Movie Night!

Who: Anyone who wants to come watch Dinosaur movies
Where: The Movie Theater, Fourth Floor
When: Friday April 8th, 8pm
Rating: PG-13 for Raptors
Summary: Jurassic Park Movie Night
The Story:

As soon as people start showing up in the theater, a gentle song begins playing in the background. They will see the obvious screen on the back wall, but what's more, the seating is surrounded by prehistoric foliage. And in that foliage, stands a hand full of herbivorous dinosaurs. They seem to be grazing on the vegetation without a care in the world. If someone reaches out to touch, the holograms will destabilize as their hand passes right through them only to form back together once the disruption is gone. Even the vegetation seems to be a holographic projection along with the imitated grass floor and night sky. In the four corners of the room, set into the ceiling, are small domes that flicker ever so slightly as they cast and regulate the projections. The occasional T-Rex roar will echo in the background of the music, making the small herd of Parasaurolophus look up with a fright, then lower their heads back down.

The lights dim and the movie begins, the noise surrounding the holograms quiets as to not interrupt from the movies, only to return during the short breaks between films.

If you stray over to the refreshments table, thick brush and tall grass will conceal a deadly pair of raptors lurking. Appropriately themed snacks are set up on the table, including a few sweet treats courtesy of Darcy (including jello shots).

Occasionally, an unwary snacker will come to a fright as one or both of said hunters will pop out of the grass with a sharp, chittering cry. Lucky for the unfortunate victim, the jumpscare is all there is to worry about. The tricky little raptors will slink back down into the grass and lie in wait for their next victim. Don't spill your popcorn, its just an illusion.

You're welcome.

Natasha's... around. She shifts chairs and shares her popcorn, more interested in reactions than the movie itself — she's already seen it a few times.

'Some bad habits don't change,' she says quietly to him, after she's listening to him talk about a few scenes. 'Enjoying yourself?'

He looks over at her when she speaks, a small smile on his lips as he tosses a piece of popcorn in the air and catches it in his mouth without looking. "Can anyone actually not enjoy themselves during Jurassic Park?"

Show-off. Natasha doesn't smile. It's just the shift of her shoulders to something more relaxed, accepting familiarity.

'I don't know, I could name at least three,' she says, dryly. 'Give me some of that popcorn.'

It's amazing to him just how similar both Natashas are but also how different, and in each case he's just as at ease with both of them.

"I feel sorry for those people then," he says conversationally passing her the popcorn without pause. "I tried to punch that damn raptor Stark has jumping out at everyone over by the snacks."

Natasha takes a fistful, and pops one into her mouth. 'There might've been an attempt to wrestle it,' she says, after swallowing. It's a lie — she was walking down the hallway when it jumped out at someone else. It's not out of a desire to be disingenuous — she commiserates and in another world, Natasha did really try that.

He tries to picture her wrestling an actual raptor. He's not sure if he's impressed or worried that he actually can. "I'm not sure who I would feel worse for it that was real." He pauses. "Probably the raptor."

'Please. You'd start a betting pool.' They'd be a racket, the two of them, thick as thieves. It warms her heart to know he's still close to Natasha — she's not always open with her emotion but she's been watching how her other self treats him. It's comfortable, being able to put down those roots in another human being.

"Oh of course I would. Easy money." He grinned at her. He would bet in Natasha every time, either of them he was learning.

She whaps him lightly on the shoulder. 'I demand a cut. 30% at least.'

"Ok, ok, thirty percent." He holds up his hands and laughs a little so she won't whap him again. "We'll be the richest people in Wonderland."

Natasha pulls a light face, watching him. 'We'd better. You can buy yourself a sense of humor.'

Clint laughs again clutching his chest dramatically. "Oh. Burn. That's harsh. I'll have you know I have the best sense of humor, thank you very much. It's not my fault that my genius is unrecognized in my time."
