Summary: Eleven wakes up in Wonderland. It's fine. Everything is fine.
The Story:

[the last thing she remembered was stopping the demogorgon. disintegrating it into nothing … didn't she die? she was so spent, and it took so much of her, she thought that was the only way it could end. but instead of the cold, dark, dampness of the upside down, or simply the nothingness of being dead, she found herself here. wherever here was.

as she takes in her surroundings, she realizes she's surrounded by books. she doesn't really care about books — she can read, sort of, but giving her a proper literary education was never really a priority in hawkin labs. what she does know about books in general though, is that the best ones are big and heavy. and that is why she starts grabbing the lengthier hardcover tomes off the shelf without so much as really glancing at what they are. because in a corner, she's … building a fort out of books??? or at least a sizable small collection. to chuck at people's heads.]

[She's not extremely talkative, huh. That's okay, Dipper is. He sits on one of the stacks of books.]

Well, this is a different dimension from where you're from. Have you read the book Alice in Wonderland? Cause it's basically like that.

[she shakes her head.] No. But I know what dimensions are.

Oh, well, that helps. [Some people get pretty thrown by that one.] The good news is you can go home. The less good news is that you can't choose when that happens. And you're gonna be stuck at the same age as long as you're here, which could be measured in years.

[Dipper is more okay with that than he once was, but he still isn't really happy about it. He should be 14 and he's still stuck at 13, which is better than 12 and 11 months, but not by much.]

[none of that particularly bothers her — the fact that she might not see mike again bothers her, yes, but she already accepted that she probably wouldn't when she sacrificed herself to save everyone from the demogorgon. this is just a weird afterlife as far as she's concerned? or something like it. it's better than the upside down.]

Have you ... been stuck?

[He nods.] My sister and I got to go home pretty recently, but just for a little while. Long enough to reach our 13th birthday! I mean, we're actually 14 if you count time here, but at least now we're actually teenagers.

[likeseggos]

[this makes her think about something ... and it makes her sort of sad.]

I don't know how old I am.

[......he kind of thought she was 11 but when he thinks about it a little more that's silly.]

Well... you look like you're around my age. I'm 13.

Thirteen. [she says it like she's considering it. does that sound right??? it sort of does. so she just ... decides that's how old she is. it's fine.] Okay. I'm 13.

[Dipper nods, grinning a little.] Cool. Now you need to pick a birthday.

[likeseggos]

A birthday? [wtf is that?]

The day you were born. The day you celebrate getting older. It can be today if you want, since it's the first day you've had an age.

[likeseggos]

[she nods.] Today will be my birthday.

[krmvgivv]

[Dipper nods and grins.] Well, if you're still here in a year we'll throw a party. If you don't know your age you've probably never had a birthday party, right? Don't worry, me and my sister are party experts. We'll give you the best party ever.

[she doesn't know how to feel about all this party business, but dipper seems nice and he's making it sound nice so ??? maybe it will be nice.] What happens at a party?

[krmvgivv]

[Oh boy. It's good Dipper likes teaching people things. There's clearly a lot to cover.]

Well, it's a bunch of friends hanging out and doing fun stuff together. There's cake and ice cream and presents usually. It's awesome.

[that actually sounds good. wow. amaze. she nods.] I would like a party. Next year.
