Summary: Semi-formal themed fête.






[Guided by brassy music down an expansive hall residents will enter the first floor ballroom: it has undergone many transformations in its time, and suffered the myriad slings and arrows of Wonderland's event-related torment, but tonight its purpose has shaped it into something glittering and streamlined, the décor as advertised not long before. While socialising does appear to be the primary function, the arrangement of amenities would suggest differently.

The gilded walls border on overly opulent and a dancefloor - ringed with refreshment tables, an open bar, and scattered seating - is pointedly centred, and the brass band for which a Vendor Ticket was exchanged explodes with forceful tunes from a handful of different eras, some of which might be recognisable to those of the twenty-first century.

The only uncertainty is how one might spend the evening.]

[Beatrice goes over to the wall and leans against it, letting out a weary sigh. She kicks her own shoes off and scowls.]

What sort of horrible person invented these shoes?

[As if Rose had been waiting all night for just one other person to do exactly that? Her own shoe's are kicked off in under two seconds, shoulders slumping in relief as her bare feet rest on the floor.]

Satan. Satan is a fashion designer and he specializes in women's shoes.

Well, he is a terrible designer. [She does not... show any recognition of the name, or sign that she gets that it's a joke at all.] I don't know why anyone would support his work.

[The hint of an amused smirk touches her lips, a sparkle in her eyes but Rose doesn't see fit to... explain it.]

Some people even worship him for it. Crazy, I know.

I wouldn't worship someone for fashion even if it was comfortable.

[Beatrice shakes her head. It makes no sense to her.]

I try to avoid worshiping in general but Satan is definitely one worth skipping.

[And this whole conversation is made so much better by the fact that Rose is presently speaking to Lucifer on the TDM.]

Me too. Last I checked, most higher powers seem to be pretty useless when it comes to actually making things better for anyone.

I've got a deal going with God. I'll agree to believe in him so long as he agrees to let me sleep in on Sundays.

[Beatrice gives her a look that says this means about as much to her as Satan the shoe designer does.] That sounds nice. I haven't had many chances to sleep in. Except here, I suppose.

[And at that, Rose is just going to blink at her and shake her head.]

A kidnapping with perks. Who knew. [Just enough bitterness in her tone to put her as Team 'I'm not a celebrity but who cares, get me out of here anyway!']

Very, I'd never seen a phone til I got here, or at least, not one like these. It was very difficult to make it work at first.
