⚡ DINING ROOM
She wanted him to mean it.So she’d thought...She’d thought.
That was her first mistake, Jesse has decided. Thinking. Hoping. Wanting. Definitely wanting. Probably her biggest mistake. So now she’s trying very hard to NOT think, and to not let herself acknowledge how much she hurts, the way the sadness keeps tightening her chest. It was foolish anyway. So incredibly foolish. Instead of hiding in her lab, because she doesn’t want to hide, exactly. Well, a little. She wants to hide a little. But she’d offered use of her lab to Cisco and he’s the last person she wants to see right now. Which means her lab is out.
Instead of hiding in her lab she gathers her journal of projects and science, a few tools and some assorted odds and ends and takes them to the dining room, finding an out of the way corner of one of the large tables and setting up shop. (She would have gone to the library but she didn’t want to anger anyone. She’s heard stories.) This way she can nibble if she happens to have anything like an appetite. She indulges in something green and tangy and alcoholic, though, sipping at it as she works.
She avoids the project she’s working on for Cisco, though. That’s something she can’t bring herself to work on right now. Not yet. Not until she figures out some way to stop feeling what it is she feels for him. Swallowing hard and taking a breath, she frowns and focuses harder on the task at hand. She has a few projects in the works, besides the one for Cisco, and she’s sort of bouncing between a few of them, working on calculations for some, and fiddling with a prototype for another.
Distractedly, she rummages in a pocket and pulls out one of the leftover suckers from the sucker bouquet (it ended up more of a sucker tree, but the thought was the same) she’d made Cisco for Valentine’s Day, tugging off the wrapper and popping it in her mouth as she works.
⚡ KITCHEN
There’s going to be a lot of food when she’s done. And she might even have some of it. She feels a little bad for basically having taken over the kitchen, but it’s only for a little while. Unless she gets the idea to start making something else, too. Then it’ll be for a little while longer.
Maybe she should make timpano, too.
