+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: BEACH PARTY +

Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: The Beach!
When: Sept 5th to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Are the other parties a little too crowded and chaotic for you? Come and chill by the water! And don't forget to have a look at the Fourth Wall Master Post for event rules, puzzle clues, and more places to mingle!
The Story:

Beginning on September 5th, much of the shoreline will be taken over by a massive beach party! As with all good Wonderland parties, it will be run day and night, always mysteriously tidy and always with food that replenishes itself.

At various points along the beach, there will be wheel barrels full of candy and treats, and torches for people to claim as their own. There are also volleyball nets, and when darkness falls they will light up like Christmas trees for those who want to play well into the night.

There are many places set up to sit - some with tables, some with pillows and blankets, many with shade, and some even dug out in the sand. There is music playing, but the source is unclear.

However, there's one thing that the curious may find - a message in a bottle. It will regenerate within five minutes if taken, allowing as many curious truth-seekers to investigate as possible.

I don't really know either.

[They shrug lightly and the ball rolls a little bit along their head but they sway accordingly to keep it in one place with an effortlessness that makes it feel like second nature.]

I think it's 'cause so many new people are here all at once? Maybe it's like a big "Welcome to Wonderland" party.

Maybe. I didn't think about that.

[ It seems possible? If Wonderland doesn't normally bring this many new people at once, this could be something special. Of course, that only raises questions about why so many new people are showing up and whether there isn't something sinister to it.

He can't help but watch, impressed as they manage to keep the ball on their head even as it rolls to one side. ]

You have good balance. [ He gestures to the ball with one hand. ] Is this something you practice a lot?

[At this point they're sort of wavering to one side or another to keep the ball on their head, until finally it rolls forward far enough where they'd have to choose to either step forward and risk bumping into him or just let it go. So they let it roll off and catch it evenly in both hands.]

I like putting stuff on my head, [Frisk says with a noncommittal shrug.] Once I balanced 30 hotdogs! Might've been more if Sans hadn't stopped.

[They say that with no small amount of pride. They consider that to be one of their higher achievements, honestly.]

[ Well, that's an interesting hobby to have. Shiro finds it a little odd, but it's an amusing sort of odd. And okay, the hotdog thing is definitely weird and yet still oddly impressive? ]

Thirty hotdogs? How... [ He's legitimately surprised. A hotdog or two, sure, those could be balanced, but thirty??? ]

I wouldn't have thought that was possible. How did you even manage that?

[ Not a conversation he'd ever seen himself having with someone, but hey, it's a good distraction and honestly interesting, if it's true. ]

My friend Sans, he made it work! I don't...really know how he reached that high...

[They trail off as they consider it for a moment. They're just going to have to file that one away with the rest of the "Things That Sans Just Mysteriously Knows/Does" along with the others. The long, long list of others.]

But I was able to keep 'em up there for a little while! Only until the next r - um, only until I started walking around a whole lot, though.

Might've even gone higher, if he hadn't decided to stop at thirty.

[Gosh Sans, way to ruin a potential world record.]

Huh.

[ Really, it's one of those things that shouldn't be possible and anywhere else he might guess it's hyperbole of some kind, but since this is Wonderland and he knows nothing about where the kid is from... He'll believe it. ]

You must be pretty talented, hotdogs are hard to balance. [ At least, he imagines. It's not something he's ever tried before. ]

What made him decide to stop at thirty? I mean, that seems like the kind of thing where if you're going to do it, you might as well go all out and see how many you can get to.

He said thirty was just excessive. He had to be pretty..."frank" with me.

[All right, so they're reusing that joke a little bit, but the timing was too good to resist. They roll the ball up onto the top of their head again and start aligning it so it balances there.]

Anyway, it's fun. Like a challenge to yourself!

[ Okay, the joke gets him a little. Breathing a soft laugh, Shiro crosses his arms and watches the efforts to start balancing the ball again. ]

It's definitely that. And not a challenge I've seen many people give themselves.

[ Also not one that helps develop a useful skill... ]

That's good that you like challenging yourself, though. You have to do that if you want to improve at something.

[And an appreciation for horrible puns on top of it! Ha, on "top." But if he likes jokes, he can't be as stodgy as he initially came off as, right?]

Yeah! I mean, it's just useful to know, too? So, like, you can, can carry stuff around while leaving your hands free!

[They release the ball and hold their hands out in front of them, proudly balancing the thing on their head. Ta-da!]

So I guess you could say it's handy!
