The Story:

[Pretty much anywhere on the mansion grounds, 12/07]

[So hell...that happened. All right. That actually wasn't so bad all things considered. Okay, it was bad, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been. She'd been able to keep her wits about her, she had Stone Free still, nobody she knew died or at least she doesn't think so. So all in all, she's not going to let it get to her.

So today, she'll be hanging around outside. She doesn't make an announcement about it like last time, she's not really too pissed off about things, and it's nice, okay? With everything going on back home, there wasn't a lot of time to just kind of relax and hang around, so it's something she goes out of her way to do in Wonderland.

She's not really planning to get involved in anything, but if somebody wants to say hi, she's more than fine with talking to them for a while.]

[For Kanji, 12/07]

[At some point on the same day, she'll call Kanji out here. She can't spend all day doing nothing. Okay, yes, actually, she can, but there's something she's been wanting to do. And since there's no giant messes going on, she doesn't have memory tampering to gripe about, none of that crap, so this is the best time.]

All right, so this Persona of yours. Let's see it.

[Maybe there's a better way to go about these things, but if there is Jolyne doesn't know it.]

You said he's more of an outside guy, right?

[The next day, Jolyne's making time to head for the diner and look for Souji. She owes him a conversation and has for a while actually, so this seems like a good time. It's not that she's avoiding him or doing this, she knows she's been putting it off. It's just that offering to talk about her world is so much easier than actually doing it.]

If you're free, do you have a minute? Uh, actually maybe a few of them, this could take a while.

[It could definitely take a while. Count on that one.]

[Teddie can be a bit much at times, and he's gotten Souji into trouble a few times, but Souji wouldn't trade it.]

Right now, there's just me, Kanji, and Minato from my world.

[She hasn't met Minato yet, but she'll be making a note to talk to the guy.]

I don't think I'll need to introduce him. He'll make himself known.

But I'd like to meet people from your world if they come.

I think you'd like them. Probably.

[She can't imagine people not liking her friends, honestly.]

But when you say he'll make himself known, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm sure I would.

[Souji can get along with pretty much anyone.]

Mostly a good thing. I think. He's just very...gregarious.

Uh, I'm sure he is, but what's that mean? Sorry, I was in the middle of playing catchup with school when I got arrested.

Sorry. [He nods in understanding. Nothing wrong with not knowing words like that - Kanji definitely wouldn't either.] It means he's really friendly and outgoing.

[She'll try and remember that one. It's a good word.]

If it were a manga or anime, he'd be the comic relief mascot character.

Oh, gotcha. Well then, I'm either going to find the guy hilarious or want to beat the stuffing out of him. One of the two. Won't know until I meet him.

That's how most of my friends feel, too. They all love him, but half the time they want to shake him.

You know, I think every group has somebody like that.

[There's a slight pause here and then.]

...come to think of it, I might be that person in mine.

[He pictures it and chuckles quietly.]

What are your friends like?

[uncoils]

They're the coolest people I know.

[Except maybe Anasui, he's...weird. But that might just be because Jolyne hasn't really had the time to get to know him. Or he's just...weird.]

And they're not bad people either despite the whole being in prison thing.

[...except once again, maybe Anasui, he's the only in for actual murder.]

Do they all have Stands?

[Might as well ask, since it seems like she got hers while she was there.]

They do. They're all pretty different from mine though. Like Kiss can make stickers. Burning Down the House is like...a pocket dimension or something? And Diver Down does...something with swapping things? Or fixing things? It'd make more sense if you saw it work.

[There's a couple other ones, but the users are dead, so Jolyne doesn't want to talk about that.]

[Now to a question that had arisen earlier.]

How did you get stabbed with the arrow thing if you were in prison?

[uncoils]

My lawyer, who was a complete shithead, got me a locket, saying it was from my family. I opened it, the arrow was in it, it cut me. Then it kind of...got lost and made its way around the prison.

Which is how my cellmate got her Stand, Hermes got Kiss, and uh...think that might've been it actually?

[There might've been one or two more, but those are the only ones she's really sure of.]

Why would your lawyer want you to have a Stand?

[What the heck is your backstory even, Jolyne.]

I don't think he actually knew what it was. Just that my family wanted me to have it. If he'd known, he probably wouldn't have given it to me.

[At least that's her thoughts on the matter.]

So it was your family who wanted you to have it. Your dad?

[uncoils]

Yeah. He didn't want me to have one. Or be involved in this shit at all.

[She can't help but frown about this. She knows why her dad did what he did and never showed up for...literally everything in her life for the most part. But it was still shitty, and it still hurt.]

But at that point, it's not like he really had a choice. I'm sentenced to prison with two Stand users who want my ass dead, I'd need a way to survive until he got there.
