose or [Brackets] are more than welcome!

Guess you've got me there. Kind of. For the record, I don't think I belong here, but I can see why that Krampus-or-whatever guy would think I do.

[ She folds her arms over her chest--she's insistent that she doesn't belong down here, okay. But she's been in prison and junk enough times that she's used to being here when she doesn't think she belongs. ]

But you said fighting aliens and stuff? Now that sounds interesting. But not necessarily Christmas jail worthy. Were they aliens that deserved it, or not? That probably makes the difference.

[ His shoulders relax just a little, and he brings his hands up to hold the bars like anyone in any jail movie does for some reason. ]

Y-yeah, that's where it gets complicated. Sometimes fighting is more like, i-it's more like a fight to the death? Like, you land somewhere and you think it's all okay, but, it turns out that someone wants to destroy carbon-based life forms. O-o-or you get there just in time for a huge-- lawless night, and everyone's all killing each other, and you're between a rock and a, a hard place. The universe can be pretty messed up.

When I think about it, you know, th-there's probably a lot of stuff I did that I haven't even realized yet. Which- jeez. I dunno how to be sorry for something I don't realize I did. It would be easier with a list. O-or a slideshow.

Maybe ask that Krampus guy for a list when he comes back.

[ Selina smirks; it's a joke, of course, because that's the way she is. However, she does go back into focused mode on the rest of what he said. Because the rest of what he said? Is weird as hell.

Eyeing Morty for a moment, she tries to picture him in a fight to the death. Or a lawless night. And she has a hard time of it. He seems like some normal kid who does normal kid stuff and yet he's spewing these stories like she's supposed to understand what he's talking about, like it happens to everyone. ]

Sounds like you've been through some weird stuff, kid. But hey, I say that if it needed to be done, there's no reason to be sorry over it. [ Shrug. ] I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Heh. Y-you'd think if he really cared about everyone feeling guilty, he'd let them know what they did anyway. Some- some warden, huh? [ He likes the cut of her jib in general. It's a lot like the kind of things Rick might usually say, only... not being said in a way that makes him feel even worse about his life choices. Morty may not necessarily feel less nervous- he almost never does- but he's always down for feeling less awful in general. ]

Uh. You can call me Morty. M-Morty Smith.

Right? [ She snorts a laugh in agreement. ] He's pretty damn bad at his job.

[ It's easy to see the kid's uncomfortable, and honestly? Selina's trying to lessen that in her own way. Maybe not the best way ever, and she'll never admit to it, but she can sympathize if he's freaked out down here. She's not, but she's been in situations similar that freaked her out--like her first stint in jail. ]

Selina Kyle. But most people call me Cat. Nice to meet ya, Morty. It'll be good to have a jail-buddy to talk to.

[ It's an effort he appreciates. When it comes to situations like this, he's used to a rock and a hard place kind of approach. There'll be Rick not taking things seriously, and everyone else, wrapped up in their own things. Which is understandable, especially considering how kidnap-y this particular adventure is.

Still, it's nice, and he nods in agreement. ]

I think so, too. S-so Cat's a cool nickname. It doesn't sound a lot like your real name, though. How'd you-- how'd you get that?
littlestreetcat: (content)

[personal profile] littlestreetcat 2016-01-07 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, it didn't come from my real name.

[ She waves that off and shrugs. How do any nicknames come around? Generally based on your personality or the way you act, which...yeah, is pretty true to hers. She has that tendency to be very catlike in a lot of ways--including being aloof but occasionally showing affection when it's most needed. ]

Guess you could say I got it 'cause I'm agile like a cat. Which, naturally, I use to my advantage.

[ She smirks, stuffing her hands in her pockets. She could go off on a lot more reasons than that, but the kid doesn't need to hear everything about her. ]

So people at home started calling me Cat, and that's what I tend to go by with most of the people I know. Most of 'em don't even know my real name.

Thanks for telling it to me. Morty's just short for Mortimer o-or I'd try to return the favor, you know? [ Not that he's ever particularly minded going with the short form. ]

Using being agile to your advantage sounds like-- I don't blame you for doing that. I mean, it sounds like the thing almost anyone would wanna do. My grandpa probably wishes he was more catlike all the time.

Don't worry about it, kid. [ Yeah, they're probably about the same age, but she's still going to call him a kid. Sue her. ]

Oh yeah? I'd bet any grandpa would wish for that. Who's yours? Is he here, or back home? [ She's only met one old man so far, so she's guessing that might be him, but who knows? ]
onetruemorty: (okay okay i'm no nyssa)

[personal profile] onetruemorty 2016-01-20 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ One could say he's not used to that kind of thing, but he is. ]

No, he's here. I forget which one of the cells he was in, but I guess that's okay. H-he's probably busy trying to come up with escape plans. [ If radio silence maintains for so long that it's concerning, he'll handle it then. Last he checked, Rick was trying to grow very specific mold subspecies to eat while he's stuck or something. ]

I just call him Rick, though. It makes things less weird.
