[OPEN] Second Lesson
Who: Kiyotaka Ishimaru and ANYONE!
Where: The oasis/jungle and the pyramid
When: Throughout the event! (From the 13th to the 16th!)
Rating: PG so far? It will be edited if need be. Being a DR character, mentions of murder/death could come at some point.
Summary: It's Ishimaru's first event! Let's see how he fares.
The Story:
[Out of the available clothing, Ishimaru ends up wearing the get-up with the high-waisted pants on the far right. Equipped with his kendo shinai along with the supplies he was given, he begins his new journey....]
A. To Explore
[Once more, Ishimaru finds himself waking up in a very unexpected place. At least, just like when he arrived in Wonderland, finding himself outdoors is a relief compared to the times he spent locked in Hope's Peak. He takes some time to regain his bearings and check his supplies. He then begins journeying onwards.
You can come across him when he's using his kendo shinai to try to push aside some foliage in the way.
Or he can approach you with a question:] Excuse me! Are you are aware of where you are right now? Are we anywhere near the mansion?
B. To Survive
[The journey continues onwards. Ishimaru is getting a bit worn, but he's been able to stagger out what food he had, and luckily he knew some tips about surviving in the wilderness from his studies. He makes his way towards the pyramid because of it being the only shelter.
But, during a lull between storms, Ishimaru suddenly finds some very undead interlopers standing in his way. He quickly attempts to fend some off with his shinai and run, but he can only hold them off/evade them for so long...
Or, you may also find him suddenly freezing up during an escape attempt, as if he's lost in some sort of a daydream. One about the Japan of long ago...]
C. To Remember
[Ishimaru made it to the pyramid! Hooray! But there's no time to celebrate, as on the last day, a change comes over the young man. Suddenly, there's a different type of intensity in his expression, and he wields the shinai with a much more trained hand. He searches the pyramid, trying to find someone and suspiciously eying everyone he comes across.]
Where could she have gone...? [He now believes that he is a young samurai who was assigned to bodyguard a certain someone...]
D. Wildcard?
[If you have any other ideas for run-ins throughout the event, feel free to improvise or plot with me!]

Y-you are too kind, Maizono-sama! [He pauses as he looks around, though, his expression growing more serious.]
I am afraid to admit that I am unfamiliar with this area! It seems to be... some sort of worshiping ground, perhaps? Of course, the sooner that we find our way out of here, the better!
no subject
I agree with you, it's best we get out of here. Truth be told, I get a bad vibe from this place, it's a bit unsettling. [A cold shiver runs up her spine as she starts to walk.] I hope there's not any traps or anything. Let's tread carefully and I'll be on the look out!
no subject
It is true. It is very different from what I am accustomed to... But from examining the area and studying it diligently, that seems to be the only answer!
[And he listens to her concerns with the utmost seriousness.]
If you have a bad feeling about this place, than that is all the more reason to find our way out of her. Stay close to me, Maizono-sama, and we will find our way to safety.
[A beat.]
...Do you happen to recall the way you entered from?
no subject
I sure will Ishimaru-san. [There was no way she was going to leave his side, not even for a moment. She had the utmost faith in him that he would be able to get them out of here.] I absolutely trust you and I know that with you, we'll be out of here and safe from harm's way.
Umm, I want to say maybe that way? [With her free hand, she points towards a corridor that leads to the left.]
T-Truth be told. Everything looks the same to me so I'm not for sure, I apologize.
no subject
But he looks in the indicated direction seriously.]
Please do not apologize! I am the one who is supposed to be on top of this sort of thing, but I cannot recall the way out either. When in doubt, we shall simply trust in your instincts! Y-you have never led anyone astray!
[With that, he starts to guide her down that corridor.]
no subject
[She's still huddled up close to him as he guides her. It might be because of how unfamiliar the setting was, but this place was actually a bit terrifying. As they walk, some carvings on the wall catch her attention.] Those are really intriuging. I wonder what they mean...
no subject
That is a good question! It seems like the images are supposed to say something about the people who inhabited this area. I can tell one thing for sure... They must have been far too lazy! Almost every person depicted is sitting down when they could be working hard!
no subject
For some reason, Sayaka's not too certain if this civilization of people were actually lazy, but in her mind, he knew more than her so it had to make sense, right?] I see. I didn't even notice they were all sitting down but if so, that is truly a shame. They could be doing something better with their lives other than sitting down all day.
This makes me appreciate how hard everyone works back home to unite Japan. I suppose we should count our blessings that father and everyone else always work hard and do their best!
no subject
[Ishimaru gives an eager nod at her words and his heart swells with pride.]
Precisely! This just goes to show you for sure how splendid our proud nation truly is! As a nation of hard workers and warriors, you will not find us sitting down! Your father is truly a splendid example of this!
no subject
Exactly! We are truly a dedicated nation. [She giggles.] It's a no wonder why my father likes you and always has good things to say! You are the embodiment of hard work and dedication. He's quite fond of you. As I am as well! I couldn't ask for a better bodyguard.

