( open ) Hot Tub Cinema Party...
Who: Darcy Lewis & YOU!
Where: First Floor, Room 16
When: October 13th in the Evening
Rating: Probably up to PG-13, will update as needed
Summary: Today is the 2 year anniversary of the coffee shop, it's time to celebrate in a not!typical way.
The Story:
There was something to be said for distraction sometimes being the best medicine. The past month had been interesting, but it was time to move forward and celebrate a milestone. The coffee shop had been around for 2 years and somehow was still standing after everything. It had gone through a facelift about 5 months ago and was about to go over another baby one to make room for the celebration. The look of the shop hadn't changed, but there was suddenly a locked door to room 16 as of 10/11 that hadn't been there before considering the shop had previously spanned 2 rooms. Posters were placed all over the mansion as well as a digital invitation in the evening of 10/11, announcing the celebration.
As of the 13th, the coffee shop is decked out with streamers, balloons, and confetti to celebrate the 2 year anniversary as well as some festive luau-style drink options to tie into the plans for the evening. The menu features a lot of frozen and chilled options that pair nicely with the party later. As people start to arrive, there are two dressing rooms available with closets for anyone who needs to change as well as a plethora of towels. Drinks are available both in the coffee shop and at the bar in the cinema room, alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. There's also a wide assortment of food and goodies that come with a little warning about moderation on all fronts while in the tubs. Once everyone's settled in and the movie starts, there'll be a little bottle delivered to each hot tub for the group to decide whether or not they'd like to add some bubbles to their party. First movie of the evening will be a little more family friendly with The Goonies, the second film, Labyrinth, going a little further on the risqué spectrum. Various pool-type toys are available, including beach balls to casually toss at other people or the screen.

"You haven't been here that much longer than me, right?" He tips his head, "Still kinda getting your feet wet with the way the place works, too, aren't you?"
no subject
She shakes her head a little. “No, I think I showed up here just a little bit before you did. And then got dumped into the whole wizarding world event not long after arriving.” She laughs a little. “Oh yeah. Definitely. It’s... weird. I mean, I’m used to our usual sort of weirdness. Different Earths, doppelgangers, metahumans. But being somewhere that’s supposed to be fictional? Kind of a whole new level of weirdness.”
no subject
"Still jealous of that, by the way." He teases her lightly, smirking all the while. Who hadn't dreamed of these things in their generations? Of course he felt shafted in this case. "Right?! It's trippy as hell. I mean-- if Carroll was right about Wonderland, kinda makes you wonder what other stories out there might be more true than we thought."
no subject
She makes a face at him, looking amused. “Well you’re here now so next time Wonderland does something like that you’ll be right there next to me.” And she’s pretty sure it would be a lot more fun with him there. Even if she’s not likely to remember him this way. Or even possibly know him. “Would have loved to go flying with you.” At least she had been able to share some of the foods and drinks at Hogwarts, thanks to the mansion’s magical dining room. “Exactly! The possibilities are... kind of endless. And what makes a story truer than others? Is it random, or are there some other factors in play that we just don’t know about?”
no subject
"I guess that's true." And if the-- world? city? What do they even call it?-- place still decides to do fun things like make everyone Harry Potter wizards, he might not complain about it too much. "That would have been so fun." He smiles at her enthusiasm, wondering fleetingly if she realizes how cute she is. The thought's gone as quick as it appeared, as he turns his attention to what she's saying. "They really are. That's a good question. I guess some people might say something about the belief in a story having something to do with it... but it's kind of hard to test something like that. There must be something else to it."
no subject
“Belief could be a part of it, but there are plenty of stories that plenty of people believe in. So there’s definitely other factors involved. There has to be. It’s just a matter of narrowing down what those factors might be.” The fact that they’re talking about the science of Wonderland and other places like it being real sort of delights her. Impulsively, she shifts back in the hot tub, water gently sloshing around her, and holds out a hand, waggling her fingers just a little. “Join me?” There’s a shy, hopeful little smile on her face.

The heated water is nice and Cisco sinks into it, but he hasn't forgotten their conversation. "I wonder if any one else has come up with any theories surrounding this idea. Maybe we could find out, toss some ideas around." He's kind of intrigued by the whole thing.
no subject
He’s handsome. Really handsome. And smart. And kind of amazing in general. Oh. It takes her a second before she’s throwing herself back into their conversation, biting her lip for a moment before smiling brightly and settling comfortably beside him. “I think we should.” She likes this. It’s intriguing and she hasn’t had a serious project to work on since she arrived.
no subject
"Okay, so we will. We'll see what anyone else has pieced together and who else might have interest in figuring it out, and...try to find a way to narrow it down." He's almost giddy about it, honestly. The idea of having a project, something to work on, work towards is promising. Feels a little like home.
