OPEN | well, i don't know where they come from but they sure do come
Who: Everyone and some adorable, rolly polly, purring kittens.
Where: Ballroom.
When: April 4th.
Rating: PG? It's kittens, how bad can it get.
Summary: As advertised, Anders wished for some kittens, now there are kittens, please adopt a kitten, kittens everywhere.
The Story:
[In the ballroom with plenty of space for them to romp around, Anders and Alistair set the kittens loose.
When he'd been thinking about them, Anders had had a particular image in his mind: a bunch of kittens sitting in a padded wicker basket like something out of a graphic illustration or inspired by a toilet paper brand. Who wouldn't find that adorable? That's exactly what he'd gotten, and exactly what they load the kittens up in to move them downstairs. Once the basket is deposited in the center of the room, some stay napping in its cushioned confines, others tumble out to explore.
Anders takes the time to bring up food, water, and litter. After some internal debating, he scatters some cat toys around the room, too. Welcome to Wonderland's one and only kitty daycare, for a limited time only!]
(OOC: Don't worry about threading with Anders or Alistair if you want to join in just for kittens. Consider this a mingle log where you can make your own posts, tag around, etc.)

[Live and learn.]
I tried... [From the way he trails off, it clearly hadn't been a successful attempt.] But by the time I counted a handful of them, they'd be underfoot again and I lost track of which ones I'd already counted. I think we're starting to get a feel for one another, though. Take that one, for instance--
[He points to a pudgy black and white cat taking a turn at a water dish.]
He's a bit top heavy. I can tell which one he is because of his habit of falling on his face when he runs. Poor thing. He tries his best.

[ She leans down to scoop one up that rubs by her ankles, smoothing soft kitten fur. ]
The poor baby...will you keep that one, then? [ because that's kind of sweet. ]

[And the cats are set to get plenty of that, running amok like this. Anders looks around them at the various breeds investigating the toys and equipment scattered around the ballroom.]
I suppose in a sense I'll have to keep all of them. Unless there are a few people who'd like to take one home.
[Does that sound like an invitation? It definitely sounds like an invitation.]

I'm sure you won't have a problem finding several someones.

[He strokes the downy soft head of a kitten of a striped kitten until it starts to purr. Anders doesn't get how anybody wouldn't want a cat to keep them company--but that may be bias talking, after a cat was all he'd had to keep him company at a severely low point.]
But for those here with a fear of commitment, even just volunteering time to show them some TLC would be a great help. They get to hold a cute, furry animal, and the kittens are pacified--everybody wins.

[ Adaline is usually more inclined to dogs - almost always moreso, in fact. But she's never had a cat, and she's not particularly against them and when she picks up the little seal point ragdoll she immediately sees the appeal. ]
...They're really quite precious.

[They're working their devious seduction powers on you right now, Adaline. Just look at that little face trying to convert you...]

I don't know that I really know how to take care of a cat...I'll need some tips. [ dammit. she's been suckered. ]

[He's not about to force anyone to take a cat on if they're not sure they can handle it. But he won't say no if she wants to give it a shot, either.]
A friend gave me one as a gift once. I didn't know what to do with it at the time, but it wasn't too hard to figure out--the cat teaches you more than you teach it, I think. I'm more than happy to dispense cat care advice, though!

[ she'll also troll the library for some books. ]
...It's so cute.

[She's perfectly welcome to take that as a compliment toward her looks, but she's also willing to spend her time with a cat, and that earns plenty of points in Anders' book.]
What would you like to know? Aside from how to tear yourself away when they make that face at you.
[He's still trying to figure that one out himself. No luck so far.]
