Summary: Eleven wakes up in Wonderland. It's fine. Everything is fine.
The Story:

[the last thing she remembered was stopping the demogorgon. disintegrating it into nothing … didn't she die? she was so spent, and it took so much of her, she thought that was the only way it could end. but instead of the cold, dark, dampness of the upside down, or simply the nothingness of being dead, she found herself here. wherever here was.

as she takes in her surroundings, she realizes she's surrounded by books. she doesn't really care about books — she can read, sort of, but giving her a proper literary education was never really a priority in hawkin labs. what she does know about books in general though, is that the best ones are big and heavy. and that is why she starts grabbing the lengthier hardcover tomes off the shelf without so much as really glancing at what they are. because in a corner, she's … building a fort out of books??? or at least a sizable small collection. to chuck at people's heads.]

Oh yeah. I bet there's like, a picture book or something... huh.

[She stands, putting her hands on her hips and looking like she's addressing the library at large.]

Hey! Library! Gimme a huge book for the roof of this thing! Don't be stingy!

[She peers up towards the top of the shelves, squints a bit, and then outright just starts climbing the thing. Lumberjack skills, don't fail her now. But she does retrieve an (albiet thin), large book- not enough to cover the whole top, but pretty impressive.]

There we go! That'll probably be the best it gives us without a fight. This place is like, super temperamental.

[el watches wendy climb with slight awe. she could've gotten in down with telekinesis, sure, but she doesn't think she could have climbed like that. how cool.]

Thank you. [she places the book on top so that it covers as much as it can.] Better now.

Yeah, there ya go!

[She points a finger gun at her, winking to add to the effect.]

Now you're all set up. What's your name, anyway? Don't think I've seen you around before.

[she smiles, gently bolstered by wendy's cheer.] Eleven. I haven't been here before.

Well, nice to meet ya. The name's Wendy.

[She figured the other girl was new, anyway. Most kids end up flocking together, even if most of them are younger than her. Not that it's a big deal! They've all been cool, and seeing as Eleven started with defacing property, she's cool in Wendy's book.]

You sure picked a good place to start here. There's a ton of other cool stuff here though. I'm pretty partial to the roof.

[so curious] What's on the roof?

Well nothing when I got here. Now it's got chairs and an umbrella. I'm workin' on a space to hold water balloons and drinks too, for like, the ultimate hangout spot.

[She takes her hangout spots Very Seriously.]

[she doesn't know half of what wendy is talking about, but it sounds nice???] Can I see it?

Uh, yeah! C'mon, I'll show you.

[She holds out her hand for Eleven in the fort, like she tends to do. She's been meaning to test her new Wonderland Roof Spot for a while anyway before releasing it to the general public, so this seems as good of a time as ever.]

Okay. [she takes wendy's hand and gets up. another friend?!?! this is all so exciting.]

Alright! Let's go.

[Wendy leads Eleven out of the library and up the stairs to the roof door without much chatter. When she gets there, she opens it with a flourish.]

Ta-da! Roof Spot.

[The place Wendy's set up looks simple enough, and is rather akin to her original roof hangout back in Gravity Falls. There's an umbrella and two beach chairs, pointed out towards Wonderland's ocean.]

Still gotta get a cooler up here. But that'll be, like, easy, once I figure out how to stop people from taking it.

[she looks around, impressed with the view more than anything else. she's from indiana ok. and even then she got to go outside for like ... a few days in her who knows how many but probably thirteen-ish years.]

We're high up.

Yeah! This is like, the top of where you can get around here. Unless you climb a tree in the forest or whatever, but that's a looot of work.

[She folds her arms, obviously pretty impressed with herself.]

Yes! [she actually smiles.] I like it. Thank you.

[She's always liked it up on roofs. Maybe it's because she's so used to being in trees, or how it's easy to get away from it all when she's literally up and away from problems.]
