+ FOURTH WALL EVENT: FOREST PARTY +
Who: E V E R Y O N E
Where: The Forest!
When: Sept 7th to Sept 10th
Rating: G to PG-13 (please label higher ratings, thank you!)
Summary: Could it be that you (GASP!) don't want to be here? Do you maybe want to make like a tree and... leaf? Then how about you do the next best thing, and come to the woods to party! And don't forget to have a look at the Fourth Wall Master Post for event rules, puzzle clues, and more places to mingle!
The Story:
Beginning on September 7th, colourful ribbons will hang from several trees by the forest. Whoever follows their path will be guided deeper, right to the scene of a forest party.
Wooden benches, swings in all shapes and sizes, tree trunks, and other arrangements give plenty of opportunities to sit together. Tree houses and tents provide shelter, and come nightfall the festivities will light up for you.
Campfires provide additional light and warmth and a great place for ghost stories. Camping coolers store more than smores, and all around you nature twists and turns to give you room to dance to the music, to wander in the quiet, and to simply have a good time!
(...Are you the curiously perceptive, or the perceptively curious sort? If so, then you might also notice the small bird sitting on a branch nearby.)

Asriel Dreemurr | Undertale | Storyshift!AU | OTA
light peeks through a canopy of leaves above him, and Asriel lifts his hand to shade his eyes from the harsh beams of light. the sun. He'd never seen it-- and wow, wow is it better than all the books said it is!! ]
Chara!! Chara are you here?! [ he waits for an answer, and receives none. The only downfall of this place is that he's not entirely sure where he is. Or where Chara is-- or his mom or dad. He swallows a little bit of his fear and crouches to climb down the tree. He whines a little when his feet fail to find a good place to start shifting down.
So, Wonderland, there's a small goat, hanging off a branch in a tree, trying to get a good footing so he can climb down a tree.
he may or may not be in need of assistance. ]
A Mother Appears
Lo and behold, she seems to have found them- dangling precariously from a tree.]
Asriel!!!
[She quickly runs over, and stands right beneath him, arms outstretched, ready to catch him.]
Asriel, sweetie, are you alright up there? It's okay- Mom is right here.
MOMMY
Mom!! [ what a big, excited look on his face. Mom is here to save the day! Though she looks a little different than normal, there's no doubt in his mind. But is it okay for a future captain of the royal guard to be so reliant on his mommy?
He guesses that all moms are this way. But it elicits a small, embarrassed noise... ]
E-er, mom, I'm the God of Hyperdeath!! I can handle anything!
[ but he looks somewhat anxiously over his shoulder to make sure that she's still there. y'know. because he doesn't want to expend the energy to get himself down.
gotta conserve that godly energy, after all!!!! Yep! ]

[She remembers what he was doing before- pretending to be this character over the network. It was kind of charming, really, and it still is... especially with them seeming so much... more cheerful, now. They don't seem upset to see her at all.
Maybe Asriel finally did work his way through whatever problems he was having...? She's certainly happy to see him like this at least, smiling as she keeps holding her arms out.]
Well, Mister Hyperdeath. By all means, go ahead and get yourself down! I'll just be waiting right here for you- though if you want me to catch you, just say the word!
no subject
N-not that I need to be caught, but, uh, if I did, would you be ready to catch me?
no subject
Of course! I understand that you'd just be picking a faster way of getting down- it won't give any negative impression on your strength and ability to get down on your own!
no subject
How'd you find me here, mom? Was it my extra intimidating battle cry?! Chara's playing the part of the evil human, and I was trying to scare them into coming out!!
[ he pats his chest a little bit. Extra proud of himself! As his mom holds him. What a big boy he is. ]
no subject
Hah... No, I was just looking for you. I heard that you were here, and I wanted to find you, that's all.
[Chara and Asriel were... playing. They were just playing together, and being children together, and... she hasn't heard of anything like that in so, so long.]
Really now- does Chara always have to be the evil human? Maybe you could try switching roles, sometime. Or play a game where you're both working together!
no subject
[ he seems curious for an answer. Maybe that weird, creepy dog. Blech. His face twists up like he's eaten something sour. No. No playing with the creepy dog. ]
no subject
[Toriel has to stop herself from saying 'Frisk'- not exactly happy with herself that they were her first choice for who would be an evil human.]
Or you could work out something else entirely! Protecting people need not always involve a fight and a villain.
no subject
I don't like the other kids, anyway. [ he mumbles. Not the type to just warm up to others so easily. ] It'll be me and Chara all the way!! Because they're not actually an evil human! But if they were I'd protect you!