Is it just me, or does it feel like we have been walking for a while? I hope we aren't going in circles. [Suddenly she pauses, thinking about the word hope.]
Hope... [She felt like some sort of memory was on the tip of her tongue. Hope's... school? No, that didn't sound right. But in an instant, she snaps out of it. As far as she was concerned, she was from ancient Japan not, whatever she was thinking.]
Ah, sorry! Ignore that. I don't know what came over me.
no subject
It has been a while... I apologize!! I will redouble my efforts to find our way outside as soon as possible!
[But as she pauses, Ishimaru gives her a curious glance. 'Hope'... as she repeats it, that word seems to ring something familiar in his mind, too.]
It is of no concern! But, if you have something to say, then you should feel free to speak your mind, Maizono-sama!
no subject
Why, thank you Ishimaru-san! [The reassurance makes her feel better about suddenly just zoning out like that.] It's nothing serious! For some strange reason, the word 'Hope' just sounds really... familiar? [Suddenly, she laughs at the idea.] I don't know why! It's such a common word. Maybe this pyramid is just doing strange things to my mind.
no subject
That cannot be true! I refuse to doubt your wise intuition. We should simply keep on pressing onwards!
[He blinks as he takes in the rest of her words.]
Ah... 'Hope'... Maizono-sama, you are not alone in this feeling! It sounds so oddly familiar to me as well... It is as if it is at the tip of my tongue!
no subject
[She says his name with nothing but the most fond endearment.] T-Thank you for believing in me so much. If you say that, then I'm confident that this is the right direction! I'm sure we'll get out of here safely.
You as well? That's reassuring that you feel the same. Yes, it's like... Hope's... P...Pea
[Suddenly she stops.]
Huh, I think I just lost my train of thought, my mind keeps drawing a blank. Maybe it's just this strange feeling in the pyramids that are making us think like this?
I realized that this honorific worked better, if this minor retcon is alright!
Perhaps! It may be some trick of this area. ...It is all the more reason to find a swift exit as quickly as possible! Maizono-hime, let us both do our best!
It's perfectly alright!!! Maizono-hime is so cute ♥
Yes, I agree with you. Let's do our best to get out of here, there's no telling how else this place will mess with our minds.
But um, this place seems large so don't overwork yourself! The last thing I want for you is to overexert yourself. If you need to rest, we can stop and take a break. I haven't run into anything strange so, I think it's at least safe in that regard? [Or so she hopes, anyway. But she trusts Ishimaru to be able to protect the both of them if something were to appear.]
no subject
Ah... Yes, of course. We must move efficiently and be vigilant!
[Yet he tries to wave away her concern and looks as confident as he can!]
Please do not worry! I will be mindful of my limits. However, it may seem safe, but that could just be a false sense of security! Follow me, and I am sure that we will reach safety!
no subject
[Now that he says this, she squints her eyes and takes extra note of ther surroundings. If she was going to be of some use, she at least wanted to warn him in advance before something attacks.]
I'd follow you anywhere. I trust you and your abilities to get us to safety. [Ishimaru's confidence brings her a ton of reassurance. Feeling a bit more relaxed about the situation, she tenderly hugs the same arm that she had been holding onto the entire. Realizing her own actions causes her to giggle.] Let me know if this gets bothersome! It's a little dark so um, I feel secure like this....
no subject
Ah... It is no worry, Maizono-hime! If something helps you to feel more secure, than I am all for it! A-and with your noble assistance, I know that I will never be turned astray!
[They keep moving down that dark and dusty corridor.]
no subject
[All the dust in this corridor causes her to let out a small sneeze.]
I can't believe how dusty and messy this place is! Top on that, I have sand in my hair too. How do these people live like this?
[She does not have good luck with sand, it seems like.]
no subject
I- I do not know! But, are you alright Maizono-hime?! I must redouble my effort to get you out of here, before the toll becomes too great! Hang in there until then!!
[He quickly produces a small napkin to hand to her for her nose and begins moving more quickly!]
no subject
Is what she wanted to say, but she's a bit stunned by the napkin's appearance. Who, what, where, why??? But none the less, she's grateful and happily takes the napkin and wipes her nose.]
Thank you, this was most needed.
[The genuine concern that he shows for her touches her heart. She continued to feel grateful that her father assigned such a caring bodyguard for her.] I'm okay! Don't stress too much. If I let a little dust effect me that much, then I'm not worthy of being my father's daughter.
You too, okay? Don't strain yourself that it becomes a toll on you. Or else I'll cry!
no subject
[He's still nervous. This is like his first time truly trying to protect her on his own. There's no one to swoop him and protect her properly if he messes up.]
I should not have underestimated your own strength either. As a worthy heir of your clan, of course you can endure such hardships! That is just another wonderful aspect of yours...
