+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: BEACH PARTY +
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: The Beach!
When: Sept 5th to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Are the other parties a little too crowded and chaotic for you? Come and chill by the water! And don't forget to have a look at the Fourth Wall Master Post for event rules, puzzle clues, and more places to mingle!
The Story:

Beginning on September 5th, much of the shoreline will be taken over by a massive beach party! As with all good Wonderland parties, it will be run day and night, always mysteriously tidy and always with food that replenishes itself.
At various points along the beach, there will be wheel barrels full of candy and treats, and torches for people to claim as their own. There are also volleyball nets, and when darkness falls they will light up like Christmas trees for those who want to play well into the night.
There are many places set up to sit - some with tables, some with pillows and blankets, many with shade, and some even dug out in the sand. There is music playing, but the source is unclear.
However, there's one thing that the curious may find - a message in a bottle. It will regenerate within five minutes if taken, allowing as many curious truth-seekers to investigate as possible.

It makes sense. They never told me if they could SAVE before but if they could they wouldn't have been there. With me.
[In them. But that's still an uncomfortable thought. Chara leans back to lie down on the sand, hands on their middle, staring at the sky. They've... not missed it, but after having not seen it for days they understand a little of why monsters might long for it.]
They said their SOUL was the same colour. That was why, wasn't it? What are the odds the... eighth and the first would match?
[Is there a world where monsters broke out with seven human souls, because of an accident in the order of who fell?
There's other things they want to say, but they swallow them down. This is not their Frisk, and they have to remember that. They've asked enough and revealed enough as it is.]
no subject
I guess that's why it happened. Why they didn't really follow the other humans.
[If they have, they never told Frisk about it. They think it would have come out at some point or another. It must have. They tell each other everything now.]
But...yeah. I don't think - I mean, humans have determination, but two human SOULs in the same body is like...double the determination. And that lets us SAVE. It must. Otherwise all the humans would be SAVING and LOADING all their problems away.
[They think they would have noticed if they could spontaneously warp space and time to suit their wishes. Then again, they'd never really died before. Never gotten to test that power by awakening from death.]

Time seems to slow down when in danger. The concept of deja vu exists. Near-death experiences aren't unheard of events. Perhaps it simply is a matter of scale.
[But this is mostly them being needlessly pedantic. The devil's advocate. Always have to unpick things.]
Perhaps every human is on some level trying to, and it mostly cancels out.
[Creatures that want things to go their way, regardless of what happens.]
I'm alone now, and I can still SAVE. Your mirror could. Was merging the training wheels?
[They think they're alone.]

[They try not to think of Toriel. Of Napstablook. Of Asgore. Of Papyrus. Of the Frisks and Charas who were not them, of the Sans whose entire body was malformed and stuttering and strange, like it wasn't really there.
They fail.]
And the mirrors...well, my mirror can SAVE. I'm not sure if Chara's can. And they're not even really human, they're just - well, they're mirrors.
I guess I just kinda stopped trying to be logical about it. [They shrug.] Not like Wonderland ever bothered to be.
no subject
Okay, no not really. Chara does grumble a bit, and glance away. They like it when things make sense.]
Not really human?
[if you could keep pretending to be one.]
How do they differ? They seemed all too human to me.
[Their distaste is evident.]
no subject
[Even if they did seem...all too human. Frisk winces, brief and sympathetic, as they glance away. Chara's first impression of them, their violent, manipulative, dangerous mirror. They wouldn't wish that on anyone except that...well, it happened.
It happened, and they have to live with those consequences.]
If you kill them, I'm not sure what happens. If they get to come back or what. I'm - not sure I want to find out.
no subject
[They smile. That's a pleasant thought. They sit up, and start ineffectually brushing sand off their trousers - the prelude to getting up entirely.]
If I do, and you change your mind, I will let you know.
[Maybe mirrors explode into light, or shatter, or turn to dust like monsters do. Who knows? Chara thinks they are almost certainly worth EXP regardless.]
no subject
Please...please don't. I mean, you don't have to. They're...I know they're not nice, but they're still me. Despite everything.
[The mirror is right about one thing. They are something that happened.
They just chose to embrace it rather than overwrite it.]
no subject
[Chara's silent as they stand, smile falling. This is what it comes down to, isn't it. The argument that has occured, in another place, over and over.]
Some things cannot be allowed to stand.
[The mirror can SAVE. There's no such thing as infinite goes at molding a person here, and that has always itched at Chara's sensibilities even as they've been doing it to survive.
They know, because they've been there, and this Frisk has been too from what they've said, that someone like that is not changing unless they want to. Better to nip things in the bud. Mitigate the damage.
They never claimed to be a good person. They can manage being bad on other people's behalf.]
Goodbye, Frisk. This was an interesting meeting.
[And with that, they turn and begin walking away.]
no subject
They shake their head in an abrupt deescalation of tension, and stay where they are.
They can only hope their mirror has the good sense to stay away.]
