I'm afraid I can't explain myself | Open
Who: Isabela and YOU
Where: The mansion, the gardens, the beach, EVERYWHERE
When: March 2-March 6 (duration of the event)
Rating: PG-13? Probably
Summary: Winter is finally gone and someone is actually leaving the bar to explore the grounds without freezing to death in skimpy clothing.
The Story:
The stars falling from the sky had been...disconcerting. Isabela had studiously avoided them by sticking to the bar and ignoring the sound of the odd window breaking. Nothing worse than she had heard while drinking at the Hanged Man after all.
The thing that had really catches her attention is the change in the weather. It would have been strange if she hadn't seen it happen when Winter rolled in, but the snow disappearing and everything turning green was a pleasant surprise. It was the one thing that had her finally leaving the bar and venturing out onto the grounds, dagger strapped to her back because you just never know.
For the next few days she explores, tries to get the lay of the land now that it's now covered in snow and freezing outside. She wanders through the gardens which...are growing really rapidly. She wonders if that's a normal Wonderland thing. She wanders down to the beach and sits in the sand, enjoying the smell of salt water and the sea breeze on her face. No where is really off limits.
She notices the flowers and insects and the effects they seem to be having on people and she does her best to avoid them, she doesn't want to shrink or grow or...was someone turning into a plant? She's definitely avoiding the flowers. The fawn she stumbles across is cute though, and she tries her best to coax it out of hiding...
[OOC: At some point she's going to run into the Fawn and lose her memories. If you want to encounter her after that just let me know. Other than that feel free to run into her anywhere]

Post memory-loss?
...He's been standing there debating too long, hasn't he? There's no way she couldn't have seen him watching her now. With a sigh he wanders over, smiling cautiously. "I don't think I saw you out here before when it was snowy. You missed out."
Re: Post memory-loss?
"Well snow is cold, isn't it? But now the gardens look beautiful. Who wouldn't want to sit in their splendor?" She smiles bright at him, something that looks odd when it lacks the usual playful teasing.

Alistair's own smile becomes a little more relaxed and genuine as he looks around the gardens again before turning back to Isabela. "I didn't pick you for the sitting outside enjoying the garden type no matter how nice it is. Next thing you're going to tell me you grow flowers too."

And then she's talking about flowers and now this is just getting confusing. More confusing. What sort of a question is that even? "You don't remember if you've ever tried growing flowers. Or that people can." No, repeating what she said doesn't make it any less confusing. "Is this a joke and I just don't get it yet? If you're going to laugh at my expense the least you could do is explain why. I think that's only fair." He can deal with being teased but he prefers to know what the punchline is. Besides him.

Alright, now he's confused. Leaning a little closer, Alistair peers at Isabela, trying to see if there's some hint in her face as to what she trying to pull. She doesn't look like she's laughing at him and while she might be good at hiding that sort of thing it's a strange kind of joke. If that's what it is.
"You recognised me when I first got here Isabela. What's going on?"

Sitting back he grins at her hopefully. "Alright, you got me. I almost believed you. Not bad." This is the point where she's supposed to laugh and make some dig about how easy he is to fool. And then everything goes back to (relatively) normal. Right?

"You can't really- Isabela. It's me, Alistair, remember? We met in Denerim? You were in the Pearl. I saw you beat off three men all by yourself." Which might be any normal day for her but she had definitely known him before. "I was there with Zevran? The assassin? You said he killed your husband?"
Maybe not the best thing to bring up if she was serious about the whole not knowing him business. But surely that sort of thing would be impossible to forget?

"I don't know why he was killed, you'd have to tell me that." Maybe if he keeps talking quickly enough he can distract her from her dead husband. "He didn't live here because you haven't lived here forever. You're from-" Not Ferelden. Or Kirkwall. He's not sure where she was born. "A place called Thedas. That's where we met. In a brothel." Maybe that will distract her from the dead husband. It's worth a shot.