BROBRO
You doing okay up there, Rei?
[If he pitches a fit for their use of the hated nickname, he...hopefully won't fall off the tree. If he does, they're not sure they could snatch him out of the way of plummet in time.]
BROBROBRO BROBROBROBRO!!!
Hey!! I told you not to call me that!! [ he makes a little 'hyup!' sound while he scratches his feet against the tree futilely. ]
The God of Hyperdeath doesn't need any help!! On my own, I can-
[ the branch cracks audibly. His feet wiggle a little faster. ]
Okay!! Maybe just a little bit! A little bit of help!
no subject
A bright spark of red springs into their eye, the sensation both warming and agonizing. Their hand twitches, a sharp, lateral jerk.
They remove him from the branch, clipping him through space until he's perched on the much more stable trunk area, within easy reach of sliding down onto the hardwood deck.]
When I said you should "branch out" from Snowdin, this isn't what I meant.
no subject
Chara. [ a playful warning. DON'T GO THERE BROBRO!! ]
no subject
I've heard of making like a tree and leafing, but this is just ridiculous.
no subject
I, the Absolute God of Hyperdeath, will not allow you to continue your human antics!! As the defender of Snowdin, I will also protect this...place!
[ he stops, leaning toward Chara with his hand shielding his words from being seen by strangers. Green eyes watch Chara curiously. ]
But, uh, where is this place exactly?
no subject
Someplace called Wonderland. Don't ask me how we got here. I just know there's way more people here than...
[Than home or anywhere they've been, for that matter. Mostly they're just pleased that someone they know is here, and from a world they understand. And they can't even believe that's a thought they had. Ugh.]
no subject
But never fear, poor human! I will figure out where we are and get us to safety!! [ he adjusts his majestic rainbow scarf! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!! ] This problem is nothing that a god can't handle!!
no subject
[Their grin is easy, and even if their words are teasing, their tone is warm and undeniably fond.]
But yes, I think it is. This has many more differences compared to the book I know, though. For instance, I don't remember Wonderland having quite so many treehouses.
[Not that they mind. Almost absentmindedly, Chara extracts a bar of s'mores chocolate from their pocket and starts snacking.]

Entirely Incorrect Sibling is here NEVER FEAR!!!!
That's Asriel's voice, and of course they're drawn to the sound of him calling them. But he's... well, technically, he's wearing a striped bandana, but not a striped shirt at all. And the way he's calling, it's...
Ha ha, it's like he isn't afraid of them at all.
They stand, entirely too far away to be useful. Far away enough that they sort of have to raise their voice for him to hear them. They have to claw back the urge to rush to him, to offer their arms, ready to catch him, in case - in case that terrifies him. In case it spooks him into letting go, and he just hurts himself and it's all Chara's fault. Ask, first. Give him a chance to back away from them. To remind Chara that the best thing they can do for everyone is stay away.]
Asriel...? Do... you require some help?
NO SUCH THING AS INCORRECT SIBLING PROBABLY.....
But I just wanted to offer you a chance to help out the amazing God of Hyperdeath!! [ he scrapes the tree a little with his feet. The branch makes a soft crackling noise. He gazes at Chara with a somewhat pleading expression. ]
Er. Please?
do not underestimate chara's ability to Ruin All They Come Near
The monsters always won when they played Monsters and Humans.
Too bad it didn't work out that way in real life.
They bite their lip, half-expecting this to not be real. To just be a trick of their mind, or for this to be a mirror laying some kind of trap, or - or something. It seems to good to be true. They're not allowed to have this, to have an Asriel who's not scared of them. Not after what they've done. Not after what they're going to do, whatever hateful unforgivable path leads to please don't kill me.
But they approach. Stand beneath him, arms spread.]
Don't worry, Asriel. You can let go. I'll catch you.
do not underestimate asriel's ability to Do The Opposite Of That
Oof!! [ Asriel's fluffy-eared head bonks against Chara's roughly, and he lets out an unintentional bleat!! ]
an unstoppable fuckup meets an immovable snowball
Asriel's solid little goat-skull clonks into their head and he flumps against them like a sack of potatoes, and for all their ATK, for all they pretend their skinny arms are unstoppable and fearsome in their strength, Chara just... crumples like an accordion. Hits the grass is an ungraceful tangle of siblings.]
Ow, jeez! Have you always been this clumsy?
[They scratch at their aching head. Probably going to have a goose egg, right in the middle of their forehead.
Ha. Kinda like when they first came to Wonderland. Frisk gave them one, too.]
What were you doing up in that tree, anyway? What would you have done if nobody had caught you when you...
[...Ah. They're being... they're not being the greatest person, right? Snapping at him. Getting all sore about the parts of them that are sore right now. The kind of friend he really wanted wouldn't get mad at him. Getting mad at him makes him cry.
They hesitate, bite their lip, paste a smile on.]
...If nobody had caught you when you Asrifell?
