Rating: W for WILD PARTY (Ok no more like PG-13 just in case)
Summary: Mettaton has a birthday party that involves creating an entire theater for his first ever Wonderland performance!

The Story:

On every wall in Wonderland (and quite a few statues and pillars) citizens will find a poster bearing the beautiful visage of resident robotic star, Mettaton! Emblazoned across the top of it are the letters M-T-T in sparkling gold inks, surrounded by an oddly rectangular robot, with one wheel sticking out the bottom. Anyone who knows will recognize that the arms look the same as Mettaton’s regular arms and could hazard a guess that the rectangle is supposed to be him?

Below that, there is a picture of Mettaton posing with a mic stand with a singular spotlight shining down on him. Below THAT, there are words:

HELLO BEAUTIES AND GENTLEBEAUTIES OF WONDERLAND! IT’S YOUR RESIDENT HEARTTHROB AND CELEBRITY DELIGHT’S BIRTHDAY TODAY! THIS NIGHT ONLY, COME TO ROOM 50 ON THE FIRST FLOOR FOR AN INAUGURAL PERFORMANCE BY YOURS TRULY!

COME MARVEL AT WONDERLAND’S NEW THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS! AFTER MY PERFORMANCE AT 7PM ANY AND ALL ARE WELCOME TO BRING THEIR DREAMS TO THE STAGE!

NO PRESENTS REQUIRED; ONLY YOUR PRESENCE! THOUGH THEY CERTAINLY WON’T BE TURNED DOWN!

FOOD AND DRINK WILL BE PROVIDED THANKS TO THE KINDNESS OF WONDERLAND’S BOTTOMLESS KITCHEN

[It totally was.] Just another event I guess. I kinda wish Chloe hadn't gotten dragged into it, but-... [Ahhh heck, this is a birthday party, not a mope-fest. She manages to push aside the more depressing thoughts.]

[He laughs, full and bright.]

[She shakes her head, amused. God she should be embarrassed. The moment she thinks it, she does start feeling embarrassed.]

My best friend. Maybe you've seen her around- she has blue hair.

[As if to hide her own embarrassment, she holds out the papers to Mettaton: a drawing of the celebrity, both an original and a copy. Max is pretty good at drawing, so it's fairly well done:

Mettaton looking like a real star, with a smile that almost literally shines. The drawing is composed from his chest up, his chin resting lazily (and yet so stylishly) against one hand as he grins down at his many fans, his eyebrows raised with a playful air. Next to the drawing is some text in large font - "The stunning Mettaton live at The Happening, August 21st and 22nd, 9:00pm!"]

It's one of those posters from Genosha. I can still sort of remember how it looked so... anyway, this one's for you. [She holds out the original drawing first, hesitant with nervousness over whether Mettaton would like it. Then she holds out the copy.] And I was hoping you could autograph this one so I can hang it in my room.

So Max is gonna evolve into a kick-ass Gyarados then?

Mm, I don't think I have, but I'll be sure to say hi if I do in the future.

[When Max holds out her present, Mettaton actually gapes a little. This was not at all in the realm of expectation and he can't help but be touched at how much effort and work this must have taken.]

Max, this is... this is beautiful. I love it!

[He takes the original and then positively beams at the copy.]

Of course I'll sign it! Anything for such a sweet fan and good friend as yourself! Is there a particular color or pen you want me to use?

[Is it actually beautiful? Max searches Mettaton expression and finds sincere appreciation there- and Max's smile brightens in response. She rummages in her bag enthusiastically, pulling out a black pen and offering it to him.]

This is all I've got. Happy birthday, Mettaton. I really am a fan, you know.

[Particularly after how much he helped her out. She grins happily at him.]

LAUGHS, POOR MAX

[She holds out the pen and he takes it easily with an air of familiarity, quickly scrawling out the letters M T T in a flowing, elegant script. He hands it back to her, his eyes looking back to the original, drinking in all of the details.]

Thank you so much, Max. This gift of yours is perfect.

[She takes the autographed copy and gives in a lopsided grin before tucking it away carefully into her bag. She looks up in time to catch Mettaton still examining the drawing.]

I'm really glad you like it. It's... I mean, you really deserve something nice, after that event.

[Which Max doesn't actually want to discuss much, so.]

Uhh, I guess I should let you get back to your adoring fans.

I think we all deserve something nice after the event. Hence this party!

[He gestures grandly to the entire theater.]

You mean get back to the rest of them! You said so yourself that you're a fan! And time spent with a fan is always well spent. But if you want to run off, you're completely welcome to. You've truly done your part to make this night spectacular.
