Who: Nageki Fujishiro and You
Where: All around Genosha
When: Aug. 5th to 9th
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Nageki must work to master the power of the stars! As a mutant mourning dove with no control over his own powers, he struggles to train while battling a weak immune system. Will match style.
The Story:
DAY ONE
A small meteor streaks down from the sky and crashes in front of Nageki. Rocks spray everywhere and half-buries him under rubble.
Every day that he can, Nageki comes out here to train. The day human extremists burst into his home to kill everyone in his orphanage, he realized his power was not his sentience. He could also summon meteors and, to a limited degree, read the future from the stars. His meteors ended up killing the humans and his family; a tragedy that won't happen again. This place is isolated so there is no one to hurt but himself if Nageki makes a mistake.
He pulls himself out, coughing as he does so. With his immune system as weak as it is, Nageki is rarely well and Nageki's abilities strain his body as well. He can tell he has a fever now.
Two more times and then he'll go back home, he decides.
DAY TWO
Nageki had known he was sick, but not how badly off he was. Halfway to his destination, dizziness overcomes him. He leans against the wall of a nearby building and slides onto the sidewalk. He plans to sit there for a while, just into he feels up to walking back home.
Moments later, he's dozing at the side of the road. Maybe someone should wake him up.
DAYS THREE AND FOUR
He pushed his body too hard and ends up in the hospital. It feels that he's visiting more frequently as his body continues to grow weaker. The doctors help to the best of their abilities but the real problem is his weak immune system and none of them can fix that.
Nageki spends most of his visit sleeping. He tries to walk when he wakes up, but the nurses quickly usher him back into his bed. Nageki ends up looking up at the ceiling and recalling passages from his favorite stories in his head.

Day Two
Kind of a funny sight in the middle of all her drama. Unique, too- she's never seen a bird quite that large. She smiles despite herself, though it's a small smile. Looking around quickly to check that no one is around, she takes out her camera and snaps a picture of the sleeping animal- the flash pops brightly and the camera makes a loud whirring sound as the picture slides out.

Wait a moment. He frowns at the picture that camera produces. Can he see himself on it?
"You should ask permission before taking someone's picture," he tells Max and almost immediately coughs. He'll have to buy some throat lozenges on the way home.

The bird just talked to her.
Oh jeez, it's a mutant. Way to call attention to yourself, Caulfield. With a huff she stuffs her camera into her backpack, but holds the picture out to the bird. She's not very scared- it's just a bird. These mutations are getting more ridiculous all the time. For the moment it doesn't dawn on her that the bird might be sick.
"If you don't like it, you can throw it away." She doesn't really care either way.

The photo is still embarrassing, but there is no sense in throwing it away now.
Nageki stands up, coughing again. The nap did help him feel better but his throat is itchy now. "What time is it?"
How long had he sat there sleeping?

It- he?- coughed. She eyes the bird warily. "I dunno. Some asshole broke my phone," she responds, omitting the fact that the asshole was a mutant. It's probably implied, anyway. Without a watch, the phone was her only way of telling time.
She wants to leave, but she can't very well let this bird-thing die out on the street, especially since it's so much more than a bird... She sighs. "Are you okay?"

He's pretty sure he has a fever, but he can handle that. All he has to do is get home and take the medicine waiting on the counter top.
Nageki starts walking, but the world sways slightly as he does. He stops, attempting to adjust to the sensation.

With a huff she digs into her pocket and pulls out a bunch of bills- the ones Sans gave her, that she's supposed to use to get to Banner's house. With an almost grumpy gesture she points out a nearby bus stop. "There's a bus stop, okay? And I know there's a free clinic somewhere around here... Just take this and get yourself checked." She waves the money at him. "Please?"
Seriously, it'd do her a favor to not have to worry about this right now. She wants to help, but she's a little overwhelmed with her own problems- hopefully the money is help enough (though she needs it for herself, too).

He nods and accepts the bills. "...Thanks. Where do you" - another cough - "live? I'll pay you back."
no subject
God she almost said it's not her money. That would probably be the wrong thing to say. "It's nothing. You don't have to pay me back."

Dabney Apartments is one of the poorer apartment buildings for mutants. Nageki can't earn money and his brother's earnings mostly get spent on medicine for Nageki so they can't afford a nicer place. But Nageki's brother placed some money in a drawer there for Nageki to use. There's enough there to replace to amount Nageki is taking now and since Nageki has to means to pay her back, he will.

"Yeah, okay. I'll try to swing by there tonight."
No, she won't.
"Will you make it to the bus okay? It's just over there," she says, pointing again.

There's just... too much going on in her life right now for her to think much about other people. She sighs to herself, a little disappointed in her lack of empathy.
Still, she at least watches him until he makes it all the way to the bus stop, to make sure he gets there okay. When he looks back at her she gives a small wave, then turns and walks away in the opposite direction.
