OPEN | well, i don't know where they come from but they sure do come
Who: Everyone and some adorable, rolly polly, purring kittens.
Where: Ballroom.
When: April 4th.
Rating: PG? It's kittens, how bad can it get.
Summary: As advertised, Anders wished for some kittens, now there are kittens, please adopt a kitten, kittens everywhere.
The Story:
[In the ballroom with plenty of space for them to romp around, Anders and Alistair set the kittens loose.
When he'd been thinking about them, Anders had had a particular image in his mind: a bunch of kittens sitting in a padded wicker basket like something out of a graphic illustration or inspired by a toilet paper brand. Who wouldn't find that adorable? That's exactly what he'd gotten, and exactly what they load the kittens up in to move them downstairs. Once the basket is deposited in the center of the room, some stay napping in its cushioned confines, others tumble out to explore.
Anders takes the time to bring up food, water, and litter. After some internal debating, he scatters some cat toys around the room, too. Welcome to Wonderland's one and only kitty daycare, for a limited time only!]
(OOC: Don't worry about threading with Anders or Alistair if you want to join in just for kittens. Consider this a mingle log where you can make your own posts, tag around, etc.)

What did you ask for to get a mob of kittens?
[ ...omg did he ask for a mob of kittens tho ]
no subject
[He looks between them, looking as innocent as one possibly can after just owning up to a mess of their own making. Sorry, girls, if you're looking for an interesting story, he has to disappoint you.]
I was thinking about... a shirt? And breakfast. Not necessarily in that order. There might have been a brief moment of daydreaming in there.
[One thing had led to another...]
no subject
Were you daydreaming about kittens...?
[ just how attached are you to the concept of cats, anders. you now have elena officially worried. ]
no subject
I really hope they're potty-trained...

You know how it is when you first wake up--your thoughts wander to lots of places. Someone really needs to tell whoever controls this magic that it's rude to read a person's thoughts. Things like this happen.
[With a smile, he adjusts his hold on the cats tucked against him.]
Not to worry, my second wish was for kitty litter. We'll have to see how well Wonderland trains its magical constructs before it spits them out.

What do we really know about the magic closets, though? I don't know if anyone really controls the magic behind it, but can we really trust anything that comes out of it? [ not that she's saying these kitties can read their minds and will ultimately attempt a hostile takeover as their overlords, but ... ]
no subject
We know not to daydream inside one now...
no subject
But he can't help but smirk down at Elena. She also has a point, but if Anders suspected for an instant that the cats were in any way dangerous, he'd definitely be taking greater precautions against them running around like this.]
I wouldn't recommend trusting the closets with anything important, but trusting that some things are what they seem? It's a passable risk, if you ask me. If we went around boycotting everything, we'd be out of clean clothes and toiletries in a hurry.
[He gives a mock shudder at the thought of dozens of people strutting around in their underthings. As for the cats themselves?]
I, my dear lady, am a mage, and I can assure you I put them through a few tests of my own devising. As far as I can tell, they're cats. Normal felines through and through.
no subject
they keep meeting all these dragon age people. why are they so damn charming? ]
You know, that's not the first time we've heard someone refer to themselves as a mage. Exactly how many of there are you?
[ she glances back down at the kitten once anders assures them there isn't anything to worry about. regardless of whether or not he's right, the kitten's eyes are wide and hopeful as they stare at her. there's no way elena is leaving this floor without it, is there? curse you, anders. ]
no subject
And ... what kinds of tests?
no subject
[Not all mages are this charming, either; that's one thing Anders can do better than the Uldreds of the world.]
The kind of tests that prove they're not about to unhinge their jaws and swallow your hand.
[A light laugh. Back in Thedas, you never know. Demons come in all shapes and sizes.]
no subject
if anders says the kittens have been thoroughly tested, then elena supposes that will suffice. if the closets have devious intentions, they'll know soon enough, and she doubts kittens will be involved. ]
I'm taking this one.
[ elena motions to the kitten she's cradling. ] And only this one.
no subject
Sorry, count me out.
[ her head shakes, just imagining the havoc a cat would enact on her belongings. she gets to her feet, careful not to squish any of the little beasts, and stepping back. ]
no subject
[This said in response to Elena's choice to keep the little guy that had charged at her feet. The cat in question certainly doesn't seem to mind being held and cuddled. Girl and kitten do make a cute match...
Anyway, there's still the matter of having too many kittens and too few hands.]
Are you in a hurry? What do you say about helping me carry these ones back to base? You won't have to keep any.
